hello my friend, i sold the blue M3 3.2 litre, so i have no new vids ;-) bit i still have the red m3 3.0 ... and my new project is: i want to learn drift with 4x4 (subaru legacy 2.0Turbo)
you can mount easy the LSD-diff from 318iS to a 320i, this is good, lower transmission for more speed and acceleration ;-)
Hey you, my 318iS is very good and easy to drifting, the car have LSD and a SPARCO-steeringwheel and som springs for a lower high, and very old tyres on the back, the rest is original, the car have 270.000km... And in switzerland are the parts for the car low prise... My 318iS works sideways easy in 3.gear, but there is one problem, it just works when its wet!!! I never drift or drive some AE86, in swiss they are very expensiv...
How's drifting that 318is? Is it good? Do you have an lsd? I'm thinkin of buying one too for drift. I'm between that and an AE86 corrola. Have you driven an AE86? What do you think?
what a poser comment. still, i'll help you in case one day you grow up. yes i've had both these cars you mention, they're comparable, as all 4-cylinder sports coupes/hatchbacks from the 80s. they are even closer because both rwd, not fwd or awd, and both without turbo charger. they are classics the bmw is better for everyday. it is stronger, safer, more comfortable (but not by much because it is base model bmw with no sound dampening). but the toyota is lighter and more pure, more old fashioned.
If you buy one, in both you must take out power-steering and go buy manual rack (from japan for toyota, from z3 for bmw) and probably the air-condition. you must buy coil-over suspension. the toyota is not as fast, but has more "soul" and because of its high-center of gravity (actually higher than pre-84 toyotas) it is possible to get sideways at low speed! but it helps to buy new LSD, (probably trd one). In the bmw too but probably more important = extra torque (buy Dinan chip - or better)
it's hard to say which is faster, the toyota is only strong after the t-vis at 4500 rpm, and only truly quick within 1000 of the redline, while the bmw is sluggish without chip around idle but after 3000 virtually no difference (only louder, more fun). both have extremely reliable engines and become race-cars with superchargers (4agze - bmw one is 3000$! great cars in general but now are old (200km+ so i recommend to you get whichever is easier more affordable to find in your area)
for drifting, the bmw could use plenty of sway bars such as from the m3 while the toyota needs performance clutch (the 318 everyone does 320 clutch conversion and it might be good enough, german parts such as brakes or clutch tend to last much longer than japanese). the bmw has excellent stock brake system, for 86 get japanese performance pads. don't waste your money on unnecessary things like carbon fiber fenders, save for good front tires!! both have 14", buy 15" if you have money!! goodluck!
LSD? very nice drifting! i will try it too with my new e30!

hello ;-) the engine is original, but tho only difference is like this.
on the wet track the exhaust-holder was broken, so i remove the exhaust!!!
the catalysator is sitill mount, but without the end-exhaust
this is easy on racetrack, but nothin legal for the street...
watch on my channel the new video with Eisenmann-exhaust on this 318iS
cheers from rotex ;-)

littlebighero 2 years ago
@littlebighero
Hallo, danke ;-)
gruss ;-D
rotexbmwdrift 2 years ago
@rotexbmwdrift
Dankeschön für die Schnelle, gute Auskunft
littlebighero 2 years ago
@littlebighero
