Yes other NEWER phone might beat it in most/all areas, but when it came out it was the best pretty much all over the line (which is how tech moves forward). Highest resolution i.e. (but missing flash, poorish camera etc.). Good integration with everything, but restricted in other (on good and bad). It's like LEGO ... BLOCKO might be better in some areas ... but it's still a 'cheap' imitation/ripoff with no innovations, just copies.

Don't forget as well; the engineers of bmw are able to add more 'effective hp' to the the wheels compared to the audi's. What do I mean with that? Well. it's nice to have a car with 600 hp, but if only 500 hp reach the wheels of the car finally, you lose 100 hp somewhere in the process. Now you understand as well, why de s and rs models of audi have alsways a liitble bit more hp than the m models of bmw.
DCT has been out on those super expensive luxury cars for years.. just made it's way to the 100k market.. just as direct injection made it's way to the 30k market in the Kia Optima

M3 vs RS5 : M3 still faster (not a lot though), both claim 4.6s 0-100km/h (C&D got 4.0 RS5, 3.9 M3) TTrs vs Z4 sDrivei35 : TTrs is faster (4.6 vs 4.8), should really be matched with Z4M (which does not exist yet) RS6(C5) < M5 E60 < RS6(C6) < M5 F10 : So yes RS6 vs M5 the newest always been faster (no surprise there)

@goguhu The same physics were used to assume that the CTS-V was faster than the Panamera, but AWD won out in the end. Whenever calculating 0-60, you should always take into to account RWD wheelspin.
@CTSVKINGWAGON That's true ... for 0-60 you have weight, hp/lb, RWD vs 4WD, size and type of tires, torque band of engine, gearing, driver, surface, temperature, altitude, gasoline, variation in engine production (can vary with +/- 5% in power). Being better at '1' of '10' does not ensure a 'win', at the end it's the results that matter, but it's very hard to actually do a true side-by-side, so instead of looking at single result, you really need to weight a series of result to draw a conclution

It's all about how can you differentiate your car from the other ones (M3/M5 been the forerunners here, so MB and Audi are trying different ways). Audi add 4WD, MB add larger engine. Both end up with better stats for some areas, but neither end up beating the M3/M5 for what there were for.
@goguhu It's a bit like Android taking on iPhone ... MAC defined the 'smart phone', and other now follow. They might be better at some areas, but they are missing the full package, which is why so many refuse to leave the iPhone (also knowing the next gen will beat the current Android). Now it might not be the case forever ... but I will still put my money on M3 F30 and M5 F10 being the leaders in the segments (but not for the full lifespan of the models ... perhaps 3-4 years at most).
@goguhu Same goes for the M3 and M5, they are not the best at anything besides rounding a track faster then its competitors. And this time their using more HP then even the new E63 but still sprint to 60 slower. Im not here to argue, but it all depends what matters most to YOU. I could care less about cornering and track times cause i live in NYC so that does nothing for me. High torque, better interior and exterior design (imo), better exhaust note are all the reasons ill take a C63 over an M3.
@Amgbenz0 Yes, at the end it's all about the package (and what you as a buyer care the most about). M3/M5 are best at several points, or break even, but either way the main point was that for the segment created by BMW (M's) the idea was the full package (granted it's changed between the E30 and F10). Also inside every 7-year life span of a model, there will be other faster/better. But when the M3/M5 was released, they were the best ... now at the end of their life span, they no longer are.
@nukeonator Its not rocket science why BMW's are fast on a track, they have almost, if not perfect weight distribution. I own a BMW but i cant stand seeing fanboy's talk about what they like the most being the best, cause thats only your opinion. If MB was interested in beating BMW around a track, they would have never thrown in a 6.2L V8 into their cars with massive torque. What some people dont understand is that the cars were made to be different, and arent trying to achieve the same goal.

@nukeonator Yea but i dont really pay attention to who wins at the end of a straight line, that just depends on what the car company wants to limit the car at. With the AMG Performance Package they limit the 63's to 186 mph. Its all about 0-60 and 1/4 mi. when it comes to straight line speed.

BMW M5 5.0L 500hp V10 ... audi answer with 580hp V10 5.2L bi-turbo ... it looks like it's AUDI that had to bolt on turbos to compete with BMW ... you got it swapped around ... BMW say ... game on ... and also add turbos (mainly due to CAFE though ...) So Audi has always been behind BMW when it comes to the 'M' class cars (BMW M, Audi RS, MB AMG). So ... u do realize Audoh had to do biturbo in order to keep up with BMW and their monster v10 NA in the M5, ...
@goguhu audi has been doing biturbo since the early years of 2000, audi is know for turbocharging there cars.bmw needs to go biturbo because there is no more room for power in a naturally aspired motor.so they put the biturbo in the m5 to compete with audi rs6. the v10 m5 had no chance against the rs6.oh yea and if this new m5 will outrun the rs6 the new gen rs6 will be around the corner to take charge once again. but then again rs6 still has the biturbo v10, while the m5 has a biturbo v8. :)

@audi4ever7 actually, the e60 engine's cost of maintenance is high and engine lifetime is low. that is the main reason of v8 and biturbo. audi rs6 has 60 hp more, thats why its faster than e60 m5.
but the rs6 still can't, and will never burn rubber :) sure it will be faster, but nothing beats the experience of piloting a rear-wheel drive BMW. Not sure how I feel about the 7 speed flappy-paddle gearbox though... but I guess snobby millionaires with little driving experience have to buy the car to drive in a straight line, so it was done for the sake of accessibility, and therefore maximum profit

@yuri250333 yuri u are correct when u say the m3 is a beast on the track and it was born for the tarmac and to take corners but the rs5 is overall faster on the track. Go to the website "fastestlaps" and go the compare tab and compare the e92 m3 with the rs5 and look at the lap times. its almost 50/50 some tracks m3 win. Some tracks rs5 win. Both cars are absolutely fantastic and it boils down to personal preference .

@deventergast We think the RS6 is heavy, because Audi say it's heavy (fact). I'm just curious (perhaps this is language issue), why do you say this is fact?, and what are the facts you are talking about? Personal opinion/wishes is not the same as fact (unless it's a fact that you hope it's better in some form). Turbos have nothing to do with this, dual clutch does matter quite a bit, and bhp/torque curve/weight/cw/grip matter quite a bit (not sure why RS6 is not faster at launch though).
@deventergast And let's wait for the next M5, and see which is faster ... new cars then to be faster than old ... always been the case. Same is that M5 G52 will be faster than RS6(C9) in 2021 ... why is hard to compare cars in a 'fair' way (one tend to be newer than the next). Your car is only the 'best' the year it comes out (not for it's 7 year model life). BMW M4 3.3L V6 TTT will most likely beat any car in it's segment when out, and then 1-3 year later, somebody else will be on top.

@deventergast you missed the point. BMW holds the record for the worlds fastest sedan not the toyota or any other car. Audi could go after this if they thought they could do it. There is a car company that is going after it. It is Bugatti. They obviously feel it is a title they want. Must be that both Audi and Mercedes realize they can't do it.
How can you be sure of this? Ive heard the F10 will be an 11 second car? ... The F10 should have as much if not more power than the CTS-V...no doubt a quicker gear box and better power down.... so Id be interested to know how you are sure the Caddy is faster?

And this time their using more HP then even the new E63 but still sprint to 60 slower. Im not here to argue, but it all depends what matters most to YOU. I could care less about cornering and track times cause i live in NYC so that does nothing for me. High torque, better interior and exterior design (imo), better exhaust note are all the reasons ill take a C63 over an M3.

@Amgbenz0 Yes, at the end it's all about the package (and what you as a buyer care the most about). M3/M5 are best at several points, or break even, but either way the main point was that for the segment created by BMW (M's) the idea was the full package (granted it's changed between the E30 and F10). Also inside every 7-year life span of a model, there will be other faster/better. But when the M3/M5 was released, they were the best ... now at the end of their life span, they no longer are.

@nukeonator Its not rocket science why BMW's are fast on a track, they have almost, if not perfect weight distribution. I own a BMW but i cant stand seeing fanboy's talk about what they like the most being the best, cause thats only your opinion. If MB was interested in beating BMW around a track, they would have never thrown in a 6.2L V8 into their cars with massive torque. What some people dont understand is that the cars were made to be different, and arent trying to achieve the same goal.

@Amgbenz0 True man C63 beats M3 in straight line with the extra HP but the M3 comes out to beat it in a straight line later cause the C63 will stop accelerating at 170 But the M3 will take you upto 178MPH which beats the C63 and its also a shame for BMW cause de-limited the E46 M3 would go upto 191 MPH. but the E92 Beats the E46 on a track

@nukeonator Yea but i dont really pay attention to who wins at the end of a straight line, that just depends on what the car company wants to limit the car at. With the AMG Performance Package they limit the 63's to 186 mph. Its all about 0-60 and 1/4 mi. when it comes to straight line speed.

@goguhu audi has been doing biturbo since the early years of 2000, audi is know for turbocharging there cars.bmw needs to go biturbo because there is no more room for power in a naturally aspired motor.so they put the biturbo in the m5 to compete with audi rs6. the v10 m5 had no chance against the rs6.oh yea and if this new m5 will outrun the rs6 the new gen rs6 will be around the corner to take charge once again. but then again rs6 still has the biturbo v10, while the m5 has a biturbo v8. :)

@audi4ever7 actually, the e60 engine's cost of maintenance is high and engine lifetime is low. that is the main reason of v8 and biturbo. audi rs6 has 60 hp more, thats why its faster than e60 m5.

Not sure how I feel about the 7 speed flappy-paddle gearbox though... but I guess snobby millionaires with little driving experience have to buy the car to drive in a straight line, so it was done for the sake of accessibility, and therefore maximum profit

@MrFrankieFiggz dude.....if u know anything about cars you would know...that due to the 4x4 system in the Audi (which is the best out there) makes it heavy at the nose...and due to the fact that Audi alwasy push there engines to the front it under streers heavily,and sorry but around the track.the master has alwasy been the M3 no matter what u say or anyone else...:) audis are beautiful cars and i love the look of the RS4,5,6 all beautifully styled...but at the end of the day the best is the M3

@yuri250333 yuri u are correct when u say the m3 is a beast on the track and it was born for the tarmac and to take corners but the rs5 is overall faster on the track. Go to the website "fastestlaps" and go the compare tab and compare the e92 m3 with the rs5 and look at the lap times. its almost 50/50 some tracks m3 win. Some tracks rs5 win. Both cars are absolutely fantastic and it boils down to personal preference .

I'm just curious (perhaps this is language issue), why do you say this is fact?, and what are the facts you are talking about? Personal opinion/wishes is not the same as fact (unless it's a fact that you hope it's better in some form). Turbos have nothing to do with this, dual clutch does matter quite a bit, and bhp/torque curve/weight/cw/grip matter quite a bit (not sure why RS6 is not faster at launch though).

@deventergast And let's wait for the next M5, and see which is faster ... new cars then to be faster than old ... always been the case. Same is that M5 G52 will be faster than RS6(C9) in 2021 ... why is hard to compare cars in a 'fair' way (one tend to be newer than the next). Your car is only the 'best' the year it comes out (not for it's 7 year model life). BMW M4 3.3L V6 TTT will most likely beat any car in it's segment when out, and then 1-3 year later, somebody else will be on top.

@deventergast you missed the point. BMW holds the record for the worlds fastest sedan not the toyota or any other car. Audi could go after this if they thought they could do it. There is a car company that is going after it. It is Bugatti. They obviously feel it is a title they want. Must be that both Audi and Mercedes realize they can't do it.

How can you be sure of this? Ive heard the F10 will be an 11 second car? ... The F10 should have as much if not more power than the CTS-V...no doubt a quicker gear box and better power down.... so Id be interested to know how you are sure the Caddy is faster?
