HOLY SHIT!!!!!! I hope Trent continues producing musik...at LEAST solo...I know they're done with NIN...but...PLEEEASE?

  • @CaraAsoleada hes not done, just taking a break and doing other stuff, like with htda and that

  • I listened to this song just as I was peaking on a 32 coricidin overdose which I survived, but this song has always made me enjoy life more since then.

  • @Whitestuffco

wtf you doing taking that much OTC anihistimines?

    were you that desperate?

  • I swore to GOD I would NEVER TURN into YOU!!!!

  • 2:55 or whatever... Great riff.

  • This is amazing.

  • @loveskurt They just sound similar, that one is slightly rearranged.

  • I love this one :)

  • man he,s so fuckin deep it hurts, i fuckin love trent

  • @lizzykiss441 That is so dirty. ;)

  • I don't think this is the version of 10 miles high found on Things Falling Apart. this is the album (vinyl) version

  • @1337Ravage yes, you are right, this is not Keith Hillebrandt Mix from Things Falling Apart, my bad :)

  • I fucking love this song. = )

  • I like the original version better. This version just changed the last few seconds...what a lazy effort for a 're-mix'.

  • @Jamescush this particular song is not a remix. its a b- side

  • @superkillmondo

Ah...didn't give it a full listen. Wrong cd then. LOL

  • I think it's about striving to be something you are not, something that seems better and desirable. Then, when you get close to becoming what you thought you wanted to be, you realize that it's actually everything you always loathed and hated. You've become the person you despise the most. (I swore I'd never turn into you, I'm closer all the time)

  • like getting kicked from the roof of a skyscraper.

well, I made it ten miles high...

should be on fucking The Fragile instead beeing a B-Side.

Trent wouldn't make a bad song, nor release it.

  • I'm getting closer

  • i fucking love NiN ......

  • OutstandinG

  • dear creaturehere,

perhaps high represents the euphoria of a self-appreciated mania that distracts from the horrible cacophony..

    PeACE AND LOVE!!

    NAMASTE..

  • This song is going to get me ten miles high. Damn, this song rocks!

  • suicide

  • This is really hard stuff........

  • It's on Newgrounds. Search for 'dependency'.

  • Thank you so much for remembering for me! I haven't seen it in forever.

  • Everytime I hear this song, I know deep inside it is about more than just getting high. However, I can't exactly put my finger on what it is truly about.

  • This song makes me think of two different things.... someone who has reached a mental climax, or someone about to get down and dirty with their lady. Interesting. But for me, its such the perfect jam to kick to when your leaving work!

  • Comment removed

  • i guess you were the wrong person to influence here. you say leaving work.... interesting.

  • NIN is not exclusively for the unemployed

  • @Aridcreaturehere Just listen to the lyrics. He talks about 'never turning into you' by getting so high. A hatred for the world and a desperation for escapism aka getting 10 miles high.

  • I heard this song used in a flash animation once. It was about a robot trying to escape a prison, but when he finally did his power cord ripped out and he died. It was a lot more chilling to watch than it sounds.

  • @Roooobb you have a link?

  • those drums are crazy, like some insane army marching.

  • check out echoplex moravian mix its fuckin nasty i listen to it over and over

  • I enjoyed Further down the spiral compared to Fixed and Year Zero Remixed. Things falling apart was pretty excellent.

  • I prefer Fixed over Year Zero Remixed

  • I don't get all of the people hating on the NIN remix albums! Thungs Falling Apart is awesome, and I really want to get it. I already have Further Down the Spiral, and it's great!

The only crappy NIN remix album out there is the Year Zero one.

  • From what I've heard of it, Fixed is a bit shitty too. I agree that this one was great, though. To the extent that I preferred some of these tracks to their ancestors on The Fragile.

  • I dunno... I think the only bad remix album was the Year Zero one. On TFA, they had some good tracks: 10 Miles High, The Wretched, and Slipping Away...

  • @Blade3327 The Year Zero Remixed isn't bad at all

  • anyone got mp3 of this? I need it and I'm bordering being to broke to afford stuff

  • Just get it off of the pirate bay.

Trent actually encourages people to steal his music, rather than pay for it (I'm not so sure about Ghosts I-IV though)

  • @sgf1989 ITS CALLED TORRENTS

  • lol @ epicchef. sad.

  • Hmm, I wonder what this song is about... all in all, perfect composition. The starting semi-ambient tones, the badass guitar during the chorus...

  • You wonder what this song is about? Really?

  • Oh, darn. Sarcasm really doesn't work on YouTube...

That was sarcasm too, BTW. lol

  • Why, I love you too... lol?

  • it kinda reminds me of maybe an insane guy in an asylum or it would pretty cool to see it for like a mad scientist in an action movie....

  • very well put together, couldnt ask for a better song.

  • Tear it all down

  • this is my absolute favorite NIN song!! well other then HURT of course

  • NIN did not cover hurt, it was an original Trent Reznor song. Johnny Cash did the cover, silly. Don't you know?

  • @charbizzar

When I was younger (I was raised listening to NIN) I did think that Trent was the one who did the cover. Both versions are equally amazing in their own ways, though :)

  • @charbizzar Actually, if I remember correctly, Johnny Cash had said before that he had originally written hurt but didnt feel that he could make it sound the way that he had intended. Then NIN covered the song, of course making it their own. Cash later said that Trent gave the song what he originally wanted it to sound. Dont quote me on it tho...

  • @laffcafe what the fuck are you talking about dude.

    You got it all wrong.

Hurt was written, recorded and performed by NIN (Trent Reznor) then Johnny Cash listened to it and sent Trent a demo of the song wich Trent didn't like it at all.

After that tret saw the video end he liked cash version. That's a fact you can corroborate, but what you just said is just non sense.

  • @laffcafe Thats the big issue with the world today... misinformation.

  • @laffcafe Accept that you were incorrect plz.

  • @laffcafe Hahahhahahaa, you're so wrong!!!

Even if you were correct, which you aren't, I still prefer Reznor's version. (=

  • @laffcafe

    You've got it COMPLETELY backwards.

  • retard

  • OOooohhh! SOOoooo Highhh!!!

  • why does Trent call them halos?

  • drugs

  • huh?

  • because it sounds cool and collectible

  • YOUR COLLECTIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

    DX

  • To keep track of the official releases.

    Check wikipedia :)

  • oh!

  • I....m Ge...ting Clo...ser Allllll the ti.....me

  • probably my favorite NIN song right beside Mr Self Destruct!

    gotta love NIN!!!!!!

  • how badass. im a hardcore NIN fan and this is the first time I hear this, what the eff! Now I'm hunting down every NIN track I haven't heard yet.

  • yes if you havent heard every song they've put out, im sure you've probably missed a few badass tracks XD

  • @chumbucket66 if u can find the fan mix of 'eraserblue' u are in for a show

  • this song is awsome! why did Trent cut it from The Fragile?! D:

  • I TRIED TO GET SSSSSSSSSSSSO HIGH yay i win

  • YAY!!!!!!

  • : ))))))))))))))))))

  • Some of that beginning music reminds me of Logan's Run.

  • shit yes...

  • I love this song.

Honestly, I don't know why he didnt release it on the Fragile..

  • Trent definitely had enough material for another two or three discs after The Fragile was done. I think it's just the problem of not wanting an 'album' to be four or five hours long.

  • it would've been a beautiful 4 or 5 hours

  • I may get TEN MILES HIGH!!!

  • Pink Floyd sample at the beginning.

  • What Pink Floyd song?

  • "Goodbye Cruel World" from The Wall (1979). The difference is that here it's a little sped up and mixed with some noise.

  • thanks.

  • do you think that part at the end where he goes "tear it all down" is another referance to The Wall? I've heard Trent say that The Wall was huge for him when it came out.

  • I looked up a few sources, I didn't know Trent's favorite album was "The Wall". The original lyrics are "tear down the wall" (from the song "The Trial"), quite similar to what is sung here. I wouldn't be surprised if it's another homage to The Wall. It's a safe bet it is.

  • another amazing album by the way

  • i tripped so hard to this song one night we just looked at the carpet for 6 hours straight listeing to this song over and over for all the 6 hours. spiraling out of control looking at the huge rug. lol good good times

  • getting closer , closer to the rug!

  • ...did you say hello to it?

im sorry i could not pass that up...

  • I love the rug

  • I know exactly what you mean!

I justed to get high on mr.brownstone and I listened this song over and over again.

  • i was trying to reply, but the comment just disappeared :?

  • This version of the song is from the vinyl version of The Fragile and the "We're in this Together" UK single. The other shorter version is from "Things Falling Apart."

  • maybe your version is downloaded from P2P? :) this is original version that was released on album.

  • trent is the modern day beethoven.

  • Trent Reznor, Amon Tobin, Robert Del Naja (Massive attack), Radiohead (not sure who's mainly composing),...All musical geniuses of our modern times, who else could we add to ??

  • Richard James - Aphex Twin

You don't have to stand "Techno" (I don't) but you got to respect this kind of true art!

  • You're absolutely right, his work is genius. I thought also of Mike Patton, he is the mastermind behind mr.bungle (which is totally musicaly insane) and other projects.

  • souja boy...NO man i'm just fucking with you, but really Kurt Cobain

  • rjd2 and dj shadow have nice ones too!

  • @darthpaul123 I'm sorry, but Trent is not a modern day Beethoven. That is just ignorant. I enjoy NIN as much as anybody but there is simply no way to back such an extreme statement up. In the distant future, Reznor's influences (Pink Flyod, Skinny Puppy) will stack up much higher.

  • @jackkoffin1 alright, time to talk with you,Mr. jackoffin1 (and don't get any of your love on me whilst I'm talking to you.) Sure,Skinny Puppy,Floyd, great bands, but very short music making careers. Pink's been dead for new stuff since the 90s. Didn't do much in the 80s either. Mr. Puppy, tho great, made a very short career shorter by going and dying. Reznor is more closer to Beethoven musically and by sheer personalty, than those two. New material to boot. Beethoven is my main man,I know what I say.

  • @jackkoffin1 ha no pink floyd maybe, skinny puppy? they arent that popular, and people who know them dont really like them to much.

  • @martinez1671- You're arguing something I posted months ago? Fine, but you're wrong. People who know Skinny Puppy don't really like them that much? You pulled that statement completely out of your ass. Skinny Puppy has a fan base every bit as devoted as that of Nine Inch Nails, if not moreso. In fact, I have been a fan of both bands for many years, and to be honest, Reznor hasn't made a truly great album since The Fragile came out, over 10 years ago. Yet SP continues to be brilliant.

  • @jackkoffin1 in matter of opinion he hasn't but imo all his albums are great seldom do i find a song that i don't like by him.. nd yeah i'm commenting 3 weeks after whatsit2ya?

  • @jackkoffin1 i also love both Skinny Puppy & NIN.

  • @darthpaul123 hey,that's my line! hahaHA!

  • Comment removed

  • @darthpaul123 may the farce be with you, darthpaul! And darthjohn, darthgeorge, and darthringo too!

  • N I И rocks
