There's no reason for most phones to be the price they are, including the iphone 4. The companies are banking on cheap labor and overpriced devices. Even if red84ro is right and living is cheap over there, companies will outsource to people that will turn a product around for the biggest profit. Companies are rarely about working conditions or employee happiness, even employee retention and safty is just there for profit and to cover their own ass.

If they charged a proper minimum wage rate, it would not force the product to go up in price- the profit they make would more than cover a minimum wage for everyone. The only reason they don't want to pay properly, is because then the profit margin wouldn't be as incredibly as high as it is (which even at the lowest, would still be incredibly high). Unfortunately, because of stakeholders, stocks, shareholders, etc.... forces corporations to make the bottom line (profit) the number one priority.

anyway, the life conditions in that country will get better over time, and wages/the way corperations treat their employees/the fines for pollution will change, but the costs enhance at the same time, and after a decade the corperations would go to another country to rip off people.

I don't get why people are excited about the new iPhone...

1) It's ugly. I personally liked the beveled back much better than the two sided, flat, glass surfaces.

2) The only new features are iOS4 (which- I believe- can be downloaded onto any earlier model), an A4 processor, and front-video chatting (which you can only use with another iPhone 4 owner, conveniently enough)

3) There will be a new "better" one next year...
