I mean yes, some minor effects like the sparkel when they shoot the alien looks better in CryEngine3. But overoll, the facial animation, body animatio and mostly everything looks so much better. It's beyond me how their new engine is step back from the older one.
@NukeMyHouse Exactly my point. But when you're playing in first person, as if you're literally looking through the character's eyes, you shouldn't be seeing any lens flare. Because it's not supposed to be a camera lens. It's supposed to be someone's eyes.
@GeekingForJesus Personally i like camera effects. Eyes are boring. I bet a lot of people would love to see vivid anamorphic flares in a sci fi game then dumb old lights.
I get these so called lens flares if i look through my low end digital camera at places with light, well at least you didn't add the ugly motion blur from crysis 2 xD . But anyway good job, these aren't so over exaggerated .
Hey XZero. Awesome effect. Could you tell me how can I use this? I have the ZBlendShading.pak and the zvignetting.pak. Which one do I need to enable this effect?
Very very nice work. This is one of my favorite effects, didnt think it could be put into CE2. I cant wait for this in-game either. Your DOF work seems to be turning out well too, keep up the good work
i jizzed my keyboard when i saw the lens flare

I hate video game lens flare effects when you're supposed to be looking through a person's eyes! I don't see that effect when I look at the sun...
GeekingForJesus 10 months ago
@GeekingForJesus Actually video games repliacte camera effects, not human eyes.

@GeekingForJesus But a nanosuit has a sort of glass lens thing, so lens flare is possible.

3biTDesigns 1 year ago
@3biTDesigns
AMD Athlon64 x2 4200+ (2.2GHz)
2GB RAM
EVGA 9800gtx+
700w PSU
The comp was a store-bought HP Pavilion 6000n PC, added a GB of RAM, the PSU and the GPU. Total cost is somewhere around 400-500$ or so.
I play at 1920x1080.

Did you use Timestep? seriously, whats the FPS count on this? lol

I did, but only for the recording. FPS count is a little lower than normal but still very playable.

Cant wait to try this out in-game. Now it will be just like the Star Trek and Mass Effect cameras :)

@CrysisNvid8800 Exactly what I was thinking! Star Trek and Mass Effect use a hell of a lot of lens flare :D
