so, is this Kara's song or this girl's song? what's her name? I don't understand, I thought Platinum Weird was a fake band... but this vid seems "vintage" so I don't understand who is the real author.
I'm always surprised of how most americans believe and eat hoaxes so easy. Just repeat something 1000 times and they will assume it is the one and only truth (like anyone else would do) Don't you see, guys who say it's real and that the girl actually "vanished", that the picture is so neat and the images have a very high quality to be from the 1970's? lol XD

Hmm, interesting. So the 1974 band of the same name was an actual band and not a hoax by Stewart and DioGuardi? Or did they just add a fictitious back story to real people? Was her name actually Erin Grace, or was that just part of the publicity for the new Platinum Weird?
@cjcara18 actually, my mom listened to this song when she was a little girl in the 70's, and right before this bands debut concert the singer dissapeared and no on ever saw her or heard from her agian. not even her parents.
@JamesArthurDean no she isnt an actress, this is the real version. Platinum weird came around in the 70's. The girl sining dissapeard one day and never surfaced again. In kats version, the man in the video is the young guy playing guitar to the right. (apparently they were in love but who knows)
If memory serves me right, this came out in 1974, I think. But the band didn't last long at all. The girl, whose name I had forgotten, just up and left the band. So the band never went anywhere. I'm still in awe that Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics played in this band! LOL
Perhaps if they hadn't made up a story about a band and girl that didn't exist, this song would have been taken more seriously. I agree it should have been a hit.
Make Believe is the first album by Platinum Weird. To tie in with the band's back-story, it was marketed as a "lost" album from the 1970s, with vocals credited to fictional lead singer Erin Grace. In reality, the album was written and recorded in 2005 and 2006, with vocals by Kara DioGuardi
does somebody else sing this version of the song? it sounds a lot different then the video with Kara DioGuardi and i like this version a lot better

Kara DioGuardi & Dave Stewart wrote the song, Kara IS singing but in a lower register
Not sure who the girl portraying Erin is

i don't know, but that's not Kara's vocals. Her version is more rock... is it real band or what?

Okay, who is this girl singing? Because the original Platinum Weird is a fake band, and these people didn't actually exist. Is "Erin Grace" an actor?
