3D animation softwares are: Maya, 3DS Max, Cinema 4D.

Tracking softwares: Boujou

Editing and composition: Adobe After Effects

but I warn ya, it's definately not easy and it takes a hell of alot of time and patience to learn.

Nah, only one out of the 3D animation softwares. just depends on which one you find easier to use. (they all practically do the same thing)

windmill, it's took me 6 month to learn how to make a car on 3ds max, so i agree, its extremely hard, and to animate them to move, is just another fucking level.. respect to the designers :)
