@ozziecanGaroo89 the only reason the italians did poorly is because Mussolini forced the Italians to fight, but in fact the Italians hated Mussolini and did not want fight which is why Italian rebels killed him hung his body in a central square so people could spit and shoot at his body after that the new italian government joined the allies and strands the Germans.

The only way Germany and the axis could have won WWII was if they developed nuclear weapons before the USA. While their military was well trained and their Panzer formations very effective, most of their army was infantry and supplied by horses and trains. They did not have the production necessary to conqour the world or even win a stalemate. The USA went from a shallow shell of a army to a massive, well supplied and motorized army in 2 1/2 years, while supplying most of the allies as well.

And 80% of the German army fought in the East and they could not knock out the Russians. It was late 1942 before LARGE quanities of American lend -lease supplied started to arrive and by that point the Germans were already being pushed back and on the way to defeat. The USA and GB fought well, but only against 20-25% of the German Army.

Great video, the Wehrmacht were no doubt the most effective and highly trained military in that era. Its a shame though that their main European ally Italy only held back the Germans and didn't really do much in the war, needing the Germans to come to the rescue on several occasions! (Crete & Africa). The only reason they lost the war was Hitler not listening to his Generals & Field Marshall after Stalingrad it was all downhill, they just conquered more land than they could defend.

@ozziekanGaroo89 Actually another way of winning the war would have bee nto actually pull back the 100 or so thousand men in africa, they were very good soldiers all veteranized, hitler held the there to long, and the british and americans cut off their way back, so they fought, but rather then all suffering a much anticipated defeat, they surrendered, another way, if hitler hadent have ordered the execution of Erwin Rommel. the best panzer command of the war, and others, Sieg Heil my freind.

this video really opens my eyes and heart, my great uncle was in a Panzer Grenadier unit who I believe died on the Eastern Front I'm not too sure, but his brother fled Germany in 1937 or 1938 and was a Marine who died on Iwo Jima, I am proud to be German and this video really makes me wish I knew more about my uncles who both died for their countries and families. I am so happy to see Germany and The United States as such great allies today...Vielen Dank für dieses großartige Video!

Yes they were brave and accomlpished many great military feats, but you gotta remember that the german army on the eastern front had aid the "Einsatzgruppen" (mobile death squad" in ousting Jews and Communists amongst local populations. These groups were systematically murdered.
