I hope he manages to keep OFF the TV to be honest. He makes his living by people going to see him and watching him live is by far the best way to enjoy his material. He's a great individual performer and TYV eats up his material far too quickly. If you like him book a night out when he's in your area and turn the Tv OFF!!
Aw, thanks for posting this gorgeous song. I've also been following RD since the 70s, when he was on Capital Radio every week doing a right ol' East End Ding Dong. I see him now when he comes to Worthing. He's still fabulous.
I have been watching Richard since the 70s back in the days when he was accompanied by a guy called Doug Morter he is still as good as he was back then thanks for the memories
Didn't realise he was still touring with his comedy... he seemed to drift off into the folk music world. I remember him on telly all the time when I was a kid and loved his stuff... especially the "Annual Cartoon Characters Ball" song!!
Brilliant. Thank you so much for posting this. Not sure I've got a favourite serious or funny song of his. So many times I think I have then I hear another one and think, o'h this is my favourite........ Tx
Years on since i last saw Richard, living abroad makes it hard to see the great man, he aint changed at all, still masterclass.

Vincent Van Gough? Surely that's Richard Thompson?
And the John Lennon one looks suspiciously like the Mona Lisa.

A very very beautiful song, Richard. Thank you. The lyrics are so unostenatious and yet so poignant. Genius.
