I need to find an elusive 80's rock video. Don't know the band or the song, but I recall seeing glimpes of the B&W shots. The lead singer is sitting in an low, white arm chair (like the Maxell ad) in a small white room with 4 doors, surrounded by tall, skinny, pale and glamorous people, sipping martinis, big hats. the memorable part comes at the end when the women are banging the doors with open hands, and the singer guy is just yelling out "Ee-Yah! The thing that made the 80's so much better than today's music is that there was so much originality and so many people experimented with so many different sounds. Today it's all about sounding like that last guy that sold a million records because that's what's hot. In the 80's there was such an influx of European and Australian bands that got airplay that brought such a different sound than what we were used to. MTV playing videos certainly helped too....

One of the coolest sounding records that I heard in fall 1989 before the floods of pop releases that season. Best to hear with the windows down in your car and the wind blowing!

The lead singer sounds sexy singing it as well as the heavenly female backup singers. The bass guitar is kicking and the drummer and keyboards give the song such a cool landscape! This was a good career making record for them and boosted their album's sales!

I went through the same thing. I grew up in the 80's and everyone was into hair metal. Only a select few nerds listened to this stuff. I was more of a Zep, Hendrix fan. Then in the early nineties my friend joined a band and the singer was into Bauhaus, Bowie, and the Cure. He introduced me to 80's alternative, and I have been into these guys (and Bauhaus and the Cure) ever since. Right now I am going thru the same thing with Morphine. No one I know has a clue who they are. Oh well.
