Looking through the TPower I45 manual I notice it supports up to DDR2 1066 4X2GB modules (max 8GB) while the Crucial site says the board can support 4GB DDR2 PC2-5300 modules giving a total of 16GB RAM. So I am wondering if the board can take 4GB RAM modules?
hey, i'm new to building computers. I was wondering, if I replaced my two year old computer and just changed the old motherboard for a new one. What would I have to do in terms of software to make the computer work?
Would I have to reinstall Windows Vista all over again?
Or do I just have to uninstall the previous bios driver, replace motherboard and then install the new bios driver?
i dont think the operating system will effect it because my old pc isREALLY REALLY REALLY old and im using windows 7 on it. so i dont think it will effect it:D
I got this, First time i tried to boot it was totally spazzed, it told me there was a problem with pci so i tried 3 working graphics cards and still the same problem, i tried every other component and they all worked in another pc It seems the motherboard is drainign power from the graphics card since it did not even work with my friends 1000w powersupply hopefully the one ther shipping will work =P
I Almost bought one of these on eBay for $62.00 three days ago. I didn't know it was an overclocking monster till now, I should have hit "buy it now". haha.
I have this MoBo and its so nice, it's nice and fast when equipped with an Intel Q6600 with 2 GB of Crucial BallistiX Tracer DDR2 (I'll go to 4GB sometime).
Having a black PCB is an added bonus for me seeing as my RAM, Grapics card and PSU are all black so it'll look great when I get a side window.
I have this board..got it 2 weeks ago from Microcenter. Paired it with an E8400 and some cheap DDR2 PC6400 RAM and was easily able to get it up to 4GHz... Love this board! Using a Tuniq 120 my temps are 25C idle and mid-40's when benchmarking.
hey can anyone one help me. i just got me core i7 parts in and i started to build it but when i was done building it. i went to boot it up for the first time and the systems fans came one for a min the went off and it keeps doing it. well i keep playing around with it and got it to boot and i got to install windows and play with it for about to hour well now my system is doing the same thing when i boot up. fans kick on for a second then gos off .
Gonna wait until more company's make parts for them so price will be low like 775 stuff is now maybe towards end of the year maybe next year cause 32nm is coming out soon.
im sorry rick but i find that offensive. im only 13 and ive been tinkering with pcs since 5 and built my first when i was 9 and im a gamer/f@h and i know a crapload about computers. i know more than some adults. say ur sorry lol. plz that wuld be nice.
wow, the biocrap board is more expensive than the gigabyte ep45-ud3p and it sucks 10000z more than the ep45-ud3p. ps NO ONE sets me straight!!! NO ONE tells me what to do!! I hope i am crystal clear.(referring to firestormcomputers)
First of all I am a bad ass overclocker and second this board hold many records for high FSB and overclock on most of the E8XXX series CPUs you might want to Google somethings b4 you start to just yell at everyone.
That looks like a nice board. I have had some problems with some old Biostar boards. I cant wait to see what you think of it and what kind of results you get from it. They may be worth having a look again. It has been severa years since I have tried one.
all this fucking buffering makes watching these would be great videos terrible i think everybody should start posting videos on something else like twiter
A Gigabyte P45 costs around $110, so this can't be too much more expensive. But Biostar is a great brand, I have a 790GX chipset motherboard from them and it's awesome.
I have been into computers for 3 years coming this June but I spend every minute reading up and tweaking my rig. This is my passion and I do whatever it takes to get the last mhz out of my parts. Do you spend all day everyday learning about overclocking and benchmarking?
teehee ive been doing this for a long time, since i was 7. and no i do not spend all day learning how to oc but i did oc my cpu to 3.4 ghz (q9550). cuz i have school. hey man lets not fight i dont want to fight. :)
Well I do spend all day when not work tweaking and learning on how to push my hardware to the limits on air cooling. If I had that CPU it would be at 3.8-4.0ghz guaranteed.
If those are the SATA's ports under the PCI-Express slot, the placement of them is in a very bad spot! If you have a dual slot video card it looks like it will be tough to gain access to the them. Looks like you need to take out the video card so you can plug in a SATA cable.
Ya they are 90 degrees so all will fit but your right will have to remove card to get to them but that's just as easy as removing a screw, releasing the latch, and pulling out card. Same with the clear cmos battery, but its got a button so hope I wont have to do that if so oh well that's overclocking.
I have the same mobo and it is great. the SATA ports are located in a good place besides the south bridge. looks like there are three SATA ports but in fact there are two per port so there are six.
The eight red things between the two PCI-Es are jumpers so you can manually tell the mobo you have connected a second video card.
Wow that looks like a real nice board with some nice features and accessories. Plus it looks like you can plug more than 2 Sata drives in with that big video card of yours ;)
biostar is impressive. Good choice for a quality budget board. Your money's worth more than you could ask for.

Rick do you think this is one of the best OCing LGA 775 boards there is out there? I'm going to be using DICE.

Not sure I can go down to 667 default and if OC I can go as low as the FSB is at 1:1.

you like the biostar. i bought a cheap one i was wondering if their auto overclocking utility was worth it.?
dacooter 3 years ago
Been running great haven't had time to start overclocking.
I wouldn't use auto overclocking I do it all manually in BIOS better results that way I think.
Not sure how good it is, bout as good as any of the others I imagine
RickArter 3 years ago
i figured the oc utility wouold be better because its in the bios rather than the os

Im an ex gamer noob and i know just as much as you lawl..
theres no point in overclocking if you don't do stuff to use the performance that your creating.
knaxon 3 years ago
Wasn't really aimed at you but I see your point and I consider benchmarking just as good as gaming for putting performance to good use.
RickArter 3 years ago
overclocking without gaming invovled is lame sauce.
knaxon 3 years ago
Are you serious?
I do game a bit but I am a overclocker and benchmarker by heart so games come last in my mind.
Thats why all the gamers I know and chat with don't know crap about computers or overclocking but they sure can aim good lol.
