  • Thanks but my wifi and controlers wont sync

  • HELL YEAH!!! IT WORKED!!! I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO STEP BY STEP AND MY PS3 IS NOW FIXED AND ONLY WITH A FEW LEFT OVER PARTS AND A NON WORKING POWER BUTTON.... GAME ON STONERS!!!!

  • I'm now at step 4 i hope it helped!!!, how much watt is your heat gun?

  • How long did the PS3 work after the repair? I've heard they only last about 2 months

  • I would like to say, you can use your finger for the thermal paste...

  • this is an excellent video.. this is the most detailed ive seen... im trying it this weekend... i hope it works... doyou happen to know what the temperatures are of yourheat gun on the high and low settings? mines an off-brand and i dont wanna take any chances of damage..

  • Thank you so much :) i subscribed. Please tell me if this fixes your playstation permidently. Ciao!

  • Just wanted to add my thanks to the list - for the cost of a heat gun I got my PS3 up and running again!

  • wow man this is amazing, now i can buy a CHEAPER ps3 on ebay and fix it myself! amazing

  • looks like a great instructional vid! Will try it 2marra. Few questions though, as far as heating the board goes. Can i use a free floating leveled setup? or does it need to actually rest on something leveled? trying 2 keep my question short but i'm asking for a detailed explanation since i'm thinking of using clamps. Do i use the heat gun for 1:30? Do i heat the entire board 4 a 1:00 on both sides b4 i focus on the cpu and gpu? And what is your onine handle if this works? lol

  • do i have to heat it

  • do i have to heat it

  • what do i do now? it didnt work

  • Well I be dipped, this actually worked. I didnt have a heat gun like that and thought wth, the ps3 is screwed up already so I tried this using a hair dryer and held it on the metal plates for 30 minutes, 30 min or 30$, i chose 30 minutes. it actually worked though

  • IT'S ALIVE. IT'S ALIVE.

You ought to be a professor. Easy to follow, step by step, coherent and intelligent explanations, with very clear cut emphasis on what to do and what to avoid.

Won major points by simply calling the YLOD "EVIL"

    Thank you so much doc.

  • Hey man thx a lot I just fixed my PS3 and it's been running for 2 hours, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. You vid is the best, once again thx.

  • Just fixed my ps3. Same model as yours. Worked Perfectly!

Thanks for the very detailed how-to!

  • Ninja, Thanks so much for the clarity in your voice and not skipping steps. The vid was great and saved my PS3, been up running with a load now for over an hour. Cost less than $30 and thats only cuz I had to buy a heat gun! Took about an hour total. THANKS!!!! Got my Thermo Compound at Radio Shack for those that dont want to wait to order online!

  • 4:10 what this?

  • @kebn1000

the gray stuff he put onto the cpu and gpu is called artic silver 5, its a compound that transfers the heat from the processers to the heat sink, you can get it online at amazon.com ebay.com or at a local computer store like Fry's

  • @kebn1000 Thats cooling paste... You can buy it in a computer store

  • nice job :) and thx for help , but i got a question about this grey thing.. what is this grey?

  • @MrGoo909 I'm wondering about this too.

  • Didn't work for me. :/

  • I have a different model, and it started acting weird (turning off after an hour play, and then after 2 minutes every time I turned it on. I got the YLOD the third time I tried. Strangely, after I cooled the machine by surrounding it with ice and putting a fan on it, it started working again.

Today it had the same problem, but not the YLOD yet. I decided to follow your guide to fix it before getting the YLOD again. It worked! My machine just started normally again! Thank you so much!

  • dude my shit doent even do anything after i didn this whole thing?? it's totally dead now shit!!

  • wrong wayman wrong way...when u worm the board cpu and gpu there is a nother thermal paste from gpu u must remove cover of the gpu and replace there thermal paste or elpse your ps3 geting overheat gpu

  • @SpirosDeath how can you remove the cover on the GPU to remove the the thermal paste, please expain

  • @hgreen21 u must removit rly carefully to not damage the chips but no point mate

i told u again as i told before on many ppls u cant fix it better buy the slim and do somthing for the temporary i recoment u buy ps3 slim i have the fat for experiments now

  • Noice

  • So, I have a very specific worry with my PS3. I just got the YLOD two days ago, but there's a disk still in the disk drive. Is there a way to remove it before I fully fix the problem on the off-chance this doesn't work?

  • ps3 cooling fans dont work it makes my ps3 hotter

  • I just went step by step.... now the red light is not blinking its just solid... Did everything step by step...what could be wrong? what can I do... what troubleshooting do you suggest?

  • Ive been wondering, isn't that too much application of arctic silver 5 in particular? I heard a lot of people say if you put too much of this stuff you could make it worse for your ps3.

  • i did all this now it wont even light up what i do wrong?

  • yesterday my ps3 had the ylod too -_- can there happen anything with this heat pistol? i´m a bit afraid of things like that

  • thanku very much ur vid was very helpful and useful u saved me a ton of money thanks man

  • Great vid's thanks a lot ;-)

  • can i use anything besides thermal compound

  • Hey, I have two questions.

Does this work too if the ps3 has the three beeps problem?

Will a hair dryer do the trick instead of a heatgun?

  • hey bro did you have the reassembly video for this ps3 model coz i have the same one.. help me pls

  • I had a YLOD before and I fixed it. 4 months later which is today, I got a flashing red light. What does that mean?

  • So this actually worked.... Not saying that I didn't trust you. Just figured it was a long shot. Used it for like 5 hours last night after the fix and it seems to be running great... Thanks alot man... $30 for a heat gun and thurmal paste is much better than $200 bucks to sony... I might even return the heat gun today. Thanks Again.

  • I just wanted to let you know that I just booted my PS3 after having done this. It was one of the original PS2 backwards compatible models. Thanks for your video. It was invaluable and you've saved me a good deal of money.

  • The start button doesn't seem to work.... any ideas?

  • @EXOinsider6 when you clip the top portion of ps3 back on, you line up the front side first accordingly to the bottom portion then you slowly drop it down towards the back side and clamp it on. this way the eject and power button lines up with the board.

  • I've got it on my old Ps3, same model as you leaving it to cool right now... Hopefully it works (YN)

  • Omg thank you so much this helped me alot your the best!! I have not played my ps yet but I turned it on and it was working just fine when I get a credit card I'll try and make you a donation!:)

  • please can you tell me what that heat compound liquid is and what it does? also what was the messy stuff you wiped up with the paper towel and why was it there in the first place? thanks.

  • hey man ylod just occured today i dont understand why you need to heat it up also would a blow dryer do the same trick just do it for longer or what???

  • Didn't work!!! I did everything exactly how you showed and it didn't work, I'm not blaming you but I'm really pissed off I spent all this time and the damn thing still does the blinking red light

  • omg im going to try it thank you

  • i did ths it worked but then like a week later i got the yellow light again....smh...its an original model tho from when it first came out....maybe ill go and redo the whole process again...if it doesnt work after that then ill just focus on getting a new one

  • Worked to perfection! Thank you so much!

  • hey ninja, i have watched all 4 ps3 vids and i am about to fix mine using your method, before i start i was wondering if you could tell me the reason for heating the motherboard? i understand everything else, and i just like to know why im doing something before i do it??? thanks a ton...so far this has been very helpful

  • is this a permanent fix?

  • hey i tried this but by accident i did it for 6 mintues and same result should i try again?

  • After the repair how long the life of this ps3 lasted?

  • So is this a permanent fix or just temporary one for 3-5 months like the other vids?

  • I would also like to thank you for this "how to" video! It helped me fix my PS3 tonight!!!

  • I would also like to thank you for this "how to" video! It helped me fix my PS3 tonight!!! Folks, follow the steps and the PS3 will live again! :)

  • I would also like to thank you for this "how to" video! It helped me fix my PS3 tonight!!! Folks, follow the steps and the PS3 will live again! :)

  • i didnt manage to fix the YLOD, i used a different kind of thermal paste, will this affect the result? or is it using a hairdryer will not reflow the motherboard?

  • my ps3 just took a phat poop on me today, and I have the same model as you... so I will try and follow your vid tomorrow. Where did you go to get that metal heat compound stuff? Video was very informative and very easy to follow. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks

  • @UntamableGaming I ordered it from Amazon.. but you can get it at Frys (if you have one in ur city) or any computer type store..or on eBay.

  • @BicycleNinjaSays for some reason i cant post a normal comment, i apologize, but i have watched all 4 ps3 vids and i am about to follow your method, i have one question before i start....why do i need to heat the motherboard? i have replaced thermal compound in computers without doing this, with success....def. not disagreeing just like to know why before i do it. thanks alot!!

  • Thank you, you helped me heaps! Your a legend.

  • @123seinfeld Thanks! Glad I could help!!

  • thanks bro, you just saved me a bunch of money without switching to geico. seriously though, thanks.

  • @IndianaChampion Hahaha..no problem--glad I could help.

  • u just saved me 3 weeks and 150$ thank you

  • @gotcha114 Glad I could help...

  • holy crap the music at the end freaked me out! but awesome job!

  • So, I did this. Used the hairdryer and it worked. But for some reason, the fan died.

  • tHANK YOU :]

  • @SUNRIZZE For sure. Glad I could help! :)

  • You reflowed the board really long!

Is it safe to do that? 'Cause gilksy reflowed the board differently.

And does room temperature affect anything? My country is hot, it gets to 37 degrees celcius by noon.

  • @kalbidi That amount of time worked for me... I think the key is just not to hold it directly on any part too long...just keep it even and let it get back to room temp..

  • To anybody watching this video, LISTEN to this guy, he knows what he's talking about. I've fixed loads of PS3's so i can see he's doing it correctly.

    Good Job bicycleninjasays

    Keep up the good work

  • @KYKINASS Thanks alot!!

  • Very Impressive Bro

  • @bisonfoot Thanks very much.. appreciate you watching. Subscribe if you will.

  • @BicycleNinjaSays

I'm not sure if you can guarantee this, but

how long do you think this repair is going to last your PS3?

I would be thinking around a couple of months, but if its going

to break down in a couple of days, i won't bother fixing it.

  • @DraithZX I'm pretty sure it'll last a good while. I hear that it lasts about a year but adding the cooling fan as I have (see my cooling fan Vid) should extend it even longer. So far I haven't had any issues with it--- its been almost a month so far.

  • @BicycleNinjaSays

Thanks, I've decided to start this tomorrow.

I got everything other than the heat gun, would you mind telling me

which brand or model heat gun you got? Btw, thanks for your help,

    it's really appreciated.

  • @DraithZX Its a Black & Decker Heat Gun (Heat Pro) $24.99 It has a 2 speed switch for 500 degrees & 1000 degrees.

  • @BicycleNinjaSays

    Haha it's done!

Not only that, it's fixed! XD

I call it the Green Light of Hope :P

Anyway, thanks a lot for the tutorial,

couldn't have done it without you. I wish i could donate

    but i don't have a paypal atm...

    Do you have a PSN?

  • @DraithZX Congrats!! Well done-- its not that tough, just kind of tedious. Paypal takes all kinda cards but knowing it helped is actually enough--thanks for the comments & the Kudos! Take it easy on that PS3 though.. my PSN name is BICYCLENINJA

  • @DraithZX @DraithZX Its a Black & Decker Heat Gun (Heat Pro) $24.99 It has a 2 speed switch for 500 degrees & 1000 degrees.Glad I could help! Good Luck!
