No. They aren't Peace Officers. No firearms either. They used to be called "Brownies" because of their uniforms. They kept getting assaulted so the City made their uniforms look more like NYPD. Hope that helped.

ehhh....its a job. dont hate the person. Ive never been to NYC but Im sure it is really packed. And no one likes people blocking things.
