If S. Africa does not begin investing in its road & electric infrastruture then yes it will become like Zimbabwe. Roads only last for about 15-20 years if you don't pull regular maintenance on them. Zimbabwe came under native rule in 1980 and now after 29 years the infrastructure is pretty much gone. Unless SA changes it could very well be the same in 10-15 more years.
