So you still get the action, but not the intensity of the Marines. However, maybe for you you might want the rangers, they deploy and work with the Army to fight but mostly deploy in smaller places... Like Somalia in the 1900's. Read black hawk down for more on that... Fun unit, and they work with Delta force. Just a suggestion...

The Guard has a unique dual mission, with both federal and state responsibilities. During peacetime, Guard forces are commanded by the governor through a State Adjutant General. The governor can call the Guard into action during local or state-wide emergencies, such as storms, drought and civil disturbances. In addition, the President of the United States can activate the National Guard to participate in federal missions.
my friend says national guards are only for national issues. like when something bad happens somewhere in us national guards take care of it. is that true?
That depends on your self, if you wana go you sign up for it. But you can always defend the country and respondto any countrie cry for aid. Like on Haiti.
But they are there maybe cause they wanted to be there.
@helopilipinas national guard deploys more than any branch in the miltary for multiple purposes. the reason is that there are more national guard soldiers and the can be rotated so much. but whenever a natural disaster happens they are able to respond to it as well
