  • Not all people of Abra are Tingguians, majority of people in Abra are Ilocanos. Abra was a part of the old Ilocos Province which include the present day Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Abra. These three provinces have some thing in common. Majority of people living in these provinces are Ilocanos but they all have minority groups living mostly in upland municipalities.

  • @noli74ph hello kabsat,,abra is not only reffering to bangued that is dominated by ilocanos...Around Bangued is dominated mostly of Tigguians so sa madaling salita,,,Hindi mas marami ang ilocano kaysa tingguians diyan sa abra...yes you are right that aaabra is part of the ilocos province befor but it does not mean that ilocanos are the original people of Abra,,,dumami lang sila it is because of economy.

  • nangkitaam nga agpada ti igorot kin kalinga....

  • Jurishzter & Torogi100 I might be of help to both of u. I'm in my early 40's born and raised and educated partly in the cordillera. i've been living in the states half of my life now. People from Abra are not Igorots, they are Isneg. Ur right Torogi, there might be some Igorots that migrated in Abra but their natives are Isneg. To Jurishzter, those Isneg probably were the once who refuse to be called mountainers. Cordillera people doesn't mind being called mountainers, head hunters whatsover.

  • look,, their dance portray a dance of a mountaineer but they still refuse to be called a mountaineer... a mountaineer if translated in native dialect is 'i-gorot''

  • who said we refused to be called mountaineers, we are proud as such kaibigan.

  • are you from abra? most of people thier refuse being called igorots, i guess ur aware of that

  • jurishteR

i don't know that people in abra are called igorots but we in the cordilleras are proud to say we are IGOROTS. I'm from Baguio City by the way. I think abra people are not Igorots but to some only who migrated. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • thaTS my point... people in abra are igorots but they dont accept it... im not saying you are not proud of being an igorot, im talking about 'most of the abra people'.... because this vid is taken i9n abra.... im also an igorot... i think you misunderstood me....
