Could you do some videos on extended scales for fast runs across the neck please it would be alot of help....really nice video awesome teacher...i didnt even think twice on subscribing to your chanel...awesome lesson amd once again thanks alor
@shaire99 Hey thanks for watching, this video lesson is from early 2010. Most of my newer ones do demonstrate the licks at the beginning of the video before the lesson begins. :)
I can't play Eric Johnson stuff no matter how many times I try. I can play all of the songs and parts slow of course but no matter how long i play these things slow, i just can't speed it up. it doesn't work for me. My fingers don't work that way.
@scotchy91 Hey, the link in the description is now a direct link to the page on the site where you can download the PDF. Thanks for reminding my that I need to do this for all of my videos. :)
You're a very good teacher, I've learned alot from these videos the last months!:) Question! what kind of pickups do you have in your guitar? They sound very nice:)
@rockefrosk Hey thanks a lot!! At the time I shot this video I was using a Dimarzio Fast Track 2, Pro Track and Chopper. I have since gone back to the original single coils but I just can't seem to make up my mind. :P
another fantastic lesson!! thanx. ive learnt so much from your lessons. if you ever get time it would be great to see some lessons in the style of Andy Timmons(particularly his phrasing with pentatonics) but for the mo .thanx!
hey man, wanted to say thanks for your fantastic lessons - i know there's alot of us who benefit from these lessons - the least people should do is comment and say thanks a million! ill be making a contribution to your website sometime in the near future - you deserve it!!!
can i just say thanks, the minute i learned them arpeggios it seems like my playing finally has structure to it. btw can i ask what delay pedal you use??
@JakeModica93 Hey thanks a lot for watching. I am playing through a Line 6 POD X3 live. I do all of my videos with it. Its a nice little pedalboard. :)
Thanks! Watching this, the Open Voiced Triad lesson, and the Pentatonic lesson gives me plenty of EJ to work on and merge with my own stuff. Easy to understand. Practice these 3 lessons all over the neck in every position and every key. You will get better.
Hey, just go to the main site and click on Lessons Archive at the top. Then click on advanced lessons archive and scroll down to the style series section. You will find links to all of my EJ lessons there. :)
what are some good songs by Gambale and Eric Johnson? And how do i become as fast as eric johnson? I've been trying to play cliffs of dover but i just cant keep up with the track i have to slow it down by a quarter lol
Hey man, I think the main thing in developing EJ's speed is understanding his economy picking style. Have you seen my performance video of Cliffs Of Dover on my song lessons channel? You can find the link in the sidebar of my channel.
On my main site, I break down the entire song note-for-note AND show all of the ways to economy pick the fast sections like he does as well. :) Cheers!! Carl..
This is great!Glad to hear from you and I hope you'll finish those lessons.I also try myself to develop some interesting techniques by blending different styles from famous guitar players(especially Eric J. and Gambale).I have to admit that Gambale is my favorite and I have maybe 5 or 6 years since I start diggin' his style and his way of thinking in improvisation.
Oh I completely agree. In fact my personal playing style is a combination of Gambale style pentatonics and EJ's style. I am planning doing some lessons on how I approach pentatonics with full economy picking like Gambale does very soon. Glad to hear from someone who can make the connection between the two players. They are both incredible!!
I love your guitar so much

It would have been more awesome if you could somehow imitate Sir Eric Johnson's tone cause he has an amazing guitar tone
