  • would i be possible to do the same with an attiny85?

  • can i also made this with a 555 ic ?

    thanks for answer

  • If it needs so what programmer did you used ?

  • @liutas1245 You need a programmer, the hex file is available in the page listed above

  • I want to try this schematic and i have a question . Do I need to program this MIC ????

  • Can anyone please help what is the components I need? please write a list THANKS!

  • You didn't put zener diode on it??

    thanks !:)

  • @marc1979Guitare I believe he hasn't used a zener diode because the battery is only a 3V battery and the PIC12 is rated for 5.5V. If you look at the schematic, he actually stated he was using a 9-18V battery which he didn't opt for and therefore didn't need the zener diode.

The zener diode in the application he's stated in the schematic is actually wrong. The battery wouldn't last long with all of the wasted current and maybe even enough to burn it out.

  • me gusto mucho tu tutorial amigo

  • Very impressive indeed. I am going to build one of these for my Tamiya trucks. I can only see one resistor on the board, but there are two on the schematic? is the other resistor and the diode on the other side of the board? Can i use ordinary high brightness led's for this circuit??

  • disculpen amigos estoy buscando el archivo hexadecimal donde pueda programar un luz secuencial con el 555 y el 4017 quien me puede ayudar....????

  • Diogram /parts u used please

  • i tryed this and works very well thank you =]

  • can you make a how to plllleeeaaassseeeee

  • DO YOU SELL THESE ??

  • dude can u Design me something i want to make for my motorcycle Helmet ^___^

  • Could you please tell me, if you press the button and turn of the power. When the power is back on, will the pic start the program from the beginning or will it remember that you pushed the switch earlier?

  • what value of resistor did you use?

  • I am going to have to build one of these toys

  • where did you get the chip?

  • @MultiJohn12321 RS components

  • @denha RS as in Radio Shack, right? And is there any programming involved in this project!

  • @MultiJohn12321 You can also get them from Maplin Electronics

  • Send me a diorama please

  • hi can you send diagram plizzzzzzz

  • Very cool! And your multiplexing method is genius!

  • I recall making, back in the 80s, a chaser from a 555 timer and a counter chip with tip29s gating solid state relays, for chasing mains lamps for a rock band's lighting. Even without the TIP29s and the SSRs, the damn thing was 10 times this size and capable of only one straight sequence! How times have changed. Nice choice of LED colours BTW.

  • I love it your first 8led chaser would you mind to give schematic for that plz...

  • whoa that's a really cool light up!

  • that how they make small police lights

  • Hi! Is the program in the PIC, or you programing it?

The pic is same in both?

  • @qwartett

Yes ! .. That is good question. I want to ask the same thing? And if it need to program from myself how to do that? I'm begginer in microcontroller :/ ..

  • where could i get the flasher for this?

  • Hi ! I looked the schema on the website but this one is for a 9v and I need one for a 3v

  • PIC or 555

  • wow please make a video on how to make one please i really wamt one. and i cant find the thing on ur link...

  • nailbiter (6)

  • wypas

  • can i put more led's than 8

  • Comment removed

  • which are programming gate of PIC?

  • wheres the best place to buy these LED's and what are they called

  • You think thats cool, they have leds so small that you can inject them under your skin. Nano size in other words. The manufacturing company says you can have a tattoo that sparkles or maybe eyes light up, also for patients who need light reactive drugs.

  • really cool project brow.kudos.

  • WOW! u made that?

  • WOW!

  • i have notice that you can fade in out the leds...so can you programme it to have night rider trail effect and sell it to me then?

  • I got lights similar to those in my computer motherboard and I have no idea what they stand for.

  • Where'd you get those tiny LED's?

  • Very cool.

  • I am making this for a school project, in the schematic it calls for 2 resistors and 9vd/c how do you make it work with a coin battery and it looks like 4 resistors and a zener. is the schematic a little different for the smd version?

  • @walsethk Please look at the website of josepino.com

  • @denha I have it working perfectly in a solderless breadboard, i am now working on a surface mount and it will not work off a coin battery, the components are different on the surface mount board. i did look at the website and cannot find anything that helps me.. i appreciate all the help, i would love an A on this project

  • i want these for my toy ufos that i build can you tell me if you make them or where i can buy them?

  • YOU MADE THIS?

  • lol i so want one

  • The code is definitively diferent from josepino's.

Just see the pcb tracks, in the smd version, and you'll see that the circuit is a little bit diferent from josepino's. This is why the code is also diferent.

I made the circuit (josepino's),and programed the hex he has at it's site and the effect is a little different (specialy because half the leds are not 100% off).

As the josepino's has only the hex file, did you write a new code?

  • The code seems to be diferent from the one at Jose Pino's site.

At the site, the chaser has 4 modes:

    * LED CHASER MODE

    * BRAKE MODE

    * CHASER/BRAKE MODE

    * OFF.

Is this one using the code provided at the site (hex)?

Another question: is the source code available?

    Thanks

  • you have to program the pic or it will work just like that ?

  • besides being a cool paperweight wat else can this do?

  • These comments are all nerds. Then I saw the rainbow. :D

  • 555 timer? sorry if someone already asked

  • How to make it bro ( : i wanto make a siren light code3 red and blue white at centre( : please help ;)

    God Bless you! Ameen.

  • Mesmerizing.

  • nice project :)

    especially the SMD one

  • gibt es einen schaltplan dazu?

  • '

    wow nice rainbow LEDs,,,

    how about 20 LEDs chaser

  • me gusta tu creacion me puedes pasar el plano o diagrama porfavor

  • hola me gusto tu circuito de luces esta buenisimo te felicito gracias por compartir tus creaciones

  • 1:24 Sad panda is sad :[

  • @TheNeoJer lookis like a panda too!? lol

  • how did you do that? please send me what to do and what to buy..thanks

  • HOT!

  • Mini Christmas lights for all!

  • how to change the mode, its not in circuit diagram

  • i have downloaded same hex file for 8 led chaser, but how to change the mode ?

  • The SMD version is great!

  • @ivanmzr SMD??

  • @splexpo 1:10...?, the first part you can see the DIP design and later the SMD.

  • Hi. Where can i purchase one? I build circuit boards for model kits. How do you find the small led's?

  • what kind of SMD LEDs are those? they look cool.

  • well i just found my next project

  • I was assuming the LEDs were multiplexed. But when I pause the video at 1:16, it appears that the same color LEDs are in parallel. How are you getting one LED to illuminate at a time?

  • Please see the schematic diagram of Mr. josepino.

  • How ingenious! Thanks for the quick reply!

  • @Kaos116 It's actually very clever how it's done. The LEDs are connected in a whay which requires two outputs to be high to draw current, rather than one, so different combinations of the two would turn different LEDs on. It allows for a lot more outputs.

  • @curlywurlycraig I had never seen that before. Very ingenious! For those wondering, it's called 'Charlieplexing'. Wikipedia has a great article on it.

  • @Kaos116 Yeah! I think it's really cool. It's good that it allows a lot more outputs than you would expect, had me baffled for a bit.

  • @Kaos116 The LED's are connected to 5 lines.

Because electricity can only go through a LED in one direction, you can effectively connect two LED's to one PIC dataline. One in the normal direction, one the other way around.

The fifth dataline is used to select which pair of 4 led's is used. (current steering)

the first four LED's light up when this line is low, and the second four led's light p when this line is high.

  • @Kaos116 they are not in parallel, every other LED has to be connected in reverse... 4 pins positive/negative switching could result in controlling 8 leds total in this fashion, I'd reckon some programming is needed for such effects :)

  • is that a 555 timer IC?

  • PIC12F629

  • if you made this in the old times you would have billions of dollars in one day(when there was no tech like this)

  • i had a bigger one of these and the battery went flat so i made it use USB powered but unfortunately it burnt out in about 50 mins. can you get home kits to make these? cause it looks like a fun hobby

  • you could put it on your automatic car

  • I shouldn't be fascinated by this...They're just lights on a circuit board...But I love it.

  • yaaaay knight rideeeer, nearly xD

  • did you need to program the IC with an arduino (or comparable device)??, or was it pre-programmed, and you just needed to wire it up a certain way?? thanks for your help. -Joe

  • awsome can u buy them i want one

  • What kind of led did you use! its soooooooo small!

  • how 'bout you do it yourself. lazy asshole.

  • how does it work if there are 8leds and an 8pin microcontroller? how does the button connect to it as well?

  • someone is probably going to correct me but looking at that it looks like he's commoned up the 0 volt and mounted the led's in banks of 2 with each led in each bank connected opposite polarity, essentially a 2x4 matrix. hence only 4 outputs needed.

  • thanks for the reply - i never considered you could do that!

  • Put that on your car and pull people over, haha.

  • lolololol

  • are you used a 12Fxxx PIC?

  • 12F629

  • i think when the scientist people that made that name took their cat and let them walk over them and they say : We have a name on that thing!

  • thats pretty cool

  • I love gadgets like this...it is great fun when you build them yourself :o)

  • what kind of LED do you use?

  • Where could I get the equipment for this?

    It's very interesting.

  • Put one in a model police car. That would be cool.

  • i never understand how these work...

  • That black thing in the center is a microcontroller. You can program it like a computer program. So you just program it to turn on and turn off the led as you want.

  • nice... looks very professional

  • wow

  • Does anybody know where these can be purchased?

  • whats the point of that, what are we going to need to do,make police lights? lol im just saying, its really cool though

  • your hands look like you got heard!

  • cool guy.

  • My dad made me one of these and can omone please tanslate this? どちらもメチャ綺麗ですね^^、部品を一つ一つ組んだんでしょう か?、こうゆう仕組みを知らない俺にはどう作ったのか見当もつき ません。凄いです^^。 wats does gthat mean !?!?!

  • Both being [mechiya] clean, the shank ^^, the part individual it united, it is probably will be? Whether, like this in we which does not know the [yu] [u] mechanism how it made estimate it has, it does not come. The ^^ which is enormous and is.

    babblefish ftw

  • It is both beautiful MECHA ^ ^, I'm one of the parts together? , I do not know how the public has no idea what made TSUKIMASEN. It is amazing ^ ^.

  • Its means:

It is both beautiful MECHA ^ ^, I'm one of the parts together? , I do not know how the public has no idea what made TSUKIMASEN. It is amazing ^ ^.

  • it means STFU in short

  • :D coOL LOol :D

  • I like the first one on the test board better. The LEDs were closer together and it gave it a cooler effect.

    Still neat though!

  • hi , im new.

    i got a question,

from ur circuit u connect 2 led in parallel with one output from the pic, but how come u can make one of the led in parallel on and another off ?that 2 are from the same output. thanks

  • Please search this.

Led Chaser Version 2, Improved. Use it as "Led chaser" or "Third Brake Light"

  • erm i still dont get it :(

  • can u show me the schmatics for this i would like to mack one .

P.S Love all your work :-)

  • どちらもメチャ綺麗ですね^^、部品を一つ一つ組んだんでしょうか?、こうゆう仕組みを知らない俺にはどう作ったのか見当もつきません。凄いです^^。

  • u are awesome

  • i love all your inventions. They're so cool!
