@FishMan329 Tire Track eels do NOT need to be kept in brackish water. They will live and thrive in a fully freshwater environment. I have had this eel for almost 6 years and he has never been sick, never had anything wrong with him, and eats like a hoss! :)
@Sentinel138 WRONG. Do a little research. They thrive in freshwater or slightly brackish water. They will not do well in a fully brackish environment.
i hav a freshwater aquarium with an angelfish 2 silver dollars 1 neon tetra( i know u r supposed to keep them with others) 2 platies 1 of them is a baby the mother died 2 zebra danios 2 rainbows and 2 corys you can check out my aquarium on youtube its called 45 gallon freshwater community aquarium

Tire Track Eels should not be kept in brackish you are killing its life span by a bunch of years.

That was like 2 years ago, and he's doing great. It didn't really have much salt in it. Within acceptable levels for the eel.

I have one puffer, but should I probibally have more??

Yeah, depending on your tank size. If you have under like 30 gallons, one or two is probably okay. They like to ahve company though.

if that's a tire track eel, your gonna need a bigger tank than 20gallons eventually.
ciaputa 4 years ago
He does not need a bigger tank, at least not for the figure 8 puffers; they're happy in a 15-20 gallon.
fantom58 4 years ago
u def need a bigger tank. and put some big plants in there too so they can hide and play amongst
ntala 4 years ago
have you ever had any problems with putting different species of puffers together?
jeigo2 4 years ago
yea, some say that they aren't compatable but it depends on the personality of the individual fish really
ciaputa 4 years ago
i mange to keep figure8's with many diffrent fish in community tank fish like parrot cichlids, tetras, gobies, kribensis, kulli loach, and many more

you tank looks way to small and the puffers do look bored.
TheQuirkster 4 years ago
Your tire track is going to need a bigger tank at least 125 gallons or more. Eel you have can get to be over 29" long.
