you merely misunderstood me. in more ways than one, actually. first of all i like old thrash, i like old punk (hardcore or otherwise) however it is oversimplified. and boring. but anyway, alot of the stuff i listen to is boring. however, the stuff i favor more has complicated riffing, twelve tonal scales, timing structures besides 4/4, which actually stems more from jazz than you may think. progressive rock (leading to progressive/technicaldeath metal) stemmed almost effortlesssly from jazz.
