This kid has acceleration like no other, he's truly Trindon Holliday-esque in terms of acceleration. I mean he ran a 6.65 60m dash in high school, that's like unheard.

Jeff Demps was faster than Devon Smith and Trindon Holliday coming out of high school last year (10.01 100m)...and he's a National Championship now. This kid should have been a Gator. He would have thrived in the Gator offense.

Exactly... except don't be surprised if Holliday beats Demps a couple times in the 09 outdoor season. I'm not so sure Demps is faster then Holliday (at this point). I'm actually really eager to see how Demps transitions into the college track and field, hopefully he doesn't end up like J-Mee Samuels (10.08 in HS,, \\)who only had a somewhat mediocre collegiate career compared to the hype he had out of high school.

Those top 5 are on point though I just wouldn't be surprised if 1 and 2 switch.

One question, though....I went to the Crab Bowl, and I noticed something odd...Who's and what kind of helmet is Devon Smith wearing? It's totally orange....Westlake's helmet is white w/ Miami Dolphin-type colors.

Folks--This kid ran the 40 in 4.19 secs.!!...IN FULL FREAKING PADS!!!!

He beat Porzel by a step and a half...and THAT guy runs 40s in the LOW 4.3s!!!

Here's a thought...After working with the Penn State's Sprint Staff...maybe in about a year or so...On a dry, level composite track, in high-tech lightweight spikes, and mild weather conditions....THIS kid... Devon Smith...just MAY get to a SUB 4-SECOND 40-YD DASH!!! I mean, Can you imagine?!?!
