O mere khuda! I'm speechless. Ustad Ashiq Ali Khan was Ustad of Ustad Sarahang Khan at the music school of Patiala back in 1930's. Simply amazing.

subhan..! i have an incurable bias and love for the patiala gharana. they alone

can integrate superb technique (tayyari)

with unparallel sweetness in the same

taan. this rare recording is a sibling to the renderings of my beloved (kind of uncle) the late - but immortal - ustad bade ghulam ali khan. who reached the final and heighest summit of north indian classical music.....beyond which i have never found anything...not even

on my wildest flights of imagination.
