This is obviously not Russian, as they messed the name Anna Petrovna by calling her "Anna Petrovich". She would not be called Anna Petrovich, as that is the masculine ending added to her father's name, and that would be used for a man. So Nikolay Petrovich would be correct, and Anna Petrovna would be correct, but Anna Petrovich is not correct at all.
@DeltaGhost78 This skit is for comedy purposes only and not to be taken too seriously, such as "Srpski Institute for the Criminally Insane" being from Serbia, not Russia.
@charliethemaddawg I am aware of that, however some people were asking if this was Russian even though English is spoken, so I pointed out that is an indicator that it is certainly not Russian (Unless they felt like messing it up for some reason).
Vhat they should've done was make all of de Republics different colors. Den Feliks could actually know wheech republic he was putting the stickies onto.
The definite article in front of "Ukraine" is sometimes used because it has been regarded grammatically correct in the past even though it isn't any more and because old habits die hard. Nowadays its use is discouraged.
@fearandloathing42 LMFAO speaking Hetalia-wise that's the one thing thats incorrect with the "In Soviet Russia" XD Why?Because Russia is a biiiiiig country ;D Oh god I can't believe I just said that....OTL
If I can justify this show: it's SCTV, a Canadian comedy show of the 80s. It spoofed bad TV and silly broadcasting rules (esp. the 30-% Canadian-content rule (you get money from the govt if you can justify that 30 percent of your show is CDN -- hence the "Great White North" segment.))
Also: SCTV wanted to move production to the US (bigger TV audience) and so they featured content that would make Yankees laugh -- like the above.
Sorry if it's offensive -- I didn't watch it much myself.
Darn Uzbeks !!! They are a blight on humanity !
