  • You hit the nail on the head. it is sung in both contexts.

  • It hit me after the first word!!! That land, politically called South Africa was colonized and apartheided by the the white man!!! This song totally fits the situation. The white Jewish man really should be singing this in a Jewish context, referring to Israel. Just my take on this. I am Jewish, American and Israeli and I love this song. However, sung in S. Africa by native black S. Africans brought tears to my eyes!!!

  • I do not think the Caucasian should be a part of the group. That is what I think, he throws off that "earthy" classical feel. Point blank - he spoilt it.
