This was the real green hornet movie to me not that hollyweid bs they where pushing and they knew that crap of movie was going to be shitty they suckered. Alot of people out of their money but not mines
I greatly enjoyed this mini movie; one question: did I hear right, the hood behind the desk called The Green Hornet "Mr Reid" and the Hornet turned around. Was that a typo or did his secret identity somehow get revealed? If anyone knows, pl;ease pass along that information. Thanks.
Good cinematography, good sets and costuming, hell even the casting of Kato and Hornet are pretty damn good from what little dialogue I hear BUT I tend to agree with the guy who said you completely missed the point with the Green Hornet. He's not Batman, and that's what this trailer makes him feel like. Hornet's biggest unique underlying factor was the fact that he acted like a criminal and brought down the underworld from the inside.

I am absolutely awed by this short film. You guys are incredible. It's people like you who should deserve multi-million dollar movie budgets instead of the buffoon Michel Gondry who made the recent Green Hornet movie.
What a piece of shit...the scenario is for dumbos and what can you say with that clown playing so called hero ( a fat rich unbearable asshole who never work in his life and wich is very rude with his employees..holywood lost his mind...
Most us have already seen the movie. And I think it's somewhat disappointing. The Green Hornet scenes are good but the rest are from a Bing Crosby/Bob Hope 'buddy movie script unfortunately. And the character of Breit Reid was lost and replaced with a poor and over exaggerated Tony Stark. Don't expect a sequel here!
i think the great mistake of the new Green Hornet hollywod movie, was that for some strange reason..they thought that Kato needs camera effects to make a good fighting scene, a mistake these guys didn't made..I hate fighting scenes with excess of camera effects...

I have seen The Green Hornet in advance. Bad storyline. Seth Rogen was just another Will Ferrell behind the mask. Jay Chou improves his english but his acting still monotonous. It's just 100% Action-Packed Comedy. Too much CGi... the fight scenes remind you of Jet Li's The One.. Just that The Green Hornet film has too much of it.. making the film ain't cool at all.
This was really good - although the green filter throughout the entire movie was distracting - check the Matrix for a good usage of green filters. GREAT fight cherography, but NO ONE had guns? To establish bad-assadry in a modern film, you have to show them dealing with guns. This being said, its probably better than the Seth Rogan one.
I really liked these two guy, seriously!!!! This is the flavor they should've given the recent remake. This guy as Hornet is the man!!!! Kato was cool, as well. But I think Chou could've worked well with this Hornet. That would've worked nicely!!!
Just got back from a pre screening of The Green Hornet . The Actor for the lead roll
was totally obnoxtious ,overbearing and ridiculous . His potrayal was the lowest part
of the movie . The Series was much superior in form and delivery of character . There were racial shenanigans being created around an attempted love scene
between Kato and the blond lead actress which was very disturbing to witness in
these "enlighten times" . The movie was a real letdown .
@TheAmazingstarman I've seen it. The problem is that it's not the Green Hornet. I don't care what they say, it is completely different. I wouldn't have any issue with it if it hadn't been called the Green Hornet, because the Hornet is way too badass for Seth Rogen, and that movie. Sorry man, but this is just way more like the original TV series, and radio show.

The new Green Hornet is a different one, accept it or not, nobody cares. Look at it this way, the old Batman's (which I like) were generally strange, the bad ones even funny. So the new Batman's from Nolan are serious and dark. Now take the Green Hornet - dark, serious? - turn it into something more open.

@180proof It wasn't that bad, it wasn't great either but more so than just a popcorn flick and nothing more... I had fun with it, not once was I bored and of course the comedy was good but I know some fans despise Rogen and his comedy writing team.... Don't worry If you have the original comics, the tv series just stick to those for now until they make a more serious Green Hornet movie..
They're doing the Myth Busters special on the Green Hornet movie and so far none of the stunts are holding up. Actually, the new movie looks sooo bad that it's a shame they made it. Seth Rogan..c'mon give me a break!!
You guys got it right! Hollywood got it wrong! I hate the fact that they are making it a comedy and campy. It's is a disgrace to the old radio series that made Green Hornet the cult classic it is. Maybe there will be such and reaction to it that they will try to get it right the second time.
@bertalot Nicely said. I had a feeling it would probably be more about comedy just from the fact that Rogen will be GH, perhaps making GH a bit goofy. It'll probably flop. Nothing against Rogen...he's just not the right fit, but who knows, I felt the same about Michael Keaton. But at least he wasn't chubby & geeky. They got Kato wrong too.

Okay... this could go over big in China and Japan, if it hasn't already. A truer homage to the Van Williams/Bruce Lee style of the Reid/Kato team. (And I see the Hornet has some kung-fu moves of his own, thanks to Kato I presume.) Somehow I mistook the trailer for this short for the coming Seth Rogen feature. How I'd hoped Rogen was going to pull a 180 turn, like Michael Keaton's BATMAN of 1989. No such luck. Hope this short does better than the feature.
I'm re-watching this again now (saw it for the first time a couple years back) and I do have to agree, it is really really good. I have my doubts that the new movie will be even watchable, but we'll see.
hell, I've been overdosing on Hornet lately, I've been watching the two serials from 1940 or so and they were actually pretty decent..the first set was a tiny bit better than the second serial, though..but very good.
Here's why this could have been cooler than it is: Would this have been any less or more interesting is it was Batman and Robin instead of Green Hornet and Kato?
There is nothing about this short that is character specific to The Green Hornet. There was no mention of the way he "plays the villain" in order to manipulate the genuine criminals, nor did he use his gas gun.
I admit this was well made, but there is nothing about this short that makes The Green Hornet seem unique.
@ironman004 maybe you missed the beginning of the clip? it clearly says how green hornet is the most wanted criminal by the police. batman's wanted for vigilantism, not criminality. as for the gas gun, it was probably missing due to a low budget.
and i think it shows enough about green hornet to seem unique...since when is the sidekick ever asian and/or better at fighting than the main hero? that can't be replaced with batman and robin.
@xviolentphilx One of the greatest things about the tv show and the old serials were the scenes when the Green Hornet literally demanded a share in the criminals activities. Not unlike what the Joker does to the mob in The Dark Knight. In this, he just tells him that they will be watching.
It's not just that the police and the public think he's a villain. He wants everyone to think that. But during the credits, there is even mention of how he wants to work with the police to fight crime.

Not bad ... but I'm not crazy about the idea of the Hornet doing kung-fu style fighting. The Hornet's approach should be strictly boxing, perhaps some jui-jitsu. Otherwise, there's no contrast in the fighting styles.

@mayhem9024 ok so i saw the trailer...have been looking for one for quite some time now. My thoughts...i think Jay Chou looks pretty good as kato, didn't get to see enough action though to compare the fighting. Seth Rogen is hilarious and i do like him but i still don't feel he's good for this role. What i feared would happen in the film happened exactly...they'd take a cool suave character by tradition and bring the standards down to the level of a character playable for rogen.

Brit who became a business man himself..there are many similarities..secondly..Every depiction of the green hornet was serious..since it was a radio show.. even when the episodes clashed with the Adam West "batman series"...the comedy of this movie is written specificall for rogen

The tv series was then spun off to increase the interest of the character...the green hornet mean while was one of the highly rated shows of its time and boosted the ratings for the batman series when they guest starred as themselves GH and Kato. So in the 60s..ask the streets who the green hornet was..

Furthermore.. compared to the green hornet.. the MIB origin was only 3 issues...before being bought off by malibu and marvel...which had lighter tones...not a radio show or entire tv series. And MIB was a success because of the fresh prince, Tommy L Jones, rip torn..etc... good cast of great actors that fit their role

Good cinematography, good sets and costuming, hell even the casting of Kato and Hornet are pretty damn good from what little dialogue I hear BUT I tend to agree with the guy who said you completely missed the point with the Green Hornet. He's not Batman, and that's what this trailer makes him feel like. Hornet's biggest unique underlying factor was the fact that he acted like a criminal and brought down the underworld from the inside.

Most us have already seen the movie. And I think it's somewhat disappointing. The Green Hornet scenes are good but the rest are from a Bing Crosby/Bob Hope 'buddy movie script unfortunately. And the character of Breit Reid was lost and replaced with a poor and over exaggerated Tony Stark. Don't expect a sequel here!

I have seen The Green Hornet in advance. Bad storyline. Seth Rogen was just another Will Ferrell behind the mask. Jay Chou improves his english but his acting still monotonous. It's just 100% Action-Packed Comedy. Too much CGi... the fight scenes remind you of Jet Li's The One.. Just that The Green Hornet film has too much of it.. making the film ain't cool at all.

This was really good - although the green filter throughout the entire movie was distracting - check the Matrix for a good usage of green filters. GREAT fight cherography, but NO ONE had guns? To establish bad-assadry in a modern film, you have to show them dealing with guns. This being said, its probably better than the Seth Rogan one.

I really liked these two guy, seriously!!!! This is the flavor they should've given the recent remake. This guy as Hornet is the man!!!! Kato was cool, as well. But I think Chou could've worked well with this Hornet. That would've worked nicely!!!

Just got back from a pre screening of The Green Hornet . The Actor for the lead roll
was totally obnoxtious ,overbearing and ridiculous . His potrayal was the lowest part
of the movie . The Series was much superior in form and delivery of character . There were racial shenanigans being created around an attempted love scene
between Kato and the blond lead actress which was very disturbing to witness in
these "enlighten times" . The movie was a real letdown .

The new Green Hornet is a different one, accept it or not, nobody cares. Look at it this way, the old Batman's (which I like) were generally strange, the bad ones even funny. So the new Batman's from Nolan are serious and dark. Now take the Green Hornet - dark, serious? - turn it into something more open.
I'm not taking sides, but honestly, stop hating...
That being said, this was still pretty awesome.

Okay... this could go over big in China and Japan, if it hasn't already. A truer homage to the Van Williams/Bruce Lee style of the Reid/Kato team. (And I see the Hornet has some kung-fu moves of his own, thanks to Kato I presume.) Somehow I mistook the trailer for this short for the coming Seth Rogen feature. How I'd hoped Rogen was going to pull a 180 turn, like Michael Keaton's BATMAN of 1989. No such luck. Hope this short does better than the feature.

I'm re-watching this again now (saw it for the first time a couple years back) and I do have to agree, it is really really good. I have my doubts that the new movie will be even watchable, but we'll see.
hell, I've been overdosing on Hornet lately, I've been watching the two serials from 1940 or so and they were actually pretty decent..the first set was a tiny bit better than the second serial, though..but very good.

Here's why this could have been cooler than it is: Would this have been any less or more interesting is it was Batman and Robin instead of Green Hornet and Kato?
There is nothing about this short that is character specific to The Green Hornet. There was no mention of the way he "plays the villain" in order to manipulate the genuine criminals, nor did he use his gas gun.
I admit this was well made, but there is nothing about this short that makes The Green Hornet seem unique.

@ironman004 maybe you missed the beginning of the clip? it clearly says how green hornet is the most wanted criminal by the police. batman's wanted for vigilantism, not criminality. as for the gas gun, it was probably missing due to a low budget.
and i think it shows enough about green hornet to seem unique...since when is the sidekick ever asian and/or better at fighting than the main hero? that can't be replaced with batman and robin.

@xviolentphilx One of the greatest things about the tv show and the old serials were the scenes when the Green Hornet literally demanded a share in the criminals activities. Not unlike what the Joker does to the mob in The Dark Knight. In this, he just tells him that they will be watching.
It's not just that the police and the public think he's a villain. He wants everyone to think that. But during the credits, there is even mention of how he wants to work with the police to fight crime.

My thoughts...i think Jay Chou looks pretty good as kato, didn't get to see enough action though to compare the fighting. Seth Rogen is hilarious and i do like him but i still don't feel he's good for this role. What i feared would happen in the film happened exactly...they'd take a cool suave character by tradition and bring the standards down to the level of a character playable for rogen.

The tv series was then spun off to increase the interest of the character...the green hornet mean while was one of the highly rated shows of its time and boosted the ratings for the batman series when they guest starred as themselves GH and Kato. @pjbutl2 Wow insults time for some schooling robin was created to please parent's and have kids relate to him bats himself was already popular among kids and was fast selling his popularity grew as the stories went mainstream and eventully bats became a star.Here's some more info look up a documentery on comic book superheroes unmasked where they address the fact they became lighter and then fredrick attacked them look it up and watch.

@mayhem9024 are you sure about that? your blabbing off pretty silly statements...bruce alone outlived both the shows.. so anyone who knows about bruce lee will more than likely know about the green hornet...and by the 3rd season..batman was reduced to a show strictly for kid audience...i mean.. batman and the joking were having a surfing competition..by the 3rd season... so you really enjoyed that huh?..that's prob why you think this movie should be action comedy with that kind of taste.

@pjbutl2 I know it's hard to belive you rhero isn't as big as the others but that's ok no ironman fans wanted belive nobody knew who ironman was.Rogen showed during hi q&a he takes this serious he knows the source and even mentioned alot of the gags are shout outs to the comics that only fans will pick up on.

@pjbutl2 Somones immature and bitter look dude x men was known men in black ctually was a very serious comic wher ethey killed and murdered it was twisted and men in black ended up a succes because of the fiilm's haha! you helped my point!.Crow wasn't arip off becaus ehis story was different but i never said gh ripped of bats i said that's the way he woul be percived if it was dark.And blade was actually in a spidey catoon alot which boosted him up so he was a b list hero.

The producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie Macdonald approached Ed solomon because of his involvement with Addams family and its sequel. They approached him with the intent of writing a very faithful script. They simplified the story plot to just extra-terrestial aliens..and made the MIB

@mayhem9024 into guys trying to monitor earth instead of controlling it, so ultimately the men in black movie was inspired by the comic...not a title directly related to it. Furthermore.. compared to the green hornet.. the MIB origin was only 3 issues...before being bought off by malibu and marvel...which had lighter tones...not a radio show or entire tv series. And MIB was a success because of the fresh prince, Tommy L Jones, rip torn..etc... good cast of great actors that fit their role

@mayhem9024 and mayhem9024 insinuates that a series GH movie would be perceived as a dark knight ripoff...well that's your opinion and your entitled to it..but the two stories are very different... Again you didn't answer my question as to whether or not you feel seth rogen should play bruce wayne...because you don't want to admit that seth rogen doesn't fit the role as bruce wayne...which is a character comparable to the green hornet since they're both dark and complex.

@pjbutl2 Aw yet again you prove yor not paying attention young one.Burton's film failed to sell to parent's and kids causing controversy mcdonalds shut down tie ins and studios got such a backlash that they went a more kid friendly route batman forever a succes and pretty mildy recived batman and robin is different it's campy.

@pjbutl2 darknight wasn't the same as batman returns what i'm sying is that darknight handled it in another way it dealt with dark themes bu never fully threw out the darkness parent's understood kids just saw a guy get burned and a lady blow up something shown on tv all the time.But batman returns had kids crying out of the theater and got parent complaint's.
