@TheSerenityhuck "possibly" could be an understatement. executive right to kill american citizens is given to the president and under the bush administration a law was passed stating that the president could basically discard congress and run the government by themself...im pretty sure this means a dictatorship is coming.
@Ezio43 Well, we better grab our guns while we can, before the government starts taking them away. When you combine the mentalities of american people and the unjust ways of the government system, this will problably result in another civil war.
@MRSUPERAWSOMETIME Yeah, so are 90% of all 5secondfilms...the first 3 seconds is the intro. This has been done before plenty of times, you're not being clever.
not to turn this priceless and high brow video about how god damn psycho america is into something serious or anything, but... SERIOUSLY. WTF AMERICA?
@kingryany3 eh, i just know some buildings got blown up or something so on sept. 11th the news makes a big deal. and it had something to do with the government, but i don't really give two fucks lol
@ginnoveffect Lol yeah, but he probably wouldn't get the Roosevelt reference. Who he is, and why he's a giant robot dinosaur would probably be pretty useful to know.
@Matyi1987 its basically a a bill that allows the military to arrest and detain any person in on United States soil without proof, trial, or a warrant at their discretion. Just as long as you are considered to be a terrorist, or as the bill states, an "enemy combatant". Which is why everyone is freaking out because that wording can be used to take out journalist or anyone else that speaks ill of the government.
@girmasterman pretty sure there was an a announcement about government officials and soldiers being labeled as blue's and citizens as red's by technical designation.....this is...fucking scary...
what they're talking about is a bill that if passed would take away a lot of our basic rights as americans, basically taking a big step towards a government that can do whatever they want to whomever they want with little to no proof. as for robo-Roosevelt, it refers to teddy roosevelt. a president who was very popular among the people before he ran for president. he also defended the rights of a lot of people, that being the joke of the sketch
There's not going to be a civil war over this Bill. All you bitching kids are just gonna cry about it and all those teenage rioters are gonna give up the minute tear gas gets thrown. Americas youth is sheltered and doesn't know shit about war besides video games
@Swagleson I remember "bitching kids" flying over to Libya and grab AKs.
There's no civil war bursting for this bill. From what I have seen on youtube, that's the American wet dream. Still, "bitching kids" have been protesting in other countries and not backing down after the tear gas is long gone and bullets are now in place.
No matter how much I disagree with the current educational standards, I think the "hurr durr they can only fight in videogames" is a complete underestimation.
@bf2lover42 Except the Libyans themselves didn't do shit and Gaddafhi's trained military force was about to win against the rebels but then NATO got involved and it was Western air strikes that won the war for the rebels, who were also by the way made up of a lot more than just idiot children.
So yes, the guy you were responding to was completely correct and there's no way a bunch of sheltered children will give up their white privilege for any reason.
@murphy3162 I am talking about citizens from other countries in their 20's who flew to Libya to fight alongside the rebels.
Yes, I disagree with the modern education and kids are somewhat "spoiled". But so did previous generations. No, I am not saying growing up in the 70's is the same thing as growing up in the 2000's, it's just that older generations have shunned younger generations. Generations which later contributed for a better world.
So what's all the fuss about? I have no problem with the National Defense Authorization Act, because it means that all serving members of the military are now empowered to arrest, indefinitely detain, torture, or KILL anyone they SUSPECT of engaging in terrorism - including George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, David Rockefeller, and all the so-called "representatives" who passed this act in the first place.
@AmericanPatriot2008 What happens if a member of the military decides to kill a person that was never on trial? Then you have an unchecked death penalty that can kill many innocents.
The possibility that a member of the military can kill someone who was never on trial will exist as long as these "laws" are in force. I'm just making the point that it applies equally to the scum politicians who enact them.
So a serving member of the military can kill me with impunity. My brother, who is a Marine, can also kill some of the REAL terrorists, and traitors, on Capitol Hill.
@AmericanPatriot2008 You forget that everywhere in the world people are above the law.
You can be arrested and lose your right to posses firearms if a weapon you obtained legally malfunctions and fires more than a bullet per trigger pull. But the ATF can send American guns to Mexico to be used for, quote, "gang violence".
Point is: if you try to use this law against politicians, there are already laws in place that clash against this one.
@AmericanPatriot2008 It's still murder. And believe me, anyone who tried to kill a government official would be charged with a dozen crimes and locked up, because that's how law works. If it was the politician killing you or me, they would get off.
It's like the 2nd Amendment. If you try to take down the government, they aren't going to accept it. Basically, you are committing a "crime" and if the guns you have are legal or not is irrelevant.
I'm not talking about ME doing it. I'm talking about members of the armed services who oppose all of this doing it. You think there are not members of the military who are opposed to this?
You think members of the military won't have people in their own families who will be subjected to this law, and rounded up?
If your brother, who is in the military, does try to kill anyone who isn't a low-life nobody cares about, the law will not work the same if it was a politician or a CEO of a big company.
The second part of your comment (military opposing the law) only proves my point. Not only I did never imply that everyone in the military was happy about it, I also said it was bad. You tried to see the bright side.
You don't seem to understand that this "law" is a Declaration of War against the American people. This law means Civil War. It is only a question of when it will begin.
Once the killing starts, it is not going to end for at least 10 years. I don't think you understand this. But the Militia groups understand it. First those groups will be targeted, then more armed services members will defect, and mutiny...
@AmericanPatriot2008 "So what's all the fuss about? I have no problem with the National Defense Authorization Act (...) The military can now detain most of Congress."
It does sound like you have a problem with it, just like me, but you moved the goalposts so I can't really get what you are trying to say. First it's good, I say it's bad, now it's bad and apparently I am saying it's good. Stay classy.
@AmericanPatriot2008 how dare you captain crunch! i used to enjoy your delicious crunchiness, but now... i feel like you're a completely different cereal...

Lose everything? What more is there left to lose?
If you can be taken away to a detention center, tortured and executed, you might as well take some Gestapo down with you!
Over 200 MILLION gus are in the hands of American citizens.
@AmericanPatriot2008 Perhaps a few years ago, I'd feel compelled to perform some kind of suicide mission. A martyr's last stand, if you will. But now, I know I won't trade my freedom for security, but I am not going to give up on the people I love.
In another note, that comment can be seen as promoting terrorism. Try to not get shot in the next minutes, m'kay?
@Matyi1987 basically its a bill which dictates that the military has the power to take any US citizen into custody indefinitely. basically amendment rights just got torched. and its now fully possible that american citizens could end up in guantanimo. this is how it starts.
@CzechAvailabilitie Yeah, I know it's terrible, God knows where we'd be if we weren't a world power! Maybe we would have an endless supply of money! Oooh, and maybe the political parties would dissipate and we could all hold hands and sing together! Rainbows and kittens!!!! :D
@TheFiliusMortis I assume you haven't heard about the Spanish American war in which America became a colonial power. They went to various Spanish colonies, overthrew the colonial government and propped up their own. In the Philippines they did this with the help of the independence movement which they then stabbed in the back by taking over,shooting lots of people and putting any Filipinos who resisted in concentration camps. If that isn't imperialism nothing is.
@Usernames117 At the same time you haven't come up with anything remotely relevant, good job, like a true american which makes itself be governed by religious nuts.
@CzechAvailabilitie I'm sorry, it's 2 A.M. in the morning, I can't really come up with a witty or educated response that would take less than a paragraph, so I shall counter your reasoning with this....Bananas are high in potassium and can help prevent cramps.
@Matyi1987 50-70 year old assholes in the U.S. government want to destroy the internet because they don't understand how it works and think it's all illegal.
Sopa and pipa are the products of a handfull of elderly congressmen who do not understand the internet or how these bill will affect it. They won't be passed, just like the other half-dozen similar bills that have been proposed in the last few years. So shut the fuck up and stop overreacting.
@codyownz2 Also, do you not remember the first vote? 52-46 vote in favor of net neutrality. A.K.A. 46 people voted against it. "handful of elderly congressmen" my ass, lmao.
Actually, the only reason these don't pass is because we, the internet and the country at large, have such a vehement reaction with petitions and the like. The time everyone shuts up and stops overreacting is when that kind of thing passes.

what's the bill about ?
Serpette94 2 months ago
@Serpette94
if the bill passes (it will never), then the government can hold a civilian for as long as they want, without even placing charges on them.

@Matyi1987 basically its a bill which dictates that the military has the power to take any US citizen into custody indefinitely. basically amendment rights just got torched. and its now fully possible that american citizens could end up in guantanimo. this is how it starts.

@MrGreengaming Heads up, Teddy Roosevelt was Republican. So was Lincoln. And Reagan.

@TheFiliusMortis
Teddy was also shit and the embodiment of American Imperialism.
Same goes for McKinley who got what he deserved.
CzechAvailabilitie 2 months ago
@CzechAvailabilitie Yeah, I know it's terrible, God knows where we'd be if we weren't a world power! Maybe we would have an endless supply of money! Oooh, and maybe the political parties would dissipate and we could all hold hands and sing together! Rainbows and kittens!!!! :D
TheFiliusMortis 2 months ago
@TheFiliusMortis I assume you haven't heard about the Spanish American war in which America became a colonial power. They went to various Spanish colonies, overthrew the colonial government and propped up their own. In the Philippines they did this with the help of the independence movement which they then stabbed in the back by taking over,shooting lots of people and putting any Filipinos who resisted in concentration camps. If that isn't imperialism nothing is.
Leon Czolgosz was a hero.

@CzechAvailabilitie I'm sorry, it's 2 A.M. in the morning, I can't really come up with a witty or educated response that would take less than a paragraph, so I shall counter your reasoning with this....Bananas are high in potassium and can help prevent cramps.

@TheFiliusMortis Parties have changed a lot, going back as far as Lincoln and you're talking about a different Republican party.

Sopa and pipa are the products of a handfull of elderly congressmen who do not understand the internet or how these bill will affect it. They won't be passed, just like the other half-dozen similar bills that have been proposed in the last few years. So shut the fuck up and stop overreacting.
codyownz2 2 months ago
@codyownz2 INB4 SOPA passes.
Frohstar 2 months ago
@codyownz2 Also, do you not remember the first vote? 52-46 vote in favor of net neutrality. A.K.A. 46 people voted against it. "handful of elderly congressmen" my ass, lmao.
Frohstar 2 months ago
@codyownz2
Actually, the only reason these don't pass is because we, the internet and the country at large, have such a vehement reaction with petitions and the like. The time everyone shuts up and stops overreacting is when that kind of thing passes.

@jacobpotter If you still believe the American people have any influence over the government what-so-ever, you're a naive fool.
