Mosquito March may very well be my favorite Oils' song. The studio version is so incredibly intense, but it does seem to lack a certain 'oomph' here. The guitars aren't nearly as overpowering, and Peter sounds kind of tired, and doesn't have the backup harmony that he gets on the studio cut.
i first seen the oils in 1978,on a tile, can you imagine, and was hooked, unlike the guy who flew around the globe to see them,(admire that dedication),i never missed a gig within 200k,and was lucky enough to lug their gear a couple of times, working with a support band, ward 10,and seen some behind the scenes action, for those who never had the chance to see them live, where never properly captured on disc,(in my opinion, unlike most bands the oils sounded better live)they will be sorely missed joe
I've seen Midnight Oil about 5 times. Mostly in Oz (Sydney) and finally in Los Angeles (in 2002). They were always white hot live. Rarely seen a band that could top them live.
Dear God...I saw them once, and it was on the Capricornia tour...whatever words I used would do them so little justice as to be an insult. Each song in the set was better than the last one...thanks for posting this! :D
This is AWESOME. It's a shame Luritja Way didn't make it all the way, but you should be deified for posting this. I love watching these guys play. There's never been - and will never be - another band like Midnight Oil. I can't thank you enough for this, and can't wait for the rest. Thanks!

Great stuff. The Oils in their final months. They played with that intensity and indignant rage right up to the end. Unique and always missed.
