  • will they die in freshwater? laso is it much harder to keep brackish compared to fresh? please reply

  • @FishMan329 Tire Track eels do NOT need to be kept in brackish water. They will live and thrive in a fully freshwater environment. I have had this eel for almost 6 years and he has never been sick, never had anything wrong with him, and eats like a hoss! :)

  • Tire Track Eels should not be kept in brackish you are killing its life span by a bunch of years.

  • That was like 2 years ago, and he's doing great. It didn't really have much salt in it. Within acceptable levels for the eel.

  • @Sentinel138 WRONG. Do a little research. They thrive in freshwater or slightly brackish water. They will not do well in a fully brackish environment.

  • i hav a freshwater aquarium with an angelfish 2 silver dollars 1 neon tetra( i know u r supposed to keep them with others) 2 platies 1 of them is a baby the mother died 2 zebra danios 2 rainbows and 2 corys you can check out my aquarium on youtube its called 45 gallon freshwater community aquarium

  • nice fish by the way and good luck i had to learn the hard way too i had a spotted and figure eight in my 70 gallon salt water tank and my spotted puffer killed my figure eight and they were even introduced at the same time

  • I have one puffer, but should I probibally have more??

  • Yeah, depending on your tank size. If you have under like 30 gallons, one or two is probably okay. They like to ahve company though.

  • can those things sting you if you put your hand in?

  • no but they bite hahaa

  • is $150 (Canadian) a good buy for a 20 gallon starter kit?

  • u can get better..... go to big als

  • i just bought a 55 gal. for 300 bucks starterkit

  • my 46 was 299.99 WTF

  • n it wasnt thats impossible

    maybe used

but still i donno amnyone who would sell it for that

  • you can make your own to whatever size you want cheap enough, thats what i did.

  • if that's a tire track eel, your gonna need a bigger tank than 20gallons eventually.

  • He does not need a bigger tank, at least not for the figure 8 puffers; they're happy in a 15-20 gallon.

  • u def need a bigger tank. and put some big plants in there too so they can hide and play amongst

  • have you ever had any problems with putting different species of puffers together?

  • yea, some say that they aren't compatable but it depends on the personality of the individual fish really

  • i mange to keep figure8's with many diffrent fish in community tank fish like parrot cichlids, tetras, gobies, kribensis, kulli loach, and many more

  • ur right mcp 4 once but maybe he has a degree?

  • you tank looks way to small and the puffers do look bored.

  • Your tire track is going to need a bigger tank at least 125 gallons or more. Eel you have can get to be over 29" long.

  • ur puffers look psycho going up and down tank i think they're bored
