  • some sweet info here

  • Hummm,, I got an idea, let cut this relic into 4 sections, sound good ?

  • U-boat commander: " To hell with this hans get the spirts hermann get the condoms we our going to Argantina "

  • Considering the fact that its now been cut into pieces in an act of short sighted vandalism, maybe it would have been best to leave it to rest in peace at the bottom of the sea.

  • How many World War 1 and World War 2 Subs are within Reach to be Raised ? We owe it to them and their Crews to retrieve them and out them in Museums for People of all time to understand what their crews went through as Sailors dedicated to their countries did for what the ythought was right. Each Sub is a Piece of History ans a Monument to what Humanity did to itself right or wrong.

They each are History of the 20th Century

  • gold lol, well I guess thats the way to bait investors

  • All seeman escaped the u-boot.

  • 3:44 they look like condoms

  • @mrtrainboy019 because they are.....

  • if i drowned inside a submarine i would not want my remains to stay inside. i would vastly prefer that my remains be brought to the surface instead of being sealed inside a steel tube forever

  • The large condoms were used as baloons carrying strips of foil to fool enermy radar. The small condoms were used for... Were there females aboard that sub?

  • if it sank how comes its so intact? and what about bodies ?

  • @paulhunter123 Yea.. for 48 years it's surprisingly in good condition. Tho their could be a reason why it's intact, even the slightest damage to a u boat in the right area, could make it go down slowly but the submerge tanks are too damaged(based theory on the crew escaped).. yea, it's not worth sticking in, especially if you sink too low and.. water pressure, imagine crushing a beer can and being in it.

  • @paulhunter123 Did you watch the video? All crew were rescued...

  • It's cool how the AA guns are still pointed skywards.

  • If I was one of the veterans of the U-Boat and they found the jumbo sized condoms, I would have been like "Oh yeah those are mine, they had to special order them..." Giggity.

  • All sunken U-boats are recognized as war graves under international law. Due respect ought to be given to the mortal remains of U-534's crew. The German U-boat crews were brave men and skilful seamen whose only crime was that fought for their country, which to any right-minded person is no crime.

  • Good thing Geraldo wasn't there or they wouldn't have found shit.

  • We scuttled the Uboats so the Russians wouldn't get hurt playing on them.

  • You have to love the way the British say "Tomato Ketsup" with such a regal flair. Oh and to Speeddemon3, if it weren't for the "fucking Americans" during World War II, the world might be a very different place today. As we say in America today, don't freakin go there!

  • Its obvious what its mission was. It was a party sub. They were celebrating the end of the war, but some allied asshole fucked up their mission for Swedish pussy.

  • ..the small condoms were meant for allied POW's :))))))

  • U-Boats had such a huge loss why would anyone ever put anything of value on board if they wanted it back like they say Hitler fleed in a U-boat but all the U-boats sunk I doubt he would get on one

  • I wonder, did they ever find any gold. I hope they didn't try to drink that booze they found because that might lead to then trying those old rubbers! I would like to see this old sub and all the artifacts associated with it in a complete museum setup. That would be awsome!

  • The whole crew escaped? and they wanted to know where it was going ''the day of the German surrender'' ?

Why didn't they just ASK the survivors aka: the old men in the vid above?

  • U-Boat 533 was found off shore in FUJAIRAH in U.A.E just last week .

  • heeey!! i am from Denmark

  • whats with all the black reporters? affirmative action gone wild?

  • All the crew escaped the sinking?

    Bloody good to hear!

  • forget gold!!! the british just bombed the mother of all party subs, booze and comdoms, they where just heading north to pick up some sweeedish girls to celebrate !!

  • @bongokaktus Even if it was quite a sinister period for the Kriegsmarine !

  • @bongokaktus yea there are videos on here now of those subs with planes really kool stuff

  • nothing wrong with the sub!!! dry it and sail again

  • when was this broadcasted?

  • hahahaha condoms!

  • LOL

    Condom ballons!!!

  • If anyone here expresses an intrest in ship wrecks and u-boats, i recommend downloading the latest google earth , it shows all of the ships sunken on record , there are many u-boats on there too.

  • scuttled all their subs? are they stupid? 234 what a waste its like the us chucking all our f-22s

  • They lost the war and didn't wan't the enemy to have them.

  • Don;t unterestimate the Russians. There stuff might not look fancy, but it sure is rugged!

My grandfather served with "Divison Wiking" and told me that they, when they had the chance, replaced their smg's for russian built's because you could throw them into the dirt, pick them up and they would still shoot. The German weapons had a tendency to jam if not kept metisulously clean. Try to keep something clean in the russian mud loaden terrain during the spring rains or autumn.

  • Oh I agree, I believe it! I'm basing my opinion on historical F-Ups Russia has made. I'm speaking of the K-19, Chernobyl's deadly legacy.. even as close as 99 when the Kursk disappeared. I don't know what the f-ck is wrong with these people! They have known not to test or push their own technology because it isn't built right, they lack equipment, or are just being pushed by commanders who want to look good and these mistakes have led to deadly results and they haven't fire a single shot yet.

  • those subs must have been inormass how did the retreive them or did they have to crash land them

  • They landed in the water. To store them, they were disassembled. Lookup "I-400_class_submarine" at en.wikipedia.

  • thanks alot i didnt know that and i will look them up its always been a puzle to me how they get them back onboard so thank you bye

  • Well I will assume you are Russian or Ukrainian, I didn't view your profile, I apologize if I'm wrong. But as for the "arrogance" I'm again assuming you think I'm American, which is wrong. Canadians don't think like our negative southern neighbors.

Yes..Russia and it's former Soviet Union have indeed made marvelous advances in technology, no one doubts this! But it is nerve wracking to think that past Russian & S.U. gov'ts have pushed their technology past safety points and failed.

  • Very good perception. My mother was Ukranian and Father Russian. Thank you for your objectivity. Incidenly , I was born in Canada. What part are you from ?

  • No thanks needed!

I was born in Scarborough and remained there until I was 12 when we picked up and moved 200 kms north. I'm currently in Peterborough. Scarborough is now only an 1.5 hrs drive!

  • @Speeddemon3 - If I may, you are using an American web site, while making very nasty, uncalled for and disparaging remarks about Americans. Have some common decency and respect, or do Canadians lack that?

  • All I'm sayying is they need to be critical of safety while researching technology, not technology and then safety. Communist and other installed govt's have pushed to hard wanting to be first to do this or that against other technological country's. Then mistakes are made that snowball into terrible disasters that have put thousands at risk and they pay for it. That's not arrogance my friend, that's just diligent thinking.

  • Well I think that you are forgetting it was captured German scientists that made it possible for both countries to make the giant leaps forward in rocket technology after the war. The only reason Russian's achieved the things they did before the US is thier frightening disreguard for the safety of thier own personell, you know first at any cost.

  • @Speeddemon3 The US did not want Canada to get them sorry.

  • @Speeddemon3 Simple. The russians entered the Pacific war after the Hiroshima bomb was dropped, and unless they were a combatant, no war prizes.

  • Als alter U-Bootfahrer (16 Fahrten auf U703)

    im Eismeer.

Mir gefällt das Video, es ist realistsch!

    Grußwilliam

  • why is the u-boat 534 so famous ?

  • Because ir's one of the only 4 remaining U-boats of WWII

  • oh thanx

  • im disgusted they cut it up. im english and theres no way ill go pay and see how theyve fucked it up just so one disabled person a year can have a look. an old crew member was reunited with his leather jacket i seem to remember, he almost went back in for it when it was sinking.

  • Hope they dont raise check out, diving u boat 218.

  • heard she has now been scrapped ?

  • She's been cut into 4 sections and is on display by a ferry terminal in Liverpool...real waste as they are trying to fund the raising of a similar "U" boat off the Irish Coast and are having difficulties getting the money for the project. They should have taken this boat complete, rather than cut it up!!!!!!!!

  • Damn the allies, always steeling stuff like U-505

  • Isn't This U-boat Restorated, or are they busy with her in England?

  • erm sort of they made it able to go in but its still a big rusting hulk

i dunno wats happened to it now though cos the place were they had closed the other year

  • Restorated???? Restored maybe? No its been cut up into 4 sections...

  • say no to scrap. The Germans had the best and the most subs in the world. You would have to be a friggn idiot to scrap our heritage. It,s a piece of living history

  • THe big condoms were used as ballons to fool the radar? I heard the living crew members swore that is was the small condoms that were used as balloons to fool the radar.HEE HEE

  • Watch the video again at 1:43. All 52 crew members left the sub...

  • Thats right if no one died on it its not a wargrave there four its ok to raise it

  • thats just like a grave to those sailors they should of left it at the bottom

  • awsome-picking up a sub from the sea bottom awsome. cudos to the salvage crew-windhamman -USA

  • amazing

  • nobody would want a tot of the whiskey? GIVE ME A CLEAN GLASS AND THAT BOTTLE MATE!!!!

  • Well what did they end up finding in there? Anything of value?

  • No - nothing but mud and condoms.

  • Are there any of these German subs that have been restored to fully functional;less armament of course? They have such beautiful sweeping lines it would quite an attractive edition to history and the world. Similar to what has been accomplished with Tiger 131 at Bovington.

  • sweet

  • check my channel to see it, i recorded it just a few days ago

  • Why only 2? U505, U534 and U995 in Germany.

  • the people that own it are going to chop it in 3!!! its one of two origial u-boats!

see my channel for more information and how you can petition online to save it!!!

    hurry!!! time is running out!!!

  • isnt there a u boat set in bavaria film studios in munich? you don't mean that do you?

  • I remember walking through two U-boats, (a WW I & a WW II model) in a museum in Munich. Does anyone happen to know the particulars of those two models?

They were cut open & I remember thinking what a shame that they were so!

Very interesting video, I would love to have had witnessed the actual event.

    Thanks for the post.

  • All this nonsense about Nazi gold...don't people realize there are only 2 intact IX type u-boats left in the world? They should care more about u534 as a rare artifact from a dark time in human history than a gold reservoir.

  • I agree with you . I believe the loot often encourages investment in these salvage operations.

  • thank you!

  • It's sad that U-534 is being cut up into sections to make a museum, too.

  • Well, either those people save her, or she is cut up for scrap. Although it is a shame that she is going to be cut up, atleast she will be cut in such a fashion she can be put back together in the future. They are cutting along the original lines in which she was constructed. She was VERY CLOSE to being COMPLETELY destroyed for scrap, mind you.

  • That is very good news that it's being de-constructed in manner where the integrity can be restored in the future. I had visions of those museum exhibits of rare items that have been sectioned for display--essentially destroyed. Any relic saved from the scrapper is a good thing.

  • That's what I had envisioned too! But from what I hear, they are going to be doing a very percision job cutting her into sections. It's still bad, but atleast they will be able to put her back together once they get a bigger building ready. If they do, that is. And this way she will be MUCH easier to restore.

  • I want more!!!!!!

    that was really cool

  • Me too! I like seeing this stuff.

  • Using condoms and aluminum foil to "foil" allied radar=priceless!

  • very interesting , thanks

  • IT WAS RAISED ON MY BIRTHDAY.........orhf;din

  • Super video !!!

  • I read a little more, just a bit I quickly found on the internet, after seeing the video, but the comment section won't allow me to include a link. It's worth the search, though. Very interesting. Thank you very much for putting this up.
