  • Thousands of deer and other animals get killed every day but I don't see anyone protesting to get rid of all forms of ground transportation...

  • very sad

  • :( ....

  • Green Energy not very friendly.....

    wind-watch(.)org

  • They will adapt and learn

  • Ouch. It amazes me these birds don't recognize the danger. They can see so clearly. Very sad. Thank you for taking time to help.

  • poor bird.... that is trully sad but what can we do ? someone should put wind turbines in better geographical locations , or wait another 20 years until solar energy is 10 times stronger

  • wind turbines are part of the natural selection , stupid birds die now , nothing special really

  • I'd like to say thanks for helping the bird. But I have to add: Screw you for not posting a follow up and using this as a link to your blog- which by the way, has nothing to do with this video.

  • Could the Wind Turbines of Chile Harm Blue Whales?

    Time AARON NELSEN

Wind turbines are increasingly recognized as a lethal hazard for birds, but some scientists now think they're also harmful to marine life. From half a mile away, the whooshing turbines emit an acceptable noise level of around 50 decibels; but if some of the Ecopower turbines are placed as close as 10 meters from the shoreline, they say, levels for ocean life could approach if not exceed a more harmful 100 decibels.

  • Good man.

  • cool story bro :p

  • Thats just scary

  • Ouch! That hurt me just watching.

  • So much for the idea that wind energy does not impact the environment,

  • dude how did u not get hurt from the bird

  • Assassin, who put *Dislikes :|

  • We need more nuclear reactors on fault lines. Above ground oil/gas pipelines thru national parks and lakes. I wanna see the government promote coal furnaces in every fucking house. Fuck sewage treatment, pump it directly into our rivers and oceans. Slash and burn the entire rain forest!! I hate seeing the world die a slow death, let's get it over quick!!

  • This is typical troll behavior and you can sit and laugh at the fact that this guys life is so miserable, uneventful and worthless that he has to spend his time all day long doing this kind of stuff. = profsvensen

  • quote of the day from profsvensen " i watch PBS" hahaha, clearly, a winner with a brain

  • continued, I am not pleased with a few birds dying, but I am more pleased with a healthy sustainable energy source being installed for the whole planet to use, have you ever look at the statistics of 1 windmill to a coal plant, millions of tonnes of CO2 pumped out, and "your glad they are going broke" shame on you...too bad it wasnt you few that died instead of the birds

  • I work on a windmill farm, proud to, Wind energy is essential for maintaining a healthy planet, look at all you people bitching about the companies, THE COMPANIES that power your house, look at you driving your cars, not recycling enough, not being NEAR energy efficient, how many birds die from car windshields alone? alot more then windmills, Go to school or get a brain... one of the two..... If anthing windmills are on the way to saving a few birds, with a few lost to getting striked by one

  • @hynzify Hey asshole, what happens when there is no wind you dip-shit?

  • @profsvensen yeah what happens when there is no sun, what happens when there is no coal, there is no water, its all polluted,, the nuclear plants leak radiation everywhere, you..... just lack a brain....I've beat you're argument in every way possible, now go back to your night shift at wal mart, because you're blocked:)

  • @hynzify Truth is we need nuclear. Wind and solar will never be able to power modern society, let alone the world. And stop feeding the troll...

  • @antony1103 That's a good patch but what happens when the uranium runs low and you find yourself in the same position of fuel supplies? Whole towns already harness wind, solar and hydro...it's totally feasible especially with solar tech getting cheaper at a drastic rate. Some say the ionosphere will actually be the future, HAARP tech.

  • this is so fucked up. thank god these companies are going broke!!

  • @profsvensen ...... your the one thats fucked up, Wind Energy is Essential, Humans kill 100x more birds then windmills do, most of you people have some serious issues, KEEP BURNING COAL AND NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS, good job, kill the world for all birds, human, and species, You are on the right path...................

  • @hynzify Ahhh.....shove a nuclear rod up your ass. Nearly every wind generating company is going tits up!! I watch PBS, turns out wind farms are over rated and totally inefficient. So you ork on a wind farm? Couldn't get a job at the 7-11? Have a good one.

  • i hope hiw wing is okay it sad

  • This bird isnt stupid. Obiously some of people dont understand that birds cant fly wherever they want. They are not airplanes. They mostly fly according to wind currents. Sure it can fly in circle but they rarley fly full time against winds. Similar is with sail ships and sail planes. They have to navigate according to wind and tidal waves.

  • Its the same old story, Man trying to save the world but instead killing another species in the mean time, when it is humans that are the problem to many of us we need a plague or some think, it sound harsh but its the truth we need to reduce our numbers, as its us humans that are plaguing the earth not the animals there reclining and again its humans with there greed and hunger for power and control.

  • @Jellybubbleso0 Well to bad you are an idiot. Maybe we should start with you first and everyone else who agrees.

  • @Jellybubbleso0 ....honestly... what is wrong with you.... CARS KILL MORE BIRDS THEN WINDMILLS

  • Many thanks to the guys for saving the vulture. Its estimated that there are just 4-6 breading pairs on Crete, the last place in the balkans where these birds can be found! With the new plans of Greece to install more and more of the windmills no one knows when we will see the last of them.

  • :(

  • Good kind men! What ever happened to this bird?

  • If an oil company did this, there would be a lot of noise about it. The wind farm at Ani Del Diablo kills around 80 golden eagles and hawks a year. Even the scientists who first put forth the theory of man caused global warming have said that we could wait til the means of producing clean energy is environmentally safer and more efficient before we spend a lot of money on the bad stuff like this. This is hypocrisy in the name of Al Gore!

  • @Revvin keep buying your oil then, like you have for the last 100+ years and never evolve into something better, some of the greatest achievements come from the biggest failures

  • I wonder how many dead birds are in Fort Mac Oil Community, Alot more you never hear about

  • A veterinarian could get the bird back to health. Hopefully the bird will be smarter after its bad experience.

  • i would have put the thing down, crushed his scull with a rock or something.

  • What an amazing thing to do. I would have done just the same <3 Good for you guys! And Thank You.

  • sad

  • Too bad they don't make clear whether they were successful in rescuing this vulture.

I'm betting that he might have survived, but would be permanently unable to fly.

    Looks like a Griffon vulture.

Oh, and wind farms are a gigantic scam, perpetuated by idiots who believe cars are going to kills us all, while their creations wipe out millions of raptors, migratory birds, and bats.

    What a pant load!

  • Wind Turbine>Bird

  • The number of people here that have no compassion truly makes me ill. The bird was climbing a thermal-- why was this animal 'stupid' 'dumb' or 'a moron' for not recognizing a thing beyond its comprehension? Should wild animals suddenly say "Oh, gee, those crazy humans must be building one of their crazy contraptions, better stay away from it!"? Isn't it our responsibility, as the 'smart' ones, to understand the impact of what we build and try to mitigate it wherever possible?

    Instead, we mock.

  • @Avadavat LOL

  • stupid bird's fault

  • Windfarms are about profit, not about saving the planet. They are the most inefficient and pointless of all renewables and will prove to be the biggest mistake that all these panicking countries will make. In 25 years, we will be lost in a forest of rusting, failed turbines. At least the birds will get the sky back.

  • Oh nooo! That poor stupid bird didn't see the giant white blades swinging in the air and got hit because he is to stupid to fly away from them. Now we should start a petition to waste the company's time and money to prevent another stupid bird from getting hurt again.

  • @STMARYISLOOSE So if i came over and SMASHED you over the back of the head. . . Oooo that poor stupid fuck. . . He did not see me coming. . .And he was too STUPID to run away.

  • @moski3 I'm sure if I saw some stupid faggot running towards me trying to hit me in the head I would either try to defend myself or move out of the way. That is what seperates us from the animals, the fact that we can think and act to move rather than staying and getting injured. You're defending a stupid bird that was going to die in a few weeks anyway. Also, if a bird flies around a giant white blade and decides to stay near it rather than flying away and gets hurt why should feel bad? Pussy.

  • @STMARYISLOOSE ya you are right, birds ARE smart enough to know that a windmill could hurt them. Just the fact that you even said that would probably make you one of the most retarded people ive ever come in contact with. you obviously are too stupid to recognize that birds don't know what could hurt them. You are unbelievably stupid. I feel sorry for you

  • @CWskate7 Well, when you run towards a group of birds, do they tend to stay where they are or do they fly away high enough to where you cannot attack them? They fly away because they are the prey and we, the humans are the predators. It's basic animal instincts to evade your predator when you are the prey. So when a bird see's a big white blade moving and it does not see it as a sign danger or harm, that is the birds fault. Also, it's one fucking bird, get over it you bleeding heart pussy.

  • @STMARYISLOOSE HAHAHAHAHAHAHA dude you are the coolest guy ever, i bet you have so many friends

  • @CWskate7 I bet you do too, you no talent ass clown. How about you go learn how to play the guitar decent enough to where it doesnt sound like shit. You should give up on playing the guitar for life because a peice of shit like you will never succeed in it. AC/DC is the worst band in the world and you are the worst guitar player I have ever heard in my entire life. Do your parents and the world a favor and go jump off a cliff. Faggot.

  • @STMARYISLOOSE hahhahahahaha you just made my day dude

  • @CWskate7 You're welcome.

  • @STMARYISLOOSE he was climbing a thermal dumb fuck, and it wasnt just this 1 bird that got hurt, this happens often. im not saying wind turbines are a bad thing, it's just that they need 2think about the environment a bit more

  • @TheEpicPiccolo Whats more important, a few birds every once and a while or electricity that humans use? I could understand is it was an endangered bird or a cool looking bird but its a stupid vulture that are abundant in a lot of countries.

  • @TheEpicPiccolo

They already thought about the enviroment when they designed these in the first place! Give it a break, not EVERY problem in the world can be solved..

  • @RamiroR well he doesnt need to be rude about it.

  • @TheEpicPiccolo take your car windshield out, you'll save more birds

  • Somewhere in the sky, a group of vultures is missing its moron.

  • I am more concerned about the wind mill then the poor bird that got hurt. When one of these birds hits a plane it can cause a crash and depending on the crash hundreds of people, not birds can be killed. I am not all that in love with a bird that eats rotten dead animals.. Yes I pitty the poor creature, but I do not think I want my human genes spliced with it as some of you crazys seem to be all for. Do you know they have cows that give human breast milk after GMO pervertion!

  • Can you imagine the old duch wind mill builders marvel at the modern wind mill(turbine) They would be awe struck and pat the modern makers of there age old technology on the back and say great job, and I wish we had those kind of materials to work with , and my god look at how much power you are grabing out of the wind! Those past craftmen have knowlege of value we all have become blinded to. The atomic lobby is using any means to make there used car lemon appear bright , shinny, and new

  • @ObsenityofAtomicTech I should have said dutch. But never the less, since I am not a pro journolist, pimping to the powers that be for pay for propaganda pleaseing to the powers that be, my skills are not in the word smithing but in the thoughts behind my words. Not interested in the powers that be focus. No I am always interested in what make sense for people not corporation, not skeems for power over other people, not what helps the war mongers make more wars.

  • lol Windpower. Such an expensive and dirty fuel source(look at how they are made and you will understand).

  • as soon as it got hit my black roommate went BAM SON! lol owned bitch. fly somewhere else

  • Where is this? Did the vulpture get better?

  • sorry im a prick and probably should go to hell, but i laughed

  • @lordrazr i did too. i was like "you have the WHOOOOOLE sky. fly somehwere where a windmill blade that is going 70mph at the tip isnt whirling everywhere

  • What some call Climate change, I call mankind devouring the surface of this planet. These wind turbines are just part of the madness. A truly green wind industry would have moved on to new advanced wind turbine designs instead of settling for the propeller style and then lying about the impacts. To fortify the wind industry cover-up they have an army of mercenary experts to produce bogus studies and have lobbied in Washington to give them laws that absolve them from killing endangered species.

  • Bravo for the paragliders who did their best to rescue and help a fellow glider. :)

  • That's quite the deal! I've heard of such a thing but to actually see it. Why do birds tempt fate? Is there something about the mill that attracts birds? Whats going on here? Seems super unlikely, but I hear about this a bunch!

  • are vulture okay..

  • Poor bird, I guess there primative brain is not programed to comprehend the danger to it of a windmill. But I still like windmills and do not think they are a bad idea. Windmills make better sense then atomic bombs leading to atomic steam engines leading to atomic fuel rods that have been used up in there abilities to generate heat and degrade into pure poison of a unearthly kind, since atomic piles are star matter that has been captured by earth over 4 billion years ago.

  • @ObsenityofAtomicTech Radioactive waste can be reprocessed and used to generate more elctricity.

  • @wolfy9005 Yeah and I say so what, that fact changes nothing at all. The so called reprocessing I would love to learn more about , but the fact it is being done changes nothing about the melt thoughs are fuckashama, or the fact all the rest of the plants are vulerable to the same failures. Did you know the melt downs happened because the pressure vessels lost pressure causing the water to flash into steam , and the lack of pumps had nothing to do with the melt though. The shaking caused it all.

  • @ObsenityofAtomicTech Shaking does not cause meltdowns. A melt down occurs when there is no cooling fluid. No pumps = no moving water = no removal of heat. Or didn't you google hard enough? If shaking causes meltdowns, uranium centrifuges(used to enrich uranium) would cause a meltdown every time.

  • @wolfy9005 You and I seem to be on same side of this issue, but you are not understanding how a boiler works. The transformation of liquid to gas happens at different temperatures depending on the pressure the liguid is at. When the reactor vessel is breeched, the pressure is removed and the super hot liquid flashes into steam, blowing a bigger breech in the vessel. It is legend in steam power, and even under coal buring , it is very dangerous. The steam blows out explosively

  • HUMANS are the worst thing in the world!

even if it is "green" enrgie like windmills it is as red as the blood it is spreading!

  • Despite the success of the condor breeding programs there are few if any free flying condors. This is because their habitats have been invaded by thousands of lethal wind turbines with their blade tips spinning at over 200 mph. To keep the condors from wandering into these death traps, all three condor populations are fed at established feeding stations where carcasses are dumped. Instead of wandering over 1000 of square miles looking for food, the condors now stay near their feeding stations.

  • Thank you for helping this bird !!!!!!!!!!!

  • These gentlemen were very kind to help this beautiful creature. Bless you.

  • @zuneslave You know they ate the bird right?

  • Comment removed

  • In the big picture these eyesore killers of rare and endangered birds, will change nothing in the way society uses energy. They are not even close to being a green answer. The world's carbon production will not change because of these turbines, oil drilling will not change, and the oil spills will continue. What they do however is provide a false hope to the ignorant, fill corporate bank accounts with rigged profits and contribute to more worldwide habitat destruction from a corporate run world.

  • PRESS RELEASE: Save the Eagles International (STEI) wishes to warn the international community about the threat that windfarms and their power lines represent for biodiversity. Unlike cars, buildings, and domestic cats, wind turbine blades and high tension lines often kill protected or endangered birds like eagles, cranes, storks, etc. Cumulatively and over the long term, 3.5 million wind turbines to be installed worldwide will cause the extinction of many bird species, some of them emblematic.

  • How would you like to be dodging these things while you were shopping or looking for food. Putting these killers in the critical habitats of rare and endangered species is similar to putting a school crosswalk on a NASCAR racetrack. Newer propeller wind turbines have blade tips speeds over about 220 mph. The propeller wind turbine in this video is spinning at about 1/2 speed. This video clearly illustrates why all birds and bats do not have a chance near the spinning blades of a prop turbine.

  • You know, birds of every type were flying around before windmills and other high rise objects were put up by man. You would think that with millions of years of evolution and a whole lot of practice, these birds would know to dodge the windmill blades. It's not like humans put the windmills up over night in the dark and then spang the surprise on the bird world the next morning. Give me a break please you idiots.

  • First of all, redesign these archaic wind turbines with new designs. Develop more Solar and then go back to the drawing board with nuclear power and make these plants and their backup systems so they can withstand a 15 magnitude earthquake. I also then eliminate the corporate dominance in the management and building of these plants. Corporations are corrupt. With corporations profit is king and for the quick buck they will always lead society down the wrong path. Just as they did with Wind.

  • Hello, I was wondering if I could use this footage for a history day project I'm doing about the California Project. I tired to email you but the email bounced back. Thanks!

  • I see one of the idiots has returned to make another profound statement.

  • lol... the bird was like " did any 1 get the number of that truck"

  • Lethal footage of protected birds being smashed by wind turbine blades could actually be taken thousands of times every day across the world. All anyone would have to do is set 24 hour surveillance cameras on the turbines. The wind industry is very aware of this and with their army of corrupt biologists and politicians, they have conspired in a decades long cover up concerning wind turbine mortality. The truth is, wind turbines kill every species of bird that is forced to share the same habitat.

  • 1. We are such a unique species! - think of the millions of GOOD humans who every day pick up the pieces, mop up the blood, repair the shattered lives in the wake of just a small bunch of ASSHOLE humans (manufactured war, greed, disease, poverty etc)

    2. Higher energy prices, increased taxation, devalued homes and land, crippled local economies, poor health and destruction of natural landscape are the ways in which *our* wings are broken by wind farms.

my channel has link to blog on wind farms

  • Much Love to these guys who took the time to help, when the could have simply left and done nothing! Way to go Guys!

  • @Antithropocentric

No, wind turbines are useless AND AGW is a scam. There is no evidence whatsoever that man has caused any global warming. The ONLY "evidence" is the IPCC's set of shonky models.

  • that bird looked embarrassed

  • Bird gets hit at 1:55 just so you don't have to sit through the long ass beginning

  • Proposed wind farm imperils two falcon nest sites in New Hampshire IBERDROLA/Audubon involved in bogus studies. Fraudulent Environmental Impact studies are paving the way for the $120 million Groton Wind Project to move forward despite very real danger to threatened species, including the Peregrine Falcon. Mortality would come from falcons colliding with the turbine blades as well as the environmental degradation caused by the construction. Deadline to approve/deny the project is April 26, 2011

  • Just let a 5 ton blade blade traveling at 150-200 mph smack you in the head. Others will then be able to hear the same fake sound.

  • The latest wind turbines are so huge that 134 of them have the same rotor sweep area as 4000 of the early turbines installed at the infamous Altamont Pass. Rotor sweep means the deadly KILL ZONE for birds and bats. The original turbines installed at Altamont pass had maximum tip speeds of 110-125 mph at 80 rotations per minute. At 500 ft the so called "safer" turbines have tip speeds of 234 mph at 20 rotations per minute. The turbine in the Video is rotating at only 12 rotations per minute.

  • Folks that truly want to be enlightened on the insidious nature of the wind industry should read about what has been done to the California Condor. It is discussed in the recent editorial concerning the Tule Wind Project published in the East County Magazine. No bird species, no matter how precious, is safe from this greed driven industry.

  • For the ignorant ...Cats, windows, cars etc. kill almost no rare and endangered species such as Eagles, Condors, Whooping Cranes, Red Kites, Tasmanian Wedge Tailed Eagles, and Egyptian Vultures,. I could go on and on with this death list. The fact is, once these turbines are put into their foraging and nesting habitats they become the primary killers of these species. No bird or bat is safe from these turbines. The public rarely hears about it because of wind/oil industry security and gag orders.

  • Shouldn't have been flying so close to it.

  • This is why I strongly supported GW Bush converting the nation to clean hydrogen fuel - using geothermal wells to produce the electricity. Geothermal is reliable 24 hours a day and new systems don't even use water.

No wonder Democrats went ballistic to shut it down - they can't carbon-tax the hydrogen fuel.

  • I know from personal experience that the wind/Oil industry is represented by notorious lairs that routinely rig data and studies. I am an expert on birds of prey and have seen many rigged wind industry Environmental impact reports and studies. In fact I have never seen an honest one. Wind farms produce energy but they also create killing fields for birds and bats.

When is the media going to put an honest spotlight on this fraudulent industry?

  • Besides slaughtering birds and bats, wind farms have a profound effect on real estate values. Donald Trump, who know a bit about real estate, also knows this. That is why he is fighting plans for an offshore wind farm that will be overlooking his Scots golf development. Yet there are many fraudulent wind industry studies that have been produced showing there is no loss of value to real estate in the communities where these turbines have been installed.

  • PFCSMITH007....I am not your Buddy and would never give a rude lunkhead a break.

  • The replacement of Wind turbines at Altamont Pass will be certainly be a great move for wind farm interests because the turbines will catch more wind and have more energy output. But soaring birds will continue to be slaughtered. Keep in mind these so called new and improved huge turbines, are killing 1000-2000 Griffon Vultures and tens of thousands of other birds each year in Spain.

  • The blade speed of a smaller turbines being replaced at Altamont Pass are actually slower (125mph) spinning at 80 RPMs than the blade speeds of the replacement behemoths moving at more than 200mph at 20 rpms The new models are also reaching much further into the sky. They will be catching more winds in the industry coveted 100 meters zone and will be spinning at a more constant rate.

  • So them things good eaten or what?

  • I not so sure the new turbines going into Altamont Pass will be better for the birds, but it will definitely be better for investors. The turbines are monstrous and I believe the total blade sweep, once installed will equal or surpass what they are taking out. If I am not mistaken, One of the beasts covers the same amount of blade/rotor sweep as about 20 on the turbines they are replacing. These newer turbines have blades that rotate at a higher speed even though the RPMs are less.

  • Not to pick on the vulture but it's survival of the fittest - it wasn't blindsided or sucked into the turbine, it flew round and round and misjudged where the prop blade was - shit happens. But, if you care about lives of birds, let's go after the real dangers - tall buildings, pesticides, oil spills, domestic cats, etc, etc, ad nauseum.

I am amazed that neither the blow nor the fall was immediately fatal

  • Comment removed

  • aleho72............ A 24 hour video camera set on most propeller style turbines would show the exact same thing......birds being smashed out of the sky. Do some research on Altamont Pass and learn about the thousands of birds killed there each year. For accurate images showing the ongoing slaughter from wind turbines, visit the Save the Eagles website. The only investigations needed are those concerning your lack of cognitive thinking and another about the turbine/bird mortality coverup.

  • @WiegandsWindow Altamont and the other old turbine installations in California are primarily smaller latticework towers that are more attractive to birds, spin faster, and thereby are more dangerous. They should have been replaced with solid-tower, larger turbines years ago - it's seems it being done now but with the financial crisis and other issues, who knows how long it'll take.

  • This video was intended for the sole purpose of propaganda against wind turbines. Further investigation from various videographers interviewed with regard to this footage will clearly show that THIS WAS A STAGED OCCURENCE, and that the creators of this video need to be brought to justice! If you notice, the video was clearly edited by professional video editors. At the moment of impact (1:55) there is a sound effect added as well as at (2:02) when the vulture hits the ground!

  • @aleho72 Ohh pleease there is nothing staged about this video. Believe what you want to believe but all it is is a damn video of a bird flying into a huge blade end of story. No one in this world would take the time to have a video professionally edited to make it seem like a bird is getting hit by a turbine blade. Your probably one of those conspiracy theorists that thinks 9/11 was staged to right?

  • @aleho72 yeah, the sound really does seem fake, and wouldn't the camera guy say something, or make some kind of noise after seeing that? doesn't mean its fake, just odd they would edit it like that

  • Comment removed

  • It is hard to believe that there are such Dumb Folks in this world. What kind of idiot would think video was rigged or that in some way this bird deserved to be smashed out of the sky. For the viewers with brains..........What is seen here happens to thousands of birds, every single day across the world.

  • You friggen hippies amaze me. First you complain about finding a cleaner way to produce energy then once that is achieved...oh no, youre killing vultures!!! Seriously, the world is not a perfect place and never will be. Deal with it. Besides its natural selection. If the bird wasnt retarded it wouldnt fly near the blades!

  • @johnwayne584 You aren't understand, The bird flies near the vanes because the vanes create an airflow that attracts involuntarily them… they are the birds… however, if for you it is worth the pain to sacrifice not a specie, but several species by egoistic ambision of a little light, then, only massacres all bird that you find, you are not limited, exists the natural selection, if, but this is not natural selection, is a massacre of birds and bats

  • @microelsa what kind of protection do you suggest?

  • Hey, how can you prefer burn COAL instead of wind turbines to produce electricity?

Think that much more animals are killed every day in the roads!

  • @webgiorgio

they could make windmills regarding the birds safety!... (they could apply some protection). And just because (unfortunately) there are so many animals that die in the roads does´t mean that we shouln´t care for the rest of the animals or the places. It breakes my heart to see this...

  • The Altamont wind farm sits on prime hunting grounds for the eagle. Yet at this several square mile area 50-75 Golden eagles are killed each year. If the turbines were not there, less than one Golden Eagle a year would die each year at this location by all other types of mortality combined. Even if one were to include another 200 square miles around the wind farm, far fewer eagles die each year then at the wind farm. The wind turbines are NUMBER ONE KILLER of eagles in this habitat.

  • Comment removed

  • A perfect case in point about how deadly the propeller style wind turbine is to rare and endangered species can be illustrated with the association of the Golden Eagle and the 10 square mile area of Altamont Pass Wind Farm. Here it is easily the number one killer of this species in this habitat.

  • poor beast

  • why on earth do they put these in critival habitat, and second question, why on earth are the using a catch pole on a bird? Any handler of bird of prey knows the beak isnt the main weapon, the feet do all the damage. Putting a pole like that on that vulture probably only stressed the poor animal more than being caught with a towel or a blanket.

  • Good work!

  • Wind turbines are very lethal and are known to kill every species of bird that is forced to share their habitat them. When the propeller style wind turbine is introduced into their habitats, it becomes the number one cause of death for rare and endangered bird species. Despite wind industry propaganda, house cats, cars, buildings, any most other human related activities are not a factor in the survival of rare species killed by prop wind turbines. This is due to the isolation of their habitats.

  • @WiegandsWindow Are you out of your mind? if your such a tree hugger you should be supporting these wind turbines instead of making false accusations about birds that fly around them. wheres your proof that they are the number one killer of endangered species? hate on poachers instead of green energy

  • For all birds and bats this is a looming disaster. Installing these turbines is the equivalent of putting a new apex predator into their habitats. With their 220 mph blade tip speeds, the prop turbine kills anything that flies. The dead include the smartest, the strongest, and the healthiest of every bird or bat species that uses the same habitat. The wind industry no government agency will address the cumulative impacts caused from installing many thousands propeller style wind turbines.

  • @davidstanbridge123 gilipollas

  • Ire0706.......If you contact me directly I can give you more information. There are two videos posted by jianis19 about the accident. Make sure you see them both. Also search the internet. Just look up the words Wiegand and wind, you will find enough to fill a book.

  • But we have to build these so we feel good about ourselves. Also, if we don't waste money on the windmills for a net loss, who will? It's our duty.

  • jianis19 u made this video? Its great. I like that u helped the bird not to die. And did the bird flew again?

  • If every single nuclear, coal, and environmentally unhealthy sources of energy were replaced with these, would you still be crying over some birds? If you had a choice between saving a human being, or a bird, and you choose a bird, you should be ashamed of yourself.

  • @Aetos1337 Read all the comments........ this is about corruption, fraud and much better turbine designs not being put into use.

  • Until People start rejecting the propeller style wind turbine, the industry will not move away from these killers. Millions of birds are slaughtered each year by these turbines. Most are protected species and some endangered. I encourage everyone to research this. The industry is corrupt to the core and these turbines have a tremendously negative environmental footprint that has been covered up for over 25 years.

  • Would you rather a coal or nuclear power plant in your back yard???

take a look at how many birds are killed by cars and sky scrapers every year... turbines dont even compare, get a fucking life.

  • @slutformoney............. I have a life. I stomp on fools like you.

  • The corrupt U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is part of this green fraud. They deliberately looked the other way while wind farms were built in the habitat of the condor and whooping crane. They chose not to prosecute tens of thousands of wind industry violations of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. They even helped write and pass the “No Surprises” clause into federal law, which gives this industry a free pass for killing endangered species. There is no difference between them and the corrupt MMS

  • Remember this.........when the propeller style wind turbine is introduced into their habitats, it becomes the number one cause of death for rare and endangered bird species. Despite what the industry states, cats, cars, windows, buildings, etc. are not the problem. These mortality factors did not kill off the Red Kite populations that have disappeared from Germany and Italy. The prop wind turbines have killed them off.

  • At the current rate of wind farm development, dozens of bird species will soon face extinction from this diabolical source of energy. The truth is no bird or bat is safe around a propeller-style wind turbine. BP and many other scumbags are heavily invested in this source of energy.

  • Recently in the UK a primary school was forced to turn off their wind turbine after bird deaths. The small propeller style turbine had tip speeds of 135 mph and killed 14 birds in just 6 months. The tens of thousands of large wind turbines installed in Europe and the US have tip speeds of 220 mph. Millions of birds are killed annually but unlike the birds in the school yard, most of these birds drop to the ground with NO witnesses. The CORRUPT wind industry 25 year mortality cover up continues
