As disheartened as I was after watching the film, It opening my eyes. For some reason I just wanted her to drink the water not to become immortal but for Jesse's sake. Alot of people disagree that her decision was wrong, but could you imagine how much courage it took to not drink the water after what theyve been through. Just live life n become part of the "wheel" was what the Tucks wanted Winnie to have. Still very sad n tragic.
i love this movie... i think that if i were in her situation i would have drank the water not so i could live forever but so i could be with jessie forever... cause how could she ever have loved another man knowing the kind of love that was out there with jessie... there love was strong a love that there was no way she could have shared with another man... i would have drank the water and waited 1000 yrs if i had to just so i could be with him oh the beauty of true love
i read this book like a month ago and i didnt even know it was a movie...until i watched it today...every time i see the ending...I CRY!!!!! its soo sad... i mean there is a good side to both choices 1. if she drank from the spring, she would be able to marry jesse and live forever and everything. but, 2. (what she did) she experienced how it is to grow old and change and she experienced...death...
I'm crying and i'm so pissed, I don't think she did the right choice. She is selfish, He is ready to died for her and he even come back after all this years. And what do she do, she grows old, gets married, have kids and dies. It's everything he can't do! But it an amazing story and it's so wonderful and I guess the end makes the movie, but I wound drink bottles of the water for him.
The while point of the book, though, was to explain why living forever is not the right decision. Sure she loves him, but i think she did what the Tuck's would have wanted her to do. They would have wanted her to live a wonderful life, and she did. She realized that living forever, even with the man she loves, would be a curse not a blessing
Great movie! But, there's one thing that's wrong. I've read the book--just finished then, by the way--but, it said like "In Loving Memory of Winifred Foster Jackson, Dear Wife, Dear Mother, 1870 - 1948. The dates were wrong.
I feel like she made the wrong desision they both loved eachother and she didn't do what he said to and she freaken died and he came back. I wish I was her and married him like I was supposed to and drank the water. God i'm freaken crying write now!
It hurts, I hate it, but I can't help feeling torn. I think the choice she made was right, yet I don't know if I would have the strength to deny that kind of love and live on, especially when he actually CAME BACK for her. Heart wrenching by all means! X
During class, when I read this book. When it was quite and everyone was doing there work, I was reading. And all of the sudden at the end, I burst out crying because the ending was so sad.
Does anyone know where you can buy or rent this movie? Or is there a channel that might have this movie on it? I LOVE this book and i REALLY want to see the movie but were not watching it in school until the last week of school! This part is REALLY sad... Half of me wants Winnie to have drank from the spring, but the other part wants her to not drink from the spring, but I remember reading this book and almost crying in school, it's so strange at the end!
i love this movie and this scene is so sad i cry every time i see it!
wouldn't it be so cute if Jesse said "she took a part of me to heaven with her" in this scene i think it would have made this scene bittersweet instead of being so melancholy
Ugh!! Why did Jesse's father have to bring winnie on the boat and talk too her.If he didn't do that they would still be together forever!! oh well great movie!!!
i wonder why in romantic movies us guys dont feel any sadness we just think its all cheesy and that we wished there were violence but girls understand the movie and cry and i dunno how it feels to cry to a movie
i remember seeing this movie in like 5th grade cuz we read the book and watched the movie.... my class was mostly boys ther was only about 5 girls... at the end we were all in tears and sobbing things like "so romantic... so sad." all the guys were just staring at us. lol. great movie/book though. i love/hate this seen.
Lolx if those guys were real men they would be crying along with the girls lolx it takes a real man to show his tears no matter what guys think lolx idk this movie is wonderful <3
OMG it's been so long since i last saw this movie, and i remember crying so much, it was so sad! and now i found this video and knew this part made me once cry. i remember now why. i couldn't help myself, i cried again! so beautiful! i need to rent this movie again, i have to see it!
i am in love with this movie..but i have only seen it 2x and i only saw from when Winnie and Jesse 1st meet to the end...but i fell in love with it...i kinda wish she would have lived 4ever but that would kinda suck having 2 wait all those yrs and never die...ugh....sooo hard! i cried for 3 days after i saw this just 2 let yall know!
lol they mustve felt confused at first the guys going like buy your flat screen tv! and their all like fla ma what now? and miles is all like is it a kidnapping contraption? jesse going like does it bring back winnie? then mae goes like look theres disgusting midgets inside it

I thought she made the wrong decision!
He even said to her "I would die tomorrow to spend another night with you" so her decision was kinda selfish seen as how he cant kill himself :C

she did the right choice, i am sad for him, but i'm so happy she could live the better she could...

"Do not fear death, but rather, the unlived life. You don't have to live forever. You just have to live."
That is my favorite quote of all time. Ever. <333 Beautiful. And so incredibly true.

I love this ending. To me, it's beautiful.
It's showing that she wasn't afraid to live and die.
For Tuck, he will never know what it feels like to have lived a life. Because it keeps continuing on and on.
