  • The most expensive can opener...... I can't belived!!!!!

  • I love the way it sets it back down. "click" hahaha

  • Sorry Jerry! Haas is at the bottom of the Machine Tool market pile. Look up Kitamura, Mikron, Fidia or Pietro Carnaghi. They go from $250k, to well over 2 million.

  • That's about all a Haas is good for! You will get to know your Serviceman very well.

  • @ColonelKlank Met the guy 3 times in 4 years with our 2 machines. He came twice for setup and once for me crashing a turret during a tool change.

  • Ha! brilliant!! That gives a whole new meaning to the words "Canned Cycle". I hope they make this a part of the new intuitive programming option.

  • Perfect use of a high-end CNC at the end of the day!!!

  • @askjerry High end??????????????

  • @ColonelKlank Yes high end... that is not a DIY machine... it's likely well above $60K

  • lol:)

  • That has got to be the coolest I've seen. What offsets do you use?

  • @motel29 I just used the tool length offset and a G54 work offset. The Tool was a 1/2" bolt with the head turned off and a notch cut into the shank to act like a small hook.

  • no waste of motions? bs...why doesnt it put the top back down for you, come on now

  • i will bet every once in a while the machine pulls one back for itself, reprogramsitself and chugs the beer,,hahaha

  • @laphant Not yet. The Haas syntax isn't very AI friendly. Working on it though.

  • @hitsman100 You could make it spill some beer into the enclosure, for its dead homies.

Also, it needs probing, otherwise it will crash when it tries to open a can of Guinness Stout!

  • that is the only good thing a HAAS can do.

  • come on dude! you have 1.5 meters of travel there.....do a 20 gallon keg :)

    funny vid !!!!

  • @rgv250wales but I only have half a meter on the Z

Next Christmas party is tomorrow, no requests yet to set it up again.

  • now I know that haas is at least good at that..... go mazak or go home !!!!

  • Gentlemen, we can open this beer can. We have the technology.

  • best use for a haas machine ever...

and i didnt even watch the video... i just saw the can of beer...

  • 5 people prefer bud light?

  • hahaha

  • Can it jerk me off

  • @Front2422 Yes, with proper attachment it can.

  • @polarbear60 a "Fleshlight" with 40/50 taper? i'm sure they could do it! No coolant, just a medical grade way lube lol :P .... use G73 of course!

  • haha or you could just hit the 'hand jog' button, that was nice, no M08 here haha

  • G0 G90 G53 Y0. !!

  • I'll buy one when it can go to the fridge and get me one too.

  • nice..see my pizza slicer video..search "worlds best pizza slicer" I am the programmer.

  • i hope the boss was paying you while youwere righting that program. and while you were drinking the beer. goodd job man love it.

  • I hope that drink was for me too. nice pro man. Keep up the good work..

  • Ha Ha Ha... I LOve it Bro, G20 G54 X0 Z0.for life huh, Fellow machinist from houston...

  • That was cute... Let me know when you post a bottle opener...

I've been a machinist for almost 20 yrs. I've never seen that trick before...lol

  • cool... but would be way cooler if you could shake the beer up first, then write a program that stabs the shit out of the can when your coworkers run it.

  • Would of been much more interesting to do it all in G00....... sweet.... all of machine home of course.... but sweet vid !!! although i dont drink.... i guess you can put a coke .... and switch it to a different work offset...LOL...

  • Jeez hitsman show them how you openned the condom wrapper for your date with the CNC last friday night

  • A bored Machinist is a dangerous thing.

  • lol

  • lol, can't wait to show this to my boss!

  • LOL...That was ...BRILLIANT!

  • A MACHINE TO OPEN THE CAN FOR YOU?... BRILLIANT !!! (clink)

  • Sweet! Great use of a VF-3!!

  • How long did that set-up take...three hours?

  • At this point I had only a month experience into Haas controls and programmed it pretty much on a trial and error basis. It took me probably 4 hours. (notice the safe yet wasted motions)

I'm sure now I could do it from scratch within half an hour.

  • Very good!

I have played around with same type of Haas @ work :) What would my boss think if i try this...

  • That's great!

  • thats pretty frigging cool
