I agree about the "free"! She's absolutely amazing! I just watched Idina Menzel and her National Anthem. These two women are my idols. Seriously. And yeah, I think the "spreadiness" was the feedback from the mic, not her. She's trained professionally in opera with a Master's Degree, so it couldn't possibly have been her. That's so high!!! She didn't even flinch or mess up or anything when the rockets exploded, either; I would have!

Kristin is unquestionably stronger, in both her technique and performance, than Sierra. The difference in age and experience are factors, of course, as are the differences in their vocal qualities. But Sierra tends to manufacture a mature, operatic sound where as Kristin has the technique to HAVE that mature operatic sound. I only hope Kristin will consider doing some legitimate operatic work!

No. She messed up. You can tell that she swallows 'was'. And you wouldn't have to pause like that if you were going to hit those notes. You need breathe support, but that's talking about taking a breathe into your diaphram and supporting through there.
