My grandfather was only a boy during the second world war in the East of France (Lorraine). His parents had an inn and American soldiers were staying there.

My grandfather told us how they'd give him chocolate bars everyday, drive him around with their Jeeps in the morning. They even taught him English and in the end, he could speak it very well without any accent (he lost it meanwhile).

A big thank you to all the veterans. Facing so many miseries, they still managed to act as gentlemen.
