When I walk in to see a movie called: "2012" which has "DESTRUCTION OF THE WORLD" litteraly written on the cover, I don't expect to walk into something more sappy than a Disney movie and more complicated than Inception. Just destroy stuff, enviromentally that is. That's what he's good at.

In 2012, the message is that we can be very selfish like the US goverment and thoses billionairs.
And don't compare him to Michael Bay, because Emmerich knows that the characters truly are the heart of a movie, not special effects.

I think Roland Emmerich is ignorant, I respect his rather negative opinion on religion, but apparently he doesn't have the same respect for everyone else, the movie seemed like it just use 2012 scare tactics so people would go see him bash the hell out of religion.
