Ever hear of a little thing called "hospital visitation rights"? Your loved one--your FAMILY--is sick and in the hospital...only you're not allowed to see 'em, cuz you're gay, not married, and not LEGALLY family. Imagine that...not getting to spend your loved one's potentially last hours BECAUSE YOU'RE GAY and can't get married.
Same with inheritance, children, etc...

@Ezldor legal issues that protect your spouse under marriage are not available to non married persons. Hospital decisions over health when spouse is ill. Inheritance protections that grantee after twenty years of partnership you can still live in a house where you jointly raised children. The legal issues go on and on pertaining to marriage, to many to list. The real legal and societal issue here is the sexual discrimination occurring in contract law: contract law that discriminates sex.

@daedamot The microphone on my webcam? Not USING a webcam. On the external camera I've GOT, there is no microphone jack, so I record on the laptop and sync 'em up with a movie clapper in post. And the mic on the camera SUCKS.
As for a separate microphone, don't own one; wanna buy one for me? Cuz I'm mostly broke over here.
Otherwise, I'm sticking with the headset, cuz it's what I've got that works best.

It can't be a coincidence that the people who are so deadset against same-sex marriage are the same people who wrecked the economy in the first place. You want a prosperous economy? Then support efforts to stop squandering resources on preventing people from marrying people they are sincerely in love with so those resources can be applied to the creation of jobs instead.

Whoever this guy is, his argument is never valid regarding any minority at any point in human history. Example, during World War I, women fought for equal rights. Protesting outside the White House was considered treason, and many were arrested, but in the end they won their rights
If this guy was living there at that time, and told these women to chill out and wait since the country has bigger problems, they would intellectually bash his ass. The time for all equal rights is now, not later.

This whole same sex-marriage discussion is getting old, when will people realize that the marriage of someone else doesn't affect their lives in the slightest.
I really do hope that things will turn for the better in other countries(I live in the Netherlands, where it's legal and most churches are willing to marry same sex couples).
Whilst I have nothing to gain from gay marriage, I really think that in all civilized nations it should be allowed, it simply has to do with human rights.
