such a great album, this shouldve been a zeppelin album, this tour and album almost tore a rift between page plant, and jones he wanted to do this with them so bad
@the mahagoni yes, they mean clarksdale mississippi. robert plant visits here when he is close by, and tutwiler, mississippi. tutwiler is where w.c.handy first saw someone playing & singing the blues. also robert donated a piece to the delta blues museum on zepp's behalf to thank all the bluesmen who came before and were an influence to the band.
I think Page plays a great solo. If I were to play this video to my dad he'd probably say,"Page is rusty. He doesn't play like he did in the 70's." Annoys the crap out of me. He likes Zeppelin but I don't think he has the Led ears like I do. Page, in a lot of ways, is better these days in my opinion.
I was always impressed with Michael Lee. Sure, no one can beat John Bonham. But Michael Lee would blow me away and thought he was a perfect fit for this band. To be honest, I'm not impressed with Jason Bonham. He's a good drummer and he has Bonham blood but he doesn't blow me away like John Bonham or Michael Lee did.
Thank you for posting it Page really seemed to tip his hat more too his heros with the different styles he addopted! Rather than trying too throw all his cliches in brilliant stuff!
Lol, Seriously though, I've seen Jimmy Page use a strat before (mostly for those tremolo parts in "In the Evening") but a PRS?! wtf lol. Awesome though, absolutely awesome.
I guess nothing can knock a good, vibrant Gibson les paul but a PRS deffinitely beats a strat on most accounts (since the bridge is much better, more solid construction, and the push/pull knobs really do make those PRS humbuckers sound like a strat single coils).
Amen to that bro! I bought the cassette the day it came out. I've got the CD too. Great music, and has the Delta feel for real. I know because I'm from the country just outside of Clarksdale.
No covers on the album. The album has a lot of diversity. Every song sounds different and you can hear so many different influences. Some songs have more than one type of musical influence in 'em. I think it's a classic album and should have sold better. If you like Led Zeppelin than it's definitely a must own album! Buy it right now if you don't own it. Trust me. Jones and Bonham aren't there so it doesn't sound exactly like Led Zeppelin but it's still great.
It's like, Jimmy Page's guitar can sing. Really well. So well Robert doesn't have to sing for over ten minutes in a song and no one would care.
Why the fuck can't artists be this great anymore. I hate being 16. This generation sucks.

page was never rusty - he always chooses what and how to play - it just might sound rusty but there are reasons for that.
