@lightinglavender A lot of stuff on the Internet about Doctor Who was written by people who really do seem to think it began in 2005.Another thing I've read is the theory that because The Doctor, that is The Tenth Doctor, is a man wearing glasses who is really a heroic alien and the last of his kind, he's a British version of Superman. And of course if you enter the words Doctor Who and Superman into Google the first thing you get is, Superman would beat him.

I have only seen a few of the older episodes but I knew before the current series that it had been around before, then again my mum used to watch it. I didn't know he'd only been the last of his kind for the past 5 years but I don't know much about the previous episodes.

@lightinglavender Doctor Who ran for 696 episodes between 1963 and 1989, and then an American TV Movie in 1996.The Time Lords of Gallifrey first appeared in The War Games in 1969 and last appeared on screen in 1986.All the existing episodes are gradually being released on DVD.

My problem is that Buffy fans claim that Doctor Who is only good now because of Buffys influence. Before Buffy existed Doctor Who ran for 26 years, which is more than three times as many years as Buffy. Why was that if it was no good?

I remember before Doctor Who returned in 2005, people were saying it was doomed to failure because it couldn't hope to compare with Buffy. Now enter the words Doctor Who and Buffy into Google and you get dozens of articles which either say Buffy's influence is undeniable, or that it flat out rips it off. Rose Tyler was an imitation of Buffy herself and so on. Most of Doctor Who predates Buffy, in fact nearly all of it.

The doctor and compaions take a breack from the the TARDIS to close a Hellmonth

under Cardif Tourchwood are too busy working on the rift. The hellmoth stops Dona from burnig up. Marta leaves UNIT to become a wather its just might work.
