@LGbunnies: I have tested this file myself (as seen in video), the the majority of the people who have followed the steps have been able to get the effect to work without a problem, and there has been *zero* complaints that this causes any sort of problem with your computer. The worst problem that anyone has ever experienced is just that the effect simply hasn't worked, but it has worked for most.
@RedzillaHD: You can do 3 things to fix this. 1) Uninstall it, and then re-download the free trial (I paid for it, so I don’t know if this one will work, but it’s worth a shot – up to you).
2) Download windows 2.6 for your vista computer (a modified version of XP for use with Vista) and then go back to the same site and download the effect for windows xp. I covered this in the last half of the video, refer back to it if you need to
3) Pay the $15 to continue working with the current download.
for anyone else who had this problem....my moviemaker 2.6 didnt come with addontfx! all u have to do is create that file and your god! btw thanks man this vid helped lots!

If there's a difference between the brightness or something like that between the clips then the line seperating the two clips will become visible, so how do you get rid of it? Please reply!
@Thetechguy2000: Thanks for the sub; I'm glad you got it to work. For the lighting difference, try clicking on the darker video, then go to visual effects (sometimes called special effects) and click on "brightness", from there you can manually adjust the brightness to match the other video. This should get rid of that line.

@Thetechguy2000: Ok we’ll go a different route. Well WMM is a finicky and very basic program so options are limited. Are you using the vertical split soft? –Sometimes that can blur the line. You could export in a lower quality, but as its name sake you will degrade your video quality. Sorry to say, but the best bet simply would be to re-film your 2 videos and find a way to better control your light source on both.
I made this video to help people get more out of WMM, but it has it's limits.

@razzranke: ok you have 2 options.(1) Download windows movie maker 2.6 (free) then find the effects for the xp version of windows movie maker. Movie maker 2.6 will convert the xp files to work for vista. (2) get a flash drive, go to someone elses computer, download vista moive maker, then re download the 14 day free trial files again (this should "trick" the website into giving you a new free trial) then copy both vista movie maker and those files onto you flash drive, copy them to your computer

@RileyNRA: It's a “free trial”, nobody will make you to pay $15.00 and you get to keep the free trial for 2 weeks - besides, I also tell you a way to get it for **FREE** at the end. You can still keep many of the effects and transitions included after the free trail is up so that download you did is not going to go to waste. i got WMM6 to work through a download that someone made for windows 7. I can't get the effects to show up on windows 7 movie maker that i downloaded. any ideas on how to get the rehanfx to work on windows 7?

@supergeeksinaction: I have never run into that problem, and have never gotten a comment on this before, so I have no idea how you got that scratchy image. I can suggest two options. 1) delete the file and try downloading again and retry or 2) contact the rehanfx help center.

@bananassullivan: for version 2.6, you can get an xp version of the clone effect back at the rehanfx site. Movie Maker 2.6 is a altered version of XP made for Vista users. I'll give you a direct link for this:

There can be errors in downloading, or maybe a step was missed, my point is, I don't know what made this happen, but if you go to site that you downloaded it from, you can find a help center. Since I don't have windows 7, I can't try it to see if it works, but in theory it should work and it should allow you to use the clone effect by doing the steps in this video.
The last time I checked, I am the only person on YouTube to offer this information. Some other people have talked about windows 2.6, but not all the information I gave.
I remember trying day and night to figure out how to do this, but my extensive research (around 15 hours of it) payed off, and now I share it with everyone.

@XxxEZIxxX: sorry about that, It never crossed my mind to say that up front. Yes the first way I showed will give you a 14 day trail version. But at the end of the video, I showed you a free way of doing it, but takes a few extra steps to activate the clone effect.

@ilovdisneychannel: Movie maker can be very frusterating at times. That said, this can happy due to a nubmer of things. There can be errors in downloading, or maybe a step was missed, my point is, I don't know what made this happen, but if you go to site that you downloaded it from, you can find a help center. I think they may be able to get to the bottom of it.

@Syahin001: delete the file and try again. Needless to say Windows movie maker can sometimes be a pain the the butt.
If that doesn't work contact the help center at the site you downloaded it from.

ok so followed all of your steps but it didnts work! i downloaded everything you told me and saved everything but it says at the end this didnt install right try again with settings compatable. what does that mean? do i have to change something on my comp to make it work?? please help!!

@filitrateme: That's becasue Windows media player can't play youtube videos. Flash doesn't work well with it. Find a Flash to wmv converter.

thank you so much for your really easy to understand tutorial! i have a question though - my trial time is up for rehan vista.. i was wondering if the rehan split ABA (so it looks like there's three screens) still works. i know after the tirla the wipes dont work, but the splits dont work for me either... i hope that made sense.. lol

i did everything you did and when i overlapped it, it only overlapped the audio but the video on the left wasnt throughout the video more like a fade

@BlueDudeCC: I have no firsthand experience with experience with Windows 7, but I did a little bit of research on it to try to help you.
This is what I found: A new updated version of movie maker 2.6 can be downloaded from Microsofts website. Just check for updated for windows 7 users
Since I don't have windows 7, I can't try it to see if it works, but in theory it should work and it should allow you to use the clone effect by doing the steps in this video.

The last time I checked, I am the only person on YouTube to offer this information. Some other people have talked about windows 2.6, but not all the information I gave.
I remember trying day and night to figure out how to do this, but my extensive research (around 15 hours of it) payed off, and now I share it with everyone.
I'll be making future videos on getting more out of windows movie maker - so check back periodically or subscribe.

@rstraveldummy: This happens every once and a while for people. Have you tried a computer restart? You can try resaving the files (or make a new folder for the files - for a better place to access them)

@jakayah98: the clone effect for Vista Movie Maker (this comes with every vist computer) is not free. But the clone effect for Movie Maler 2.0 (has to be downloaded) is free.
