@mapboy78 At the time this movie was released, Pam Grier was riding high in the blaxploitation film industry - she had already done one blaxploitation horror film, Scream Blacula Scream, released in 1973-
at 1:12 thats don pedro coley he played shootin sheriff little on dukes of hazzard I was at fan fest and saw he had a pciture of himself from this movie so I looked up the trailer looks campy in a good way
@kishaoh I read somewhere that she's still around, although she is no longer in acting - after this movie, she never made another, only taking bit parts in some of the 70's detective shows, like Baretta-
@christheone8773 Okay thanks. I had read somewhere that she was in Baretta. I have always loved this movie. I saw it on the Starz channel awhile back, but haven't seen it in a long time since then. I wish that I could find it on DVD. Thanks again.
@kishaoh youre most welcome - I had seen this movie on Starz as well, and I had even videotaped it - even though the plot and the acting was a bit cheesy, I still loved Marki Bey's character - I wish she had made another movie-
This video is awesome! Check out Randall Cooksey's Zombie-O-Rama from CNN on YouTube. WARNING: VERY TERRIFYING!! Legend has it he went coo-coo and used dead people and unspeakable swamp mojo from the bayou!! THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN !!
I love these flicks... remember going to the drive-in with my ma and two sisters. We were very young, but my ma could not get a baby-sitter so we towed with. Times were also liberal then, I saw movies I know I shouldn't have seen, but it was fun. What an experience!!!!
Yeah! I remember this shit, I saw this when I was a kid at the drive-in (remember those LOL!!) with my uncle and his then girlfriend (my aunt now of course 34 years later with their 3 adult children, my cousins LOL!!!) it was a double feature with Dawn of the Dead. Scared the shit out of me! Sugar Hill (a very underrated horror movie I might add) was a good horror flick with a mostly black cast and was why better than Dawn of the Dead (IMO).
Starring Marki Bey as Sugar Hill, with Robert Quarry, Charles Robinson, Zara Cully and Don Pedro Colley as Baron Zamedi. Now THIS is classic blaxploitation horror at its finest!
Ha ha, thats a funny question. You are referring to the guy in 01:22-01:24 but that is not Samuel Jackson but the guy does look like "Jules" which is a character Samuel Jackson played in Pulp Fiction. 00:49 thats Mother Jefferson from 70's sitcom "The Jeffersons"
Samuel Jackson's dad 1:23

The guy going up the stairs @ 0:06 is creepy. Was he floating? However the make up in this film is better than horror these days.

Looked to me like he was going down the stairs as if he'd been pushed.

Can anybody tell me where I can find the theme song to this movie. I can't locate the single anyplace.
It was called: "Supernatural Voodoo Woman" - by The Orignals. I believe they were with Motown.
