I mean that there are some things that cause the numbers to "lie." For example, Mac OS X Leopard runs at almost full capacity with amazing efficiency and effectiveness on just 1GB of RAM, whereas Win Vista needs 1GB to barely stay functional. I say "seems" because the "overpriced" label fades after actually understanding a Mac & owning one.
@duudegetamac I have tried a Mac, and i can't see the good in them. Well, for studying, they're pretty amazing. I would have bought one for school, but when i could get a small windows computer for 380 Dollars, rather than a mac for 960 dollars... Then i'll go with the windows computer.
If it was cheaper though. Like the Windows pc (Not just pc, as Mac is a pc as well), around maybe 400-420 dollar, i might have taken a mac for school and a windows pc for gaming. but.. well, do you see my point?

But if you learn to use a PC correct and learns all the functions, a W7 PC for the same price as a Mac will be MUCH more efficient, that is a fact. I bought a comp for about 90% of the price of a mac. And it was almost(if not) double the power in it as it was in the mac. So in the end it comes down to the experience of the user. just takes more work with a PC.

aside from that, the price of the ram you get in a mac is ridiculously high, to the point where you could get 4 gigs of ram for the price of the 1 gig apple would sell you. Eg: for the ram in the mac mini, apple charges approx. 150-200$ for 4 gigs. Crucial offers 2x2 ram for about 50$.
You don't have to buy RAM from Apple, you can buy it from anywhere. Over time, I have upgraded my 3 Mac computers' RAM and Hard Drive with the cheapest stuff online or in the stores. You can use the exact same hardware upgrades for a Mac as you can with a PC.
Also, just mentioning the size (ie. 4GB) of the RAM is not enough to compare prices. There are types (ie. PC2-6400 DDR2) and speeds (ie. 800 MHz of RAM) also that must be compared in the price comparisons.

My laptop has a big enough screen (15,6"), has a fast enough processor for games, HD movies, video editing in Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere, software developing and photo editing, has never crashed, has never gotten a virus or given me a head ache... And it cost me (or rather the company I work for) about $800.
if your still not sure what to buy, you need to think about what you use a computer for. if you use it for gaming, get a pc. if you use it for pretty much everything else and have the money, get a mac.

ive had this PC longer than my sister has had her mac. This computer has crashed once hers has crashed twice. Both pretty much are the entire proccesing system built into the screen
Everything that has a complex computer in it will crash, end of story. Saying it will never crash like they did in the video could be missleading but you get the point, I've had a mac (and a PC) for ages and Mac do crash so so so so many times fewer than the PC.
Mac is nearly virus proof. They are starting to come tho.

Actually it would be Linux > Mac OSX > Windows. Keep in mind that OSX is UNIX-like, just as Linux is. Only problem with it is that it isn't open source, with the exception of XNU, printing services, and some GNU software.

Strange... My laptop has a big enough screen (15,6"), has a fast enough processor for games, HD movies, video editing in Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere, software developing and photo editing, has never crashed, has never gotten a virus or given me a head ache... And it cost me (or rather the company I work for) about $800.

if your still not sure what to buy, you need to think about what you use a computer for. if you use it for gaming, get a pc. if you use it for pretty much everything else and have the money, get a mac.

Here is Apple's stupid thinking. All PCs I have ever seen aren't built into the monitor like iMacs(which are like the only type of Mac you can get anymore apart from a small range of towers and the Mac mini). This means you can easily get a new monitors for PC. If the screen's too small on your Mac, too bad! You chose the computer that is built into the monitor. Get a PC.

Everything that has a complex computer in it will crash, end of story. Saying it will never crash like they did in the video could be missleading but you get the point, I've had a mac (and a PC) for ages and Mac do crash so so so so many times fewer than the PC.
Mac is nearly virus proof. They are starting to come tho.

Awesome. Used to spend a few hundred every year on computer guys to come into my home office to fix the network and other crap. Not anymore.

Actually it would be Linux > Mac OSX > Windows. Keep in mind that OSX is UNIX-like, just as Linux is. Only problem with it is that it isn't open source, with the exception of XNU, printing services, and some GNU software.
