auto rotation takes the right altitude and more importantly forward speed. It would heavily depend on where you were. chances are you would never be able to safely pull that off in this. its hard enough in a real chopper and usually results in a very hard hit some times causing fires or boom strikes from the main rotor blades hitting the tail boom.
well what i think you mean is- wont it spin around in 360 cause of the lack of tail rotor. am i right?
well if i am they fixed that problem with "contra rotating rotor blades" which is two sets of rotor blades set on top of each other and they spin in opposite direction from each other thus getting rid of any torque. so there is no reason for a tail rotor. hoped this helped and if you have any other helicopter and airplane related questions just ask me.
Hello All, I agree with the previous two postings ! The inventor's name is Franz Schöffmann out of Stockerau, Austria. I have been searching high and low looking for contact info on Franz but am not having luck. ANYONE out there have contact info for Mr. Schöffmann, please let me know ! I'm looking to start a winter project here in Pennsylvanina, USA. Thanks !
Mike,i give you already the contacts inside our group ! or you hasn' get it ! ?? This Post i read the first time, but i think, because your project is already in a very good working, ist no more necessary ! ??
You can post me, or in the group, if you need it still !
Inventor is an austrian, last name Schuermann or something like that. Do a search on backpack helicopter and you'll see a later version. Uses 2 cycle kart engines.
was waiting for government planes to shoot him down

power of engine noise makes you deaf. vibrations of your brain making you sick.
you might be mad because your brain is near the high-powered engines.

This is going to end one of two ways
1. neck-down paralysis
2. decapitation
Either way, Darwin (and by extension the human genome) wins.

Doesn't seem to hard too build this, we can simply look at the geometry for RC helicopter and tweak the size of the rotor. True?
