  • excellent buddy

  • Hi,

Great videos, you just saved me about an hour in my accounts prep withe the off statement on the text fields.

In the current us/ Uk GAAP and IFRS accounting standards it is acceptable to have a negative number in brackets we no longer have a positive number for a loss.

    Thanks for the tips

    J

  • Thanks for the wonderful video and the answer to my query posted in the previous video again. :)

I wanted to ask that -

How to we go to the point mode from the edit mode while editing the cell or entering formula(e) in it? the shortcut is what I am looking for :)

    Thanks in advance

  • F2 key.

  • what excel formula should I use which will count phrases in first column and will display two word phrases in 2nd column (if a row in 1st column contains two word phrases) and will display the word "ERROR" if a row in 1st column contains 1, 3 or more phrases?

  • I do not know. Try the Mr Excel Message Board:

  • Thank you.

  • You are welcome!!

  • Hello,

On the example for the Income Statement's IF formula for "Net Income" and "Net Loss" how do we include & show the "break-even" point when there is neither a profit nor a loss?

  • If number is A1:

    =IF(A1<0,"Net Loss",IF(A1=0,"Break Even","Net Income"))

  • Thanks!

    :D

  • i forgot something from previous classes and i don't remember which one :)

it's about logical tests, you used AND/or in this vid, i wanted to use the if function instead of those so i came up with:

=IF(B30>=B32&(B31>=B33), "extend credit", "no credit") instead of AND

how about the "OR" (nothing i tried worked:)))))

(i believe you show somewhere how to do if you have 2 logical tests with the if function )

  • Use AND function.

    Try these videos:

  • How do you get negative numbers in red and brackets without (I assume) doing any conditional formatting? I tried formatting the cells into accounting or currency, but don't work. Hope for a quick reply as always. Thank you in advance!

  • Dear kami645464 ,

    Apply Currency will work:

Ctrl + 1, select Number tab, Select Currency, select red or black parenthesis.

    That should do it.

  • hey

at the end when you made the cell green if it was positiv: what do I have to do if I want it blue if it is negative and green if it is positive? how do I enter this 2 things?

  • what short cut do you use at 17:02 to adjust your zoom to the selection ?

  • Dear alonemusic,

In Excel 2007, the keyboard shortcut to zoom to Selection is:

    Alt + W + G.

    I use that one eveyday!
