  • How the hell am I suposed to go sleep after my head has blown up ?

  • Holy shit my pants

  • Lol the sun is way smaller then by Canister majoris so when u compare them both the sun should be nothing to it so I would put nothing for the sun compared to canis majoris

  • Betelgeuse is losing mass, you know what that means, shes goen up, science doesn't know enough about space to tell so all we can say is anytime it will go super nova. How bright is that you may ask? A few months ago, with your naked eye you could see a super nova in a galexy that NASA telescopes have a hard time seeing.

  • holy shit!

  • obs: Betelgeuse is bigger than V283 Carinae '-'

    =D

  • That last star is quite big, however it's not as big as my friend's gut. He's been eating donuts for the past few decades, and was becoming so big that NASA, secretly of course, sent him into space. He has long since left our solar system, and from what I understand he's still eating donuts, washing them down with tea (Bertrand Russell flavor). If you're wondering how he could survive in space unaided, and how he left our solar system,it's the power of donuts of course (just ask Homer Simpson).

  • bleeeeuuuurgh, too much perspective.

  • omg... I feel so small now D:

  • wt

  • thats one big ass mother fucker

  • Why so Sirius?

  • The amount of sheer energy and power that thing puts out when it explodes must be astronomically unfathomable.

  • I heard chuck Norris punched VY Canis majoris and it swelled up to that size

  • When Chuck Norris stared down Canis Majoris through his telescope, the star super nova'd, and turned into a black hole.

  • VY CANIS Is so fuckin big you cant even imagine and it go way futher than saturn my friend

  • @Level80irl yes, It is fucking big, but no it wouldn't. You measure how far out it would be by the radius, not the diameter.

  • @greenteagod yea I guess that make since you're talkin about reaching out but yea if it were side to side ( left side starting at sun how far you think

  • @greenteagod betelguese would make it out to jupiter, vy canis majores would make it way farther then saturn

  • @Level80irl Many people do not understand the real size of the solar system. 90% of people undersize it.

  • To put it in perspective, if the sun was the size of a flame on a lighter, the end of the solar system extends about 5 miles out.

  • I feel like a germ...

  • Imagine what'd happen if it Hyper Nova'd or be we're to sink into itself and become a black hole. . . .-shutters-

  • @Samota0 A supermassive black hole actaully.

  • @Darkcastleknights more than bilions of years-light!

  • holy shit

  • What about Mercury

  • @dragon45145 too small.........

  • I feel like a little bug...with a bug penis.

  • o can't locate VY CANIS MAJORIS whit google sky please help me

  • my dick suddenly feels so small

  • @BigGayFish1 there are probably stars that are as big as the milky way

  • i think that star has been replaced but i can remember the name of the new giant they found

  • Thats pretty huge mate

  • @Darkcastleknights flying at 900mph it would take 1100 years

  • @MUJAHID56787 you mean 900km/h calculated into mph it would be about 560mph

  • So, where does the VY Canis Majoris reach when it would be placed in the center of our solar system?

  • @blacknessboy666 A bit past saturn.

Radius of VY is roughly 1.5 billion km. Saturn orbits at about 1.4

  • @greenteagod Thank you. I also estimated that it would past Saturn a little bit.

  • @blacknessboy666 up to saturn

  • @adilsa40 Thank you.

  • @Darkcastleknights Traveling at 900 Km/h in a passenger jet, it would take about 1200 years to circle it once.

  • @Darkcastleknights If we were to walk it, given the average speed a human walks (appx 5km/h) and were capable of walking the entire distance without any rest, it would still take about 220,000 years to travel the entire circumference. So half that from one side to the other.

  • @greenteagod not true....... much more....

  • @ToadRoach When I said it grows up "too fast", I mean that the last stars are bigger than in reality. ;) Oh, and Sirius is also too big, Rigel is bigger than Aldebaran in reality, etc.

  • @greenboy912 Aldebaran is an orange star in fact.

The pink one is a red supergiant in reality. Violet stars don't exist, the red ones are the coldest ones.

Anyway, lots of errors when it presents the biggest stars. It grows up too fast !!!

(Sorry, I'm not very good in English. )

  • @DarkyFace Quite the contrary, as heat is added to black body objects their colour traverses the entire spectrum. So it is quite possible to have a brand new ultra hot Violet star or even a green star slightly younger than our own, unfortunately our eyes will only present the stars as various shades of the three primary colours, so violet will appear to us as blue and green as yellow.

I didn't have any errors in the presentation, but yes It probably would be better if slowed a little.

  • scaaaaaaaaary!

  • Whats the name of the song?

  • and after a little research)))

John Barry - The black hole/Howard the Duck - The black hole suite

I want this track for my birthday))

  • WOW, I can't believe it!

  • Thank you for creating this. It's fabulous and I love watching it over and over. The music is well placed too. The universe is an amazing and wondrous thing!

  • this video has terrified the life out of me!

  • I feel tiny....

  • holly shit!!

    we are nothing...

  • Wow!

  • now this makes me think about how small and very insignificant humans really are...huh...i feel really puny now...but that star is the definition of epic!

  • People are scared if our sun goes boom... imagine if that motherf*cker go boom...

  • man i have a lot of question.....how does the sun form....where do bemuda triangle come from....why the star is super hot....how many earth are there in the three galaxy....

  • You left out Mercury.

  • A great vid with great music.

  • Recent measurement show Betelgeuse size being bigger than what it was thought to be due to a more precise measurement of the distance, which appear to be 640 ly away instead of 430 ly.

The new measurement placed Betelgeuse in the 8th position for the largest star, with a diameter >1000 of Sun's approx.

  • oh now were all screwed [insert reason here]

  • awesome, now re-do it only this time more slowly so I can try to comprehend it all and fail misribly..... but this time more slowly ..

  • When we as humans consider our size, the size of our planet that seems so big to us compared to these giants, every problem in all the ages of man disappears, do we even exist to these Gods ?

  • do you know where you can find the full video to this cause it's epic and i know that's not the full thing! somebody showed the full thing to me but now i cant find it!

  • @Blaziken54fanpop I'd love to find a full video. This is the only version I've ever seen with this style. I've seen other videos on the same subject, but not animated like this.

  • @greenteagod Why Aldebaran is black red not like the other stars who is either Yellow or Orange?

  • @greenboy912 Maybe Aldebaran is a massive burnt out star, and I think the pink one is violet. Infrared/violet colors are so hot that if you are close enough to see it, you are vaporized into ash. We are too far to see it but we identified it via telescope.

  • @Blaziken54fanpop i don't suppose you've found the full version yet? I haven't tried to look.

  • @AlanWattParrot nope not yet.. it's so hard!! why can't i find it??

  • =) now imagine if it became a black hole... it would suck the whole universe in!!!!

  • didnt they find something even bigger than the largest star?

  • @ZenOneMike It depends on how you are measuring the star - by mass or by volume. Off the top of my head, VY Canis Majoris is still the largest star by volume, but there is a larger star by mass. R136a1 is currently the largest known star by mass, at around 265 solar masses, and was only recently discovered (2010) in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

  • That means that there are bigger suns than the largest

  • Wow. I totally feel teeny now. Nice music, I just watched that movie last nigth, that's weird.. Check the vid on my page that's kinda sorta like this. :) *PEACE*

  • We should get Rick Astley to do a rick role and destroy that thing, fuck nukes, bloody hell!!

  • @G3Gunner actually rick james would've just told it "I'm rick james, bitch!" and problem solved. lol.

  • How do they know how big the stars are?

  • are all these large stars still within the milky way galaxy? if yes its only the largest star in the galaxy ,there are suppose to be billions of galaxys within the universe

  • Damn, were like a grain of sand in the ocean compared to VY Canis Majoris

  • great vid!

  • After looking at that, do you think your problems are big?

  • the textures are real?

  • Our solar system is but a speck to the gigantic titans in space! It's amazing!

  • Crap that star is big, lets put it this way, If that star was the earth, the sun would be a small asteroid

  • Comment removed

  • google Doe's Account, its mindblowing

  • if they would be still rating i would have rate it 4/5

  • Why I cannot get related things by searching the planet "riegel" in google? is this misspelled?

  • Yeah it is a typo in the video. It should be Rigel

  • @lucentwish If you notice something about Riegel it i9s how they spell it in Lego Racers 2.

  • look who is the tiny one, now...

  • Hehehehehehe that's a silly fireball

  • Hollywood stars will suffer from a stellar inferiority complex after watching this

  • Haha true

  • Imagine if humans were able to survive on that star! There'd be no more fighting for land!

  • But that is the point. . . the star has no land per say - you couldn't really stand on it. But I do wonder if it has planets orbiting around it. . . and what the sunset must look like on some of these planets.

  • Those planets would have orbits measured in millenia they'd have to be so far away from the star to keep from getting swallowed. Mind boggling.

  • @MarioFan124

That's because we would be so far away we would die before reaching the other guys lol

  • Lol, that's a very good point! XD

  • @MarioFan124 Naw, I disagree, Humans are dumb, they would start a war over a cabbage patch..

  • @MarioFan124

    /word. ^^

  • @MarioFan124 You know human, there proably still would.

  • @MarioFan124 i must object

  • @MarioFan124 then they would start about water or oil...

There will be always war in the world i think mate.

  • @Brianvdb1 as long as there was no zionists there anyways

  • @lamboclutch and christians and muslims and scientologists and jews and mormons.

  • @MarioFan124 Well, there's no land ON the star so yeah.

  • @MarioFan124 Lmfao humans cant even go around the whole star

  • @MarioFan124

For first they have to colonize ANYTHING other than Earth. Which they didn't.

  • @MarioFan124 Just fighting for water lol

  • I really like how you showed us this, I mean the kind of style.

  • What's the name of the tune?

  • It's called The Black Hole, and it was being performed by City of Prague Philharmonic, although other versions by other bands are available.

  • I think, VY Canis Majoris is much smaller than a supergiant blue star? VY Canis Majoris is a super giant red star, this star will die after another 100 years.

  • @lueljohn False in term of size red giants in general are bigger but in term of mass it is the opposite.

  • @InitialDAmine oh, sorry, i guese no body is perfect.

  • you can fil mour of 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 gogoles canis majoris in the overshon Univers .

  • It's not the Biggest star, just the biggest we know.

Did ou know that it takes 1100 YEARS to Circle Vy Majoris Canis with an Airplane on 900 KM/T!

And it needs 7,000,000,000,000,000 (7 quadrillion) Earths to fill it!

  • this is still nothing compared to centers of kwazars

  • @electricatom2 The center of a Qazar is an galactic nuclei aka Supermassive black holes swallowing matters and sending jets of matter on our axe of view

these super massive blackholes in term of size aren't that huge compared to the biggest stars but in terms of gravity......

  • indeed and that is huge from a human perspective , but compared to the universe it is nothing not even on the scal of a sub particals , let's say it has about 8light hours circumference (2*pi*Diamatere) and just compare that to the size of the milkyway 100.000light YEARs diamettre ...10^5*365*24 light hours...

  • false would get to about Jupiter orbit which is not even half of our solar systeme....

  • @InitialDAmine your solar system is in wrong spelling, DUH!

  • @lueljohn duh I'm not an english DUH!! So excuse me if i make some spelling mistakes from time to time smart guy.

  • @InitialDAmine well, atleast u know.

  • @lueljohn native*

  • @InitialDAmine what do u mean???

  • @InitialDAmine If VY Canis Majoris was placed at the center of the solar system, the surface of the star would extend a bit past Uranus.

  • @juniorgeneric I disagree considering the "maximum" estimation of the diametre of VY Canis Majoris 2billions KM which means it has a rayon of 1billion kms while Jupiter orbit is 800million KMs and Saturns is 1.4Billion KMs, so no it surface would extend as little past Jupiter but not anymore

  • It is not the largest star in space , but none in our neighborhood and definitely there was stars way bigger and massive at the beginning of the universe when the hydrogen and helium were more abundant (aka looking on very far galaxies)

  • remember how small we are

  • epic music

  • i don't know if there are bigger because if there are they collapse into black holes so there must be maximal size and weight they can have

  • not size but mass the current limit tru observation is about 150 solar mass

  • i wonder if theres a bigger star then the last one, i think i heard that there was and it was a blue one other then that...... bloooooooooody hell

  • I'd wager there are. It just keeps on going and going.

  • at the moment there isn't any bigger know than that one( but certainly there is some that are bigger) and the biggest star (in size) are the red giants tho this red giants aren't the most massive stars (blue ones are the more massive but they die pretty quicly)

  • aRE WE INSIGNIFICANT?

  • Yes , We Are :l

  • imagine if earth was the same size as VY Canis Majoris =O we'd never ever ever map it all

  • Just think of the gravity it would force

  • there's probably some mass that 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times bigger than VY Canis Majoris

  • yea, its called the galaxy lol

jokes!, but still can't believe to VY Canis Majoris, we're like friggn subatomic particles

  • @illcommentu I reckon it is called a Galaxy!

  • I wonder what that star would look like from a planet's viewpoint

  • omg it would fill the sky 0_0

  • I like this vid!!It is very well made!!Thx for the vid, friend!!Love it!

  • very well made!

  • i like your theory and also we might be in a continuois movie being watch by god, no one knows :I

  • Well, "technically" these are also virtual squirrel nuts, but i like your nuts better :D !

Ermmm... that didn't come out right...

Ure nuts !... I mean YOUR 3D stars are very cool, sir, and the music is very nice.

Pls put the music in your description.

    Take care :).

  • my favorite video!!!

  • Can somebody tell me what's the music in this video? It seems a romantic composition, not a recent soundtrack...

  • the black hole, by some dude that I dont know...

  • Creationism is Retarded, I hate those stupid Bitches.

  • Now that's the work of mighty creator>>>>yep..no doupt about it.

  • Looks like you went to creator school. No doupt about it.

  • This fucks my head up.. there are some clever people out there.. crazy.. my head is mashed.. ive been arguing with my mates about all this...

you trying to tell me god has something to do with this lot.. im not avin it..

  • Hey I'm definitely not saying any particular god has anything to do with it =D

Regardless of the existance it has a great power over them and lets them have an excuse for the absolutely horrendous things done in 'his' name.

  • well.. best just to keep an open mind ehh!! but still i find this lot fascinating....

  • i don't understand something there are lots more galaxies in our universe and whe barely know what's in the milky way omg!!!@#$%

  • and we will newer know :) our civilisation may be vanished. Even if our civilisation will be about 10 000 old from now on it will be nothing compared to how old is universe and how long it will last :]

Our galaxy have approximately 10 + ( 22 zeroes ) of stars and there is about 125 BILLIONS of galaxies and imagine that we don't see all :) and what dumb fucking religions say about that? That this is all god.... LMAO! yes they are retards :)

  • yup, we dont have advanced enough technology to fully understand our own stellar system...

    ...yet :)

  • "VY canis majoris"(latin) transl. "VY biggest dog" becomes massive black hole after his short existence. . .( after supernova ;-))

  • I love that pink star at 0:41. i don't know why.

  • Aldebaran looks weird...
