@tsierra713 It's a blend of sphagnum peat moss, composted fish bones & lobster shells, composted chicken & cow manure, peat humus, blood meal, kelp/seaweed and aged bark fines. An all purpose pre-fertilized planting and garden soil amendment. Excels as a nutrient rich top dressing and mulch.
Ahh, the gardening bug, once it bites, you will never quit. It bit us 5 years ago and every year we say, nothing bigger, but alas, we succumb and do what the garden instructs us to do. Our upsidedown plants have produced a lot this year, we only did tomatoes and cukes, but next year we will try the peppers upsidedown as well. You are doing great! Keep it up! Noreen
Thank you for the comment. I now have a hard time driving by a nursery without stopping to see what veggies they have. It's bad. Good luck with the peppers....and thank you for the friend invite. Thank you very much. Have a great day!
I don't know if you meant to ask me, but it showed up in my mailbox. Anyway I feed my hanging tomatoes a combination of fish emulsion and a vitamin supplement called superthrive. Very powerful stuff one teaspoon per gallon and you will be amazed! I also use compost tea and lots of rich organic compost. they love it!
Not sure who is asking what, but if you're asking me, the only thing was use Miracle Gro Potting Soil w/ Moisture Control, Miracle Gro Garden Soil, bumper crop, bone meal and blood meal. I used a little Miracle Gro for tomatoes on week 2. Other than that, I generally water once or twice per day...the containers don't give the plants much room to drink. Thanks for asking.
When did you start your garden? I'm also growing in topsy turvys but i don't have near the growth you do. I'm located in Pa. Mine are doing good, they just haven't taken off yet. I'm just getting my first buds on my pepper plants. Our weather has been weird though, lots of rain and cool temps, we're finally getting our first dose of hot sunny days. hopefully this helps.
I actually started mid May. The healthy plants may be beginners luck for me. Either way, I'm not complaining. The tomato plants were probably 12" tall when I started them in the topsy turvy. Good luck to you!
Did you originally have the TT Strawberry Planter? I got one for my girlfriend and it seems to be doing ok. But we'll see what happens after a few weeks.
No....I don't have the topsy turvy strawberry planter as I had no success at all. If you have any suggestions, I would be more than happy to hear it. I'd love to be able to have some thriving strawberries! Let me know.
Your stuff if growing awesome! I heard you say you are in Ohio and that is a ton of growth for up north. My sweet 100 tomato plant has tons of tomatoes too. No red ones yet on that plant but hopefully will soon.
I appreciate that. That's a compliment from someone with a green thumb like yours. I'm impressed with all of your plants. I just planted some eggplant tonite. Not sure when I'll stop.
Well I wouldn't say green thumb :). I had some more blossom end rot I found yesterday. This time on more of my peppers. So I have to spay them with the calcium spray which will do the trick. I'm probably going to go ahead and also pre-spray my eggplant and a few other tomato plants that have not gotten the end rot just in case.
You mention something about bumper crop as part of your feeding.....what is bumper crop?

I had the TT Strawberry Planter but was unsuccessful. It now lays devoid of soil and plant in a heap in the corner of my shed!

Do you still have your topsy turvy strawberry planter going? Any success?
