When this originally aired, I was watching it with my gf. I kept thinking that those babes were smokin' hotttt!!!! (But I kept it to myself.) My gf looked at me and said: "I bet you like those fat b*tches, don't ya?" I played dumb, but she wasn't buying it. (3 great looking babes in bikinis and high-heels, dancing and strutting around. What's not to like?) Maybe if she'd put on a bikini and high- heels now & then - and danced around like these babes - I wouldn't have dumped her azz.
SecretTimeWarp- Where did you see this episode of SNL? During all the years of repeats, they never seemed to run that season (season 6) The show almost was cancelled because of that season. I would love to have better quality video of the 2 Kid Creole Performances.
I was a little kid when this played. I had never heard this band before. I just happened to be browsing old music videos here on youtube. This band is friggin awesome. Very colorful and entertaining. Man do I feel old! Those were the days!
Once they're in your bones KC&TC are your favourite band forever. The lyrics, the groove, the energy, what a melting pot. It still sounds so original today. Love that funky bass, take a bow Carol Colman. The original guy !!! Thanks Mundi for sharing this musical history and soundtrack to our lives. Best, Dominic
This performance changed my life. I discovered my new favorite band--which still is my favorite--that would have a profound influence on me for years to come. The only other bands I can say the same about are The B-52s and Blondie, although Blondie was a taste that developed over time. My love of Kid Creole & The Coconuts was instantaneous.
I had a coati mundi when I was a kid
