There is one simple reason why I think mind altering drugs can have the kicking in the door effect on some people. The starting proposition is what if there is a very powerful psychic dampening effect that limits natural psychic awareness of those who participate in this culture?

Certain drugs disrupt this mind control field. This effect is not universal. For those who are turned off to drug concept are stuck and unconscious believing in this rigid reality matrix.
