Wow it looks incredibly fast... Much faster than I expected actually... Surely Ferraris do sound like tuned Civics, but I'm afraid it might not be enough to keep me from wanting one :( I'd just take it for a spin a few times, then sell and buy some Corvettes instead :P

And the best sound was of course at 1:46 - as Clarkson said (although in totally different context): "learn, Ferrari" ;)

ferraris sound in no way like tuned civics...they have a hollow but melodic surge of sound u can almost hear every piston firing..plus the newer ones and even the old 360 cs have a valve in the exhaust manifold that opens up at like 4000 rpm to aid with aspiration and as a result makes it even louder and even more wild...a tuned civic sounds like flooring de-resonated dirtbike

@CarzCrazyPG You're absolutely right - yes, there are valves in the exhaust and they make the sound louder and wilder. But this only makes sense if the sound is nice (like in LP-560 for example)! You're also right about the Civics - they sound awfull and that's why even the tuned ones are horrible. Same story here - I don't care about the valves if the engine itself sounds bad. YT doesn't allow printing links, but search for "Honda civic perfect sound!". That really is similar IMO. Sadly...

But his opinion is totally different to mine, because he said that in the 80s (when Ferraris still sounded good IMO). And he loves the new ones... Well, I guess it depends on what you like - I like the classic (and american) sound of V8s, which is low, deep and roars. I don't think any of us will change his mind :)

I love the roar and rumble of american v8's as well (the 67 mustang fastback for example is one of the 7 wonders of the world sound-wise haha). but for me its not just sound itself its the whole image of the car. i like the passion, flare, quality and the super fast gear changes of today's ferraris. american muscle only look and sound good..when i see american muscle 'quality' and 'engineering perfection' arent words that come to mind haha

Of course it's not EXACTLY the same, but makes the same type of sound - loud, noisy and most of all HIGH.

After all the "I love Ferraris sound" comments I started wondering why people like it and here's what I figured: maybe it's because of the high revs you can get in these engines? It sort of increases the tension during the acceleration - we're amazed by how high it can get and that indeed can be cool. But sound good? No...
