  • theyre really good

  • Great sounds

  • quite awesome-if i am not careful,i could become obsessed with these guys ;-)

  • Learned to play the guitar listening to Ventures records, later used the Mosrite Bass in a band in which I played, later went to a Fender Jazz. The Ventures were very much a part of my youth. Greatest guitar band of all time (with no disrespect to Dick Dale)

  • Pure music, and one of the best drummers of all time.

  • Timeless

  • The Ventures, the best and greatest world Music group !!!!

  • They're all playing Mosrite guitars. Promotional deal perhaps?

  • before Snoop Dog Snoop and LL Cool J.

  • I remember when my brother's band manager was getting them all Mosrite Venture model Guitars when they were made in Bakersfield. I loved the Double Neck when I saw the Ventures using it.

  • anyone has a mosrite for sale??? ha, ha I wish

  • i like jfa's cover

  • I know Bob switched, am friends with Don son Tim, have autograph guitar, Bob was quite the guitar player. If you watch and listen carefully, he will play lead on the bass with Nokie and bass at the same time. Check out wipeout in 64, all three are playing the same lead in the middle, have followed the Ventures sense 1960.

  • @FenrirLupus on the back of the ventures guitar song book an add the ventures play the most advanced guitar on the market today the MOSRITE with patented ball bearing bridge [ they actually said they like fenders better the frets were too close together and the necks wee too narrow on mosrites]

  • watch bob bogle play lead on the bass with nokie

  • @stlouiscards70 Bob switched from guitar to bass when nokie joined the group

  • wow this stuff is amazing!

  • These guys are just awesome... love it!

  • When I first heard this song, I thought it was a '50s song.

  • @GreenPencil305 It was brought out in the '50's

  • Absolutely wonderful! This is real talent. Such a tight sound :)

  • I finally found out what guitar Noakie and Don are playing: they're 1961 Mosrites

  • '60 version rules but WMG & EMI put an end to that.

  • I think I prefer the recorded version but is Nokie not the coolest dude on the planet? When I play their stuff in my bedroom i have to concentrate but he looks like he's thinking what he's going to have for his tea! Does he ever look at the fretboard?

Caught some of his later stuff on YT and he is a fabulous player.

  • @mickd3161 When nokie joined the ventures bob bogle switched to bass

  • anyone notice that they included something ripped from the Chantay's song Pipeline that wasn't in the original song? Chantays were hot in the early 60's also when instrumental bands were popular. If this was 64, Chantays had pipeline out a year or so before...still, an ispiration to me as that when when I first started playing.

  • @butchcee right they are doing those glissandos right out of the mel bay guitar method to update a johnny smith jazz number into a surf instro

  • @FenrirLupus I bet.

  • I love that guitar sound, I don't know much about guitars but my ears like them.

  • @Keijz74 there was no heavy metal then this was the heavy metal of then

  • love those old fender bandmaster amps, what a cool looking setup!

  • nice performance

  • A fookin' great version!!!

  • skate rock in 64???

  • @dvs1572 More like mid-wave surf music. Great stuff too.

  • @dvs1572 Try surf rock.

  • @GreatKyubi I already did.

Peace my friend, I know what you are saying is true.

  • What a great version

  • The switch to Mosrite was ill advised.

  • @gbc77000 i have to disagree. I love that big twangy sound of the mosrites, especially for this music. The switch away from Mosrite weakened the sound to my ears at least.
