@mimiscreations1 - Thanks! I purchase my CD case in a pack of 10 at my local Big Lots, but I'm sure you can buy them at any office supply store. Just make sure you buy CD cases and not DVD cases. Thanks for watching!
I do use CD cases, but I leave them on the backing they came with and also put a piece of light colored paper behind them so they're easier to see as I flip thru .. The bigger stamp sets are put (with their backing) into page protectors then into a notebook .. also .. my Target never has stamps but now that I see this .. wouldn't buy them anyway!
This video is so helpful! When I build up my stamp collection some more, I will definitely follow your lead and make a catalogue! I especially love how you keep your mini stamps on a binding ring, great idea :)
I love the way you use a binder ring for the studio G stamps! Awesome, I've been looking for a way to store them, I don't have a whole lot right now so that will work perfectly! Thanks!
I love how you ordered your stamps. I keep mine in a single shoebox, so obviously I don't have enough to warrant a catalogue. However, the more I scrapbook, the larger my stamp collection grows. At one point I will definitely make a binder like yours. I really appreciate you sharing this ~Dera
great ideas , i dont have that many stamps but I do forget what I have so probably the catalog is a great idea and If I start now is not going to be a big deal in the future , thanks for sharing it, hugs
Great video and great idea. I do have a question for you. Do you use 2 or 3 cases for sets that come with larger stamps. I just bought a clear stamp set from Inkadinkadoo and I think I could get only one stamp per case, so would you use 5 cases then all with the same #? Thanks for your help and this great vid.
@Scrappingpinklady -Yes, if the stamp set come with quite a few stamps and I can't fit them into one CD case, I use two and just write the same number on the CD cases. Sometimes I also remove the stamps from the protective sheet and put them directly on the CD case, this allows you to put more stamps in the CD case.
I have a question about your stamp organization, if you get one set of stamps that has several different occassions do you break them apart to put them into the correct categories in the books and cd cases? Or do you keep the entire set together the way it was purchased?
@Scrappinology - Hey Gina, I do have some set that have mixed holidays. I have a section in my binder just labeled Holidays. This allows me to keep the set together. I only separate Birthday/party stamps in a Birthday section. I don't own a ton of Holiday stamps. If you don't care about separating them, you could breakdown each holiday giving them a section in the binder. Organize how you would find them the easiest.
I work with alot of polymer clays, and found out that you can't store them in hard plastic cases because the "raw" clay will eat away at the case. I guess these stamps have the same compound in them that will eat through hard plastics. I don't think if you left them in the packaging you bought them in, the same would happen. Not sure though since I"ve never bought any stamps from target. Thanks for the heads up. And thank you for the great tips on cataloging and storing stamps.
@wonderdog1956 - Thanks for that info!!! Most of my stamps are stored along with their protective sheet in the CD cases. No more Target stamps for me - LOL!
This is such a good idea! And one of the few times i don't mind there's no target in the netherlands ;) I love the quick tips like the post-it to rememer what number you should give to new stamps. I think I know what I'm doing tonight! TFS!
But I'm bad at keeping my little stamps in the packages so i think I'm gonna sort those out and put them in cd-cases by theme or something..
where do you buy the cd boxes its a great idea!!!!!
