  • Yeah...fortune cookies are as oriental as fu manchu, charlie chan and egg drop soup. Mango pudding or almond pudding are real asian desserts....not fortune cookies.

  • mine were perfect...300 degrees for approximateky 11 minutes, until brown around the edges...work fast. Fold over once and pinch together and then bend folded edge over a coffee mug. Put them in muffin tin to keep shape until they crisp up...I also put 1 /1/2 tsp of corn starch...made them for chistmas cookie swap with sprinkles before baking ...gorgeousz!

  • Wow...mine were an absolute diaster!

First....paper fortune stuck to cookie, no way could it be pulled and read. Even with experimenting, could not get paper to not stick to cookie.

All cookies chewy...never could get them to harden and have the crunch.

  • paula is like a bloody magician

  • Paula's a hot mama. Who's with me on that???

  • Those fortune cookies like mighty good, I think they will taste better with a little powdered sugar and maybe a chocolate dipping sauce. Just a thought y'all.

  • It was odd to see Paula Dean make something oriental. She had to put a Southern twist on it at the end though. "Southern Belles ring louder" lol

  • Fortune Cookies are American, though they were derived from a Japanese Cookie, but they are quite different.

  • Great video! Now, all I have to do is figure out how to fold them like they come commercially-available. :)

  • Housekeepingmag channel shows how to make a variation of fortune cookie, but they show how to fold. Heres the link; watch?v=dHTQ_LmvU_A&feature=related add that after com/

  • Oops correction of the channel- thats GoodHousekeepingMag ..I seen the vid in the list to the right. "How to make fortune cookies"
